I believe MK held the world record for the highest annual % of damaged/stolen bikes in similar schemes until Manchester eclipsed it within about 2 days of their scheme starting. The Chinese who tried running the scheme in Manchester clearly had no concept of the concept of how the combination of Northern oiks and plenty of canals in close proximity coupled with what is basically an honesty system was likely to turn out. (skeptical)

seaniboy

that Boris bloke has always been clueless, esp when to jump!

herrbz

If you're cycling more than 30 minutes on these, you're doing it wrong.

That looks very interesting. Would love to do it. But bit far from London. Hope they do similar in other cities as well. Hëat(y)

ukbootlegs2015

Wish I wasn't scared of heights. Wife would do this, as she wanted to do it in Costa Rica but I bottled it.

holeymoley18

All sounding good, but I would have to come to London. That is one huge negative!

joanddan7

I’ve done this and a couple of those pics are a little misleading.... the zip wire isn’t along the banks opposite the the Houses of Parliament - there is a hospital and a road In the way and the zip wire goes with the London eye behind the way you “zip” its still good but those pics don’t represent it at all

5haron

just did this and its great!!! walk up 183 steps first, your legs are tired and then zip down!!!! make sure you take your phone or camera with you as there are some great pics to take at the top!! if its raining even better, makes it go faster!!! would recommend it

Sods law i am in London the following week for work.

Kallisti

I went this weekend and I do think he's (still) clever, I do think he's artistically and technically talented (check out his "updates" of some classical and more modern works, or the huge "Media at War" piece just inside the door, it's not all stencils), and I have enjoyed his work for years. The only problem is that the style and message seem a bit dated or maybe just a bit simplistic. Sometimes it still makes me think or smile (don't miss looking out on the window ledge upstairs if you go), but I think I prefer to go to exhibitions that include other artists too - I need the variety of style and presentation if nothing else. They also had prints of his in Grafik gallery (https://graffikgallery.co.uk/) a few months ago, among other modern artists. Also (as a commercial gallery) free entry. Not sure if they're still there...

Spark

Definitely not. Uninspired, unoriginal, neoliberal garbage.

Firefly1

It's only 20% off a 10 day pass - not off a 1 day pass. Not sure why this is hot? It's good for the OP to post a deal as a newbie, but it's a terrible deal value for money wise. You can get most of these deals on BOGOF as Besford says above. The 1 day pass at £69 has no discount whatsoever. Cold from me.

Common.Sense

Why do they charge more than the actual underground pass cost?

Besford

If I'm reading it correctly it's £69 per day per person! You've got to do a lot of sightseeing each day to recover that. Go by train and get two for one at an enormous range of attractions.

skeff

i have read the full series, good books. 13 books in total

Return

There's 10 books in the series, costs about £25 at current prices to complete - but it's decent value. Each one is only £2-£2.50.

Seanspeed

To be fair, books 1-3 and 4-6 are kind of separate things. You can read 1-3 for the 'complete' story there, and then 4-6 is optional if you want more of the world with a different set of characters. Kind of like reading the first two Hyperion books, you can stop there, but the last two are there for the fans who really want more. But yea, I enjoyed this series. Seen and read a lot of bad zombie stuff before and this is definitely above average. EDIT: Also, each book is only £2 now, so with this first one free, you can do the full series for £10. Or just 1-3 for £4.

Cold, more chavs on buses

majellag

London council tax payers fund this with additional payment to GLR (London Mayor) who then fund this service via TFL, including free bus travel for under 18s, so they use bus rather than get driven to school, thus helping to reduce traffic congestion. My bill has extra £359.61 charge to cover my contribution. So Londoners are not getting a freebie
