As long as the dogs are well looked after out with the runs then it's a great way to exercise a breed bred for this . The ones to feel sort for are those getting 5 minutes round the communal garden.

Not only do i have 3 Huskies myself but i also run a Siberian Husky rescue, those saying working a working dog is cruel clearly know absolutely nothing about the breed! They LOVE it, i can assure you the dogs that we take in to rescue who haven't been walked for years, have massively overgrown nails and don't know how to interact with other dogs would much prefer the working life! Huskies do not do anything that they don't want to do, maybe research the breed ;)

especially fish

Or swear at you 😜

Been twice so itcant be bad, im normally very fussy. There are however lots of pensioners on coach trips.

Its Shap absolute middle of knowhere. Penrith is a decent drive north.

Indeed, Interesting that the hotel has not responded to the last 4 reviews either .

The recent reviews, plus the low price, is somewhat concerning. Makes me wonder if the hotel is struggling.

Good deal tempted

Read the sentence again with particular attention to the last part. I have no issue with people enjoying themselves as long as it doesn't negatively impact on others. The feral brats not being supervised whilst their parents were loudly shouting at each other over a steady intake of warm Carling and copious packs of B&H were negatively impacting on others I e the majority of the 'pods' on the campsite..

The previous comment doesn’t sound very ‘live and let live’. Why consider glamping when your ivory tower will suffice?

I am happy to live and let live as long as one doesn't bother anyone else. Sadly in my experience, many do not share that view.

We've stayed in two pods in different places and loved both. There were more dogs than kids when we went and they were equipped with basic furniture, electric and heating. Both times they were spaced apart quite well. We'd use them again. Heat added :)

Charges for kids anyone ?

Definitely agree with this. Excellent food and drinks, if I recall they also have a microbrewery round the back? Nice walks nearby and would highly recommend a trip to the hare and hounds for tea.

This is an amazing deal, the Brown Horse is fantastic in a beautiful part of the lake district (I'm from there) not far from the Brown Horse you also have the Masons Arms at Strawberry Bank and The Hare and Hounds at Bowland Bridge both are absolutely fantastic for food (as is the Brown Horse) but if you go to the Masons be sure to get the ribs! I would 100% book this if only the Brown Horse was dog friendly for the accommodation 😔

That is the pppn ( per person per night) price the above prices are for 2 nights £109 per couple for the 2 nights.

Strange... the whatsapp message said £27.25 per person?

It's 50 quid a night pp. I'm assuming most people will be at the lakes for the outside sights, Not the hotel decor. I agree it's not a 5 star appearance, but nor is the price

I hate these sort of deals they look good but you read all the restrictions it's just a way of making a normal price sound like a bargain...

You have to pay another £20 each to use the spa then more to have a room with a view so starts to get pricey

pretty sure there's a Withnail quote in this....

This has been on my to read list for a while after the great reviews on Amazon. It has previously been priced at £5.49 for a good few months and has now had a good price drop.

The style would make this cold for me if it was on offer at £0.01. Execrable.

It's one of August's Kindle Monthly Deals, so should stay this price until 23.59 on August 31st.

that's not good business ethics :{

All the dates I chose were available on the hotels website, but when I phoned up to enquire about the same dates via Tavel Zoo I was told the hotel was completely booked on those dates...

why don't you contact hotel first and book the date you would like to stay or tell them to reserve it. them buy via travel zoo

I've had a poor experience using TravelZoo for a Michelin-star restaurant meal previously, since after I presented my voucher, I found that extras got added on at the end of the meal (without first being informed), e.g. service charge based on the original full a la carte price of individual items got added (not the voucher price), bread rolls and butter (when previous dining there they had given it free).

As for the deal itself, I would be very careful about paying between £89 and £139 (depending on the hotel) for just a "voucher". I tried making a test booking on the Travelzoo site and at no point does it check availability for you; you have to pay for the accommodation and then contact the hotel directly to see if your dates are available. So if they aren't, you've just wasted your money and I wouldn't be too optimistic about getting a refund. For that reason, while the hotels get good reviews, I have to vote the deal cold. I'd sooner bypass Travelzoo and contact the hotel directly.
