What your talking about is the type of things that become available in …What your talking about is the type of things that become available in aldi and lidl from time to time and are nothing like a proper machine polisher, there are two main types rotary and da, a rotary will not add more swirls.......... Not trying to be rude but go and do a bit more research on polishing before comparing machine polishers to a halfords special "buffer" that you plug into you cigarette lighter and use it with some autoglym srp.

Lol.

You mean random orbit dual action, yes I know what I'm talking about ...
.... and if you did, you would not recommend using this...

Those size pads in a normal drill are not ideal, you won't get it …Those size pads in a normal drill are not ideal, you won't get it perfectly flat, if you slip, pull the trigger full on your putting all the pressure and speed on a tiny surface area. The likelihood of doing this with a drill is fairly high. Drills are not designed for this.A normal drill is purely circular motion, no random orbit so will put swirls in the paint anyway, nevermind making the likelihood of slipping greater.Proper buffers have wrapped edges in case you do angle at all to mitigate this.Buffers are available from £20-£30 with proper pads, proper speed triggers, and random orbit. But please, do buy one of these and use it on your car, it will make mine worth more...

NOT an expert but I do have experience with DA polishers. For a beginner, Argos sell a Challenge Extreme polisher for around £50-60. This is the polisher I use with 6" cutting pads. It's good for a first polisher but you won't achieve much more than 80% correction in my experience. This is somewhat dependent on the pads and cutting compound you use. You're looking at around £100-120 initial outlay so consider getting quotes from local detailers to see if you'd rather just pay someone else to do it.

If you do get a lower prices polisher give the Meguiars Ultimate Paint kit a try and use the three step process. There are a huge amount of videos on YouTube that will help, I recommend the AMMO NYC channel as the guy explains absolutely everything.

More expensive DAs in the right hands will give a better finish but I'd just pay a professional and learn to wash your car properly to avoid further visits.

surely you use the 3" on the tighter areas where 5" is too big?i do never …surely you use the 3" on the tighter areas where 5" is too big?i do never dream of using a 3" for a whole car.

My car isn't a ripple of parts or sections where smaller parts are needed. But I my large pads fell apart (the velcro backing came away) after just starting the clean, I had to use my 3" for the rest, I was there for awhile & I never used them again. Each to their own (obviously) but I've not found a part of a car where a 3" is needed (yet).

In my own experience it feels really weird for movement, actual keys feel way more accurate. I mostly use the thumbstick for camera control (superb for MOBAs).

A. No, there's no perceivable sound from it at all that would cause anyone any issue.

B. Your phone stops taking charge. If it drains it keeps topping it up.

C. I nearly didn't answer this. I have left mine plugged in for months since I got it at work and physically it doesn't overheat or anything. The cancer question I'm afraid is a bit paranoid sounding but do you know what, I can't really say no or give you a scientific answer to it so I won't.
