Next season's Formula E car will be able to complete a full race with the improved battery. Even with that as it is now, I still find it much better than a typical F1 race.

greenant

How is Formula E these days? I watched it briefly some time ago but the car switching part felt like a giant compromise. Would be more appealing without that. A Now TV, other than the high price, would mean giving money to Murdoch's companies, and i can't bring myself to do that. An online subscription in another country via VPN would be much more appealing. Hopefully could do something similar with F1's own live stream but i dont think thats available yet.

kDelta

You can watch the Sky F1 races on Now TV with a sports pass. The down side is that pass costs £8 a day or £13 a week. You can of corse only pay on weeks that the F1 is on, but still not cheap. (Plus if you watch them live you must pay the Stasiesque MI7 TV licence tax too). Anyway I recommend watching Formula E instead, much more interesting races compared to F1 these days ;)

greenant

Anyone know of something like this which does include all live Formula 1 races? Already have the VPN and don't mind paying a little - just not UK Sky rates.

jameshothothot

Whichever vpn you use will get you that service. It is like asking the operator for pizza hut. The one you get will depend which country you are in. A vpn allows you to pretend you are in another country by connecting you to the operator in another country so they connect you to the local pizza hut

The misinformation that's spread regarding this issue irks me somewhat and i too feel compelled at times to straighten the record!

No B20 Europe band. Big negative. You don't need TD LTE , TDD SCDMA or CDMA bands in Europe . This phone is not made for us. Buy something which has all UK / Europe bands

hardstylemw

Great spec for the price. Do be aware that while most of the innards are flagship level the camera certainly is not. The camera isn't entirely bad though just more on a level with Samsung/iPhone cameras a few years back.

For the sake of £25-30 get the Note 4. Bigger battery, better processor and screen and more internal storage.

Mr.Rossi

I rang PayPal last night and checked both PayPal and Amex account balances, I think the 29% discount wasn't applied. Just strange that when I clicked PayPal confirmation to pay, it said £75.70, but the receipt email from PayPal said higher. Thanks for getting back to me though, I'm sure it will sort itself out...

badboyofrock

People will probably scoff, but I've found gearbest to be very good. Might be worth mailing PayPal as well though. Also, check what's actually come out of the bank account.

Mr.Rossi

Yes, I'm sure. The Gearbest confirmation email says $103.67. The PayPal email says £104.58. I had 76p in GB points and added £2.12 for insurance. Gearbest have said they will refund me $39.54 when I get shipping confirmation. I'm guessing the 29% wasn't taken off but was a little concerned that I didn't authorise the higher amount with PayPal.

I saw some flights from Sofia bulgaria to Dubai for a ridiculous £60 return in the coming months of course excluding summer holidays children are off. Many airlines fly to Sri Lanka from UAE like Sharjah for like £120 approx. Kiwi is a good site that will allow you so search regions then book direct with airline.

canitrunbattlefield

sorry to bring this thread up again - how would you recommend flying from UK to Colombo, Sri Lanka? I'm just amazed how you found all those obscure routes at the impossibly low prices..

skirmisher08

I've booked this flight but stupidly did not realise that there are visa waiver restrictions on people who have visited one of 7 Muslim countries even if they have British passport. Had to apply for a visa but it could not be approved so now I'm in black hole of administrative processing. Don't think I'm going to be able to make this trip at all as this process can take up to 60 days so I need a miracle to get one in time. Certain airlines allow name changes (eg the flight from Honolulu to Sydney). Please PM me if you want me to transfer any flights to you. I know majority of them are non transferable.

samc

Amazing deal! I did three round the world trips last year like this and have already done one this year. Love these bargain prices, will definitely be booking this up! Me luvs a holidayy!

Something passed on to me by my polish friends even. In some places of Poland people will still be a bit racist. Not that even in London people wouldn't tbh

rui.leo

Thank you very much for spending a good amount of time giving an honest and detailed answer. my questions were genuine as an ignorant to the city and pretty much to the culture overall. I do have polish friends, however this never came into mind. i will see if I can get those days free and give it a look. once again thank you! If the community were more like you, it would be a lot better to check the comments. :)

Brilliant city to visit, so much to see and do.... we scratched the surface when we went last November, walking to the Schindler museum through the old Jewish Ghetto is very interesting (and sad). At the Schindler Factory/museum is also a very good contemporary museum called Mocak. Auschwitz/Birkenau is a definite is you've never been there before. The train station is a 10 minute walk from the old town in the new shopping center. I walked past the hotel about 3 weeks ago its near the station. Well located hotel near a big carre four in the Galleria shopping centre. The train station isn't in the old town walls its outside it.

rachelandgromit

There are a number of Ibis hotels. This one is a bit further out but reviews on Tripadvisor suggest the main square is only a 10-15 min walk away and it can easily be accessed from the airport by bus and it has excellent public transport links too, tram etc.

Been to Gdansk, Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan, Wroclaw and many places other smaller places like Zakopane, all good, more people need to open their minds. steviep23

added some heat as ive just booked myself for half term, we go every year and love it , anyone wants further information feel free to PM or reply , love the polish culture in the Tatras. few points worth adding to the thread. Krakow is the airport not Warsaw. loads of buses leave from the main station to Zakopane , you will need to get the bus from the airport to the main station ( the train line is being refurbed) if you are new to skiing then Zakopane is excellent as it has so much to offer, however if you are a competent skier then it can be limited. We go to Bialka Tatrazanska instead which has better skiing for our group , weeks pass is around £70!!!! and works on all the slopes. also Hotels and Cottages , some quality places to stay for next to nothing , have a look on booking.com we usually stay in a guesthouse , double room with own bathroom tv and wifi and breakfast £60 each for the week :) 10 minute walk to the slopes. also worth just hiring the ski gear at the slopes , the guy Lech who owns the above has some quality gear and hes sound but its a pain having to cart the stuff back and forth , same price on the slopes and keep it in a locker if returning next day. food and drink is brilliant , highlander food is amazing and i cant wait for this year , an example of prices is £1.20 for a pint (on slope) and around £8 for a quality 3 course meal :) heres a few website links , this is a great site for all Zakopane info http://discoverzakopane.com/skiing.html this is a great ski resort for all the family http://www.bialkatatrzanska.pl/osrodki-narciarskie/plan-o%C5%9Brodka.html we have booked this year at half term for a family of 4 from ireland 17th-24th feb flights £320 including luggage direct transfer with bus £20 return (drops and picks up outside hotel ) lift passes est £240 ( 2 adult and 2 kids ) ski hire £140 for all accomodation ( 2 bed studio ) £300 thats a total of £1000 for a family of 4 all in food and drink is so cheap , we eat all meals on the slopes and the finest restaurants , we estimate that standard to be around £400 for the week. so around £1400 for a weeks skiing and all the food and drink we could want :) compare that to buying 2 mulled wines and 2 hot chocs in France , cost €30 , in Zakopane , costs £5 :)

owe

Transfer from Krakow to Zakopane takes between one and a half to two hours depending on if you use the train or bus. Flight prices are likely to be similar of not better. Hope this helps

rachelandgromit

Liverpool flights in Feb are sound £60 return.

Is there any reason to fly into Warsaw. A better option is to fly to Krakow from Liverpool. Bus is then around 2 hrs. Love Krakow. Your post is very informative though OP. I am sure the long transfera are putting people off. Thanks
