Yes indeed. I guess they don't celebrate BF at the re-certification centre.
I have to vote this cold.

I just posted a deal on a 2TB mybook, seems like they have quite a few other good value deals like this one at half price. All are re-certified drives, meaning they are likely re… Read more

Never had any problems with refurbs personally, and you have warranty + 30 day money back etc so if not happy return it when examined, but straight from WD I doubt they would send out drives likely to be immediately returned.

I assume paulj48 was being sarcastic?
I phoned them the other day as a 10% off coupon wasn't being honoured online. Got through to an Indian call centre and it was the most pointless exercise ever. After 35 mins of trying to get the operator to order the correct item to the correct address I gave up and cancelled. Still waiting for my card to be refunded...........

On a brighter note, I received a 20% off voucher from them yesterday and used that and the £10 off code to order 2 WD Red 4TB drives which I ended up getting for just over a £100 each. Every cloud has a silver lining I suppose.

I would just phone them up , emails , and im sure tweets will get missed at times - cant attest to this stores service personally as i have never used them , but i doubt they would bother trading if everything they sent out never arrived.

On that basis they should just put up a 6tb for £50 take all the orders in the world and give no money back ever, some items are out of stock though which suggests this is not the case.

Still a good deal if you can get them, i see in previous threads people have received items fine, so most probably just a couple of very unlucky people having problems, like most stores.

Beware.. My friend is STILL waiting for a drive ordered a MONTH ago!! WD … Beware.. My friend is STILL waiting for a drive ordered a MONTH ago!! WD are terrible at sorting any problems. He even tweeted them. They said they would get back to him... 96 hours later no reply still..

exactly same experience here, took me 3 emails and a few months to get money back.
I thought we were past this store.

They don't ship and takes ages to get your money back. If you order from the regular store not only can you get 20% off via coupon and sometimes get the same as the recert price but you will find your order will actually show up.

these are fine, no more chance of failure than any other drive

Then why not use your £55 to purchase a 2tb drive then
these are fine, no more chance of failure than any other drive
These are great - but you posted the wrong deal - This is better value

Now look out for the cold votes and the hypocrytical anoraks saying "Ooooh it's recycled I will lose all my data, and I am scared of technology, because all brand new disks last forever and have a 3 year warranty, so nobody ever loses data on a new disk, and Joe Nobb 'ead will come on and say "I had one of these that lasted 7 seconds, they're rubbish"

And so on.

So use it as a baby cloud based server for your home, access movies and music from anywhere in your house, great fun and easy to set up without mentioning all those weird media servers and Linnux and android boxes that winkers (sp.) like to say "I sideloaded bubble bobble kidle kodi player into an Android Jam butty version kerplunker and that was better than this"

So plug and go with COPIES of media files or overflow Humax recordings, or your fave MP3's and this will enable to to do lots with your existing TV, or existing phone (probably)

Go for the 2TB one though

This is my first comment so don't be harsh with me.

Yeah right - bring it on - ONKYO RULES
ooo, recertified, that sounds safe did they used to be 1.5tb disks where 500mb has been locked out by firmware due to errors on the platters?
