Just got my XO4s today and after trying them on for a few minutes, think they are a nice comfortable (even on my great noggin).

For some reason I thought these were going to be wireless, but that's what you get when you don't check.

They do have a rather short 3.5mm lead which connects to the controller, so you are kind of wireless from the console at least.

Thought I was going to have to sit about 12" from the TV screen at first. LOL

Just got xo 4 headphones and they are realy good well worth 40
noisyassassin
any idea which headsets are better between the official MS XB1, TB XO or TB XO4?

The xo4 is miles better in build and sound than the official ones.
Can I use the turtle beach also without the adapter in the new controllers with the 3.5" jack?

Interesting to know this also ^

from what I can gather in some other theards the XO4 seems to be the one the people are saying is best.

Just a note Knockout Terrafin is also available in a triple pack with Dune Bug and Phantom Cynder, or for £5 in a single pack as part of Amazon's 3 for 2 (a deal those two figures are also in).

However, Bumble Blast is not part of any deals right now (unless you count the Jolly variant Smyths never have in stock).

Not exactly sure what Fiery Forge does but this is the only way to get it. Good deal if you buy smart, I say.

bumble blast in this form can only be got in this triple pack

but here is a review about it

The Fiery Forge Battle Pack contains three figures, although only two are playable. The first figure is the Fiery Forge, and it is more of an object than a character. When you place it on the Portal of Power for the first time, you unlock the battle arena level of the same name. Subsequent placements on the Portal of Power allow you to use the Forge as an automatic weapon that pours molten metal on enemies you aren't targeting. The weapon is useful, but the timer on it drains quickly, and since it can only be used once per stage, strategic use is vital to getting the most from it, especially since it covers a wide area.

As a battle arena, the Fiery Forge is well designed. The area is nicely sized for two combatants, and the metal ledges border three pits. The pits are shallow but are often filled with molten metal from the cauldrons above. Adding to the mayhem are sleep darts, which can be picked up and thrown at your opponent to knock them out for a few seconds. The level comes in both regular and borderless varieties, where you can knock out the opponent to score a victory. The only complaint is one you'd find with the battle mode in general, and that's the fact that it is limited to two players. Though small in size, each level feels like it could hold four players, and the battle mechanics are really suited to players fighting off multiple opponents. While it has been that way for a while, there's hope that a future franchise entry could increase the player count in this section, even if the main adventure remains a two-player affair (at most).

The other two figures in the pack are characters, one of whom is a returning member of the cast. That character is Terrafin, whose series three variant is named Knockout Terrafin. Like other series variants, his appearance in the game is the same as in his debut, with the costume change activating after you unlock his final ability. In this case, Terrafin takes a page from Sonic Boom in that he dives into the ground and has multiple baby sharks helping out when he emerges. He's more of a melee character with the earth element since he dishes out punches for his primary attack and performs a shoulder charge for his secondary attack.

He's a great character to have in the roster, but he's already available as a separate character that's available for purchase. Part of the reason these packs are so appealing is that they give players the chance to buy a character unique to the set. With this character being made available elsewhere, the value of the pack is diminished since it loses some of the exclusivity.

The final figure in the pack is Bumble Blast. Something of a living tree with a beehive for a jaw and honey for his tongue, he's a projectile character whose primary attack is a bee-launching gun while his secondary attack involves spitting honey to slow down enemies. He's interesting in that he's a capable fighter that's also useful as a support character since he can immobilize enemies so others can take shots at them. Once he levels up, he can also use both moves in tandem.

While Bumble Blast is another fun character to play, especially when his moves are upgraded, his appeal could be diminished by his element. None of the elements in the game are weak, and they merely designate advantages in particular areas and open up certain gates for bonuses. However, he is a life element, the same as the Ninja Stealth Elf packed into every Skylanders: Swap Force starter kit. For those trying to be frugal about buying figures, the inclusion of another life figure means that no new areas can be unlocked with his purchase. As a result, he's more disposable, and customers who are trying to make efficient purchases will see him as unnecessary. A character of a different element should've been chosen to complement Knockout Terrafin.

The Fiery Forge Battle Pack really caters to a limited audience. For the Skylanders fan who really enjoys the competitive multiplayer mode, more levels are never a bad thing, and the layout of the level is good. Completionist who wants every figure in the series will be interested, and the fact that the Fiery Forge figure has Lightcore properties is a nice touch. For everyone else, the pack is fine, but it could've been better if they'd thrown in a character of a different element and a character that wasn't already available for separate purchase. In short, you can get away with leaving this on the shelf for now.

Cold, all of these paintball deals are cold & a rip off.
£7 for 100 balls, and you're going to need atleast 400 more so will end up coming to about £31 for 500 paintballs, but since this is a full day, you might end up going to 800 paintballs, so will work out £52. Take those into considerations before buying.
We spent over £100 on extra paintballs, on a so called deal, so can work out a very expensive day out.
factor in cost of another 5-600 paintballs each.
you can often get these offers for £1 each as they make their money on those extra sales and dont let you bring your own

waterboy how old was the Agility 3 when you had to RMA it? did they take it back no quibble?

I gave up doing Firmware updates and googling how to resolve it after 6 weeks.

I went straight back to Overclockers where i bought it from and threw a strop until they accepted it and swapped it for a Crucial M4.

Seems they've had a fair few people with the same "disappearing from BIOS" issue and later confirmed it was duff.

Interesting that you've tagged this with Xbox accessory yet it's not compatible. Probably a good price but to be honest you can get a Driving Force GT for not much more and it's a much better wheel in my opinion plus it has the on wheel shift and a 'tip tronic' esque shifter also. Good price for this none the less but I'd spend my money on the logitech over thrustmaster anyday based on experience.

Recieved with no problems and was pretty impressed with delivery (1 working day). I've got it set up in a HTPC that boots in 10s. Came with firmware 1.2 version. Upgraded to 1.33 but this was an absolute pain as needed to enable AHCI in Windows, then in the BIOS then upgrade the firmware with a windows program. Apparently if you didn't have AHCI installed when you first install Windows (7), it does not turn it on automatically and you have to do it manually. Also turning it on in BIOS before switching it on in windows will mean that you cannot boot into windows. No idea about Linux but am assuming its a pain also, if its even possible. Why you can't do it from a bootable ISO or USB I don't know.

Thus the drive itself seems pretty decent and comes with a 3.5cm adaptor but updating the firmware is a pain.

bunch of cowboys, good luck if you have any issues, as boy u will regret buying from those clowns, not a bad price, but SSD drives go for $1 a gb, so about 75p, not a bargain by any means

http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/08/corsair-recalls-its-120gb-force-3-ssd-due-to-stability-issues/

Living amongst us right now, on our street, metro carriage, or section of highway, there are people who have recently bought a Corsair 120GB Force Series 3 with product code CSSD-F120GB3-BK. If you're one of them you need to know that this particular drive is subject to a recall due to "stability issues". Sweclockers has reported rumors that other SSDs might also be affected, but the manufacturers in question have swiftly denied it -- so it is only this very specific Corsair drive that is being recalled. Backup your data and hit the source link for further instructions. Don't get mad, get a replacement.

Just so you know...
is this one of the fastest SSDs you can get at the moment for this price range? its 130 on amazon now and 140 on ebay - this should be expired?

You say it is an upgrade you will never go back on. Just what is so good about having a ssd? You wont be able to install everything to a drive this size so I assume you just put on the os plus most used apps and they will start faster? Once loaded I assume you won't see any improvements?

I ask because I shall be taking a delivery of an alienware m17x which only has a single 320gb hdd so may add something else.

The pure speed of your OS loading is enough, for example when you turn on a PC with a HDD you can expect a slow to reasonable boot time with low responsiveness, whereas with an SSD you can expect a fast boot with instant response time. I would advise getting at least a 120GB SSD so you can put an OS, your most used Applications such as Microsoft Office, E-Mail (I use thunderbird not outlook), Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome (for internet. Chrome for faster), and possibly a few games.

I would store all music, pictures and videos on the HDD unless you are a regular editor of video or pictures.

Hi Thanks for your comments. I am still undecided though because I will primarily be using my laptop for gaming and use steam so all games must either go on the ssd or the hdd meaning if I want performance I will need to limit the amount of installed games :S

I think I will wait until I can afford a 256ssd

good idea although you may be waiting a long time

ugh they are still dragging this offer out - i feel conned as originally i was told the deal was a limited time thing - i paid £180 on ebay for a sealed psp go just so i would have these 10 free games as i felt it was worth it.

suffice to say ive barely played any of them, so yeah i got screwed as now the console is like £80 or something like that.

still, the 10 games plus 2 free from welcome back, god of war that i bought and a couple of other cheapies means ill have plenty to redownload on ps vita when i nab that.

oh and at least when the deal was originally on the 10 games were better - simply because you got GTA Vice City Stories instead of the terrible Beaterator. and even that was changed from the originalplan of jak and daxter (wish i got that one over GTA).

Does this still work ?
I've had a PSP Go for months now, but its getting pointless now as I only have one game on it :(

Yes it does. Just download the theme (as it says in the OP), and your registered email address will be emailed the code within 30 days, put that code into playstation store and you get the 10 games.
Doesn't run out until the end of August

Who would want a PSP anyway?
I wish they'd update the PSP GO instead of the Vita... I love the idea of download-only, no-cartridge, slim/ultraportable gaming. Too bulky to carry both a Vita and a mobile and keys and whatever else.

OK.

It's a really good price for a piece of junk that's well over priced and may fall apart pretty easy

brrr i'll get my fur coat out.. :p is it cheaper elsewhere? as a friend of mine wants one
i couldnt comment on the headset myself, i have a x41 that was on offer in tesco the other week, what i want to know is wether the x41 will work with the dss as my mate has this set and his sound is alot clearer and much crisper.
The DSS is **** hot, I use it with a pair of Sony xb600s.

The PX21s are seriously **** though! Lol I had mine for 5 weeks before they stopped working in 1 ear piece, also they are the tackiest pair of headphones you'll ever come across, I wish I could say they feel cheap but they don't even feel cheap just awful!

you could make another 50 quid on it on ebay you know... i know you shouldn't advocate doing stuff like that, but just a thinker.

i think its pretty good myself. already improved my lap times.
Reserved one on the 15th and picked it up yesterday evening. Seems I was lucky as local branches are now all out of stock, and surprising how much they are selling for used. The Logitech box looked unopened, but the brown box it was in had been re-sealed, possibly so Argos could put their stock number sticker on both boxes? Thank you Vaile23 for posting this!!

Prices for those new 25nm OCZ Vertex 2 drives are in line with the older 34nm OCZ Vertex 2 drives (in terms of price per GB), despite everything I've heard about 25nm memory chips supposedly costing less to manufacture. Hopefully it's just OcUK price gouging. Or Intel charging OCZ an arm and a leg for the 25nm NAND chips, in order that they can undercut them in February with the G3s. Wishful thinking ?

Edited By: Sainsbo_McManus on Dec 25, 2010 00:26
Sainsbo_McManus
Intel supposedly launch their 25nm G3 SSDs in February, that should shake the market up - I'm waiting until then to see what happens.

OcUK have a number of new OCZ Vertex 2 25nm drives out today
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/search_results.php?sortby=&groupid=&search=25nm

No real change in overall performance.
I wants me a 160GB for £150. Probably be £200.
They clearly have been delayed or they would have launched by now - they were originally supposed to have launched Q4 2010. It may be they are building up enough of a stockpile to ensure good supply - the G2 drives were under-supplied for some time after they launched.

I'm hoping for an 80gb Intel Value drive for £75.
I am waiting for the G3s, but February? Damn. Probably be even later in the UK then.

SSD's at this speed don't really have a future anyway with things like this:
http://www.guru3d.com/article/ocz-ibis-ssd-review/7

being released, even SATA 3 will be obsolete within 12 months nevermind SATA 2.

I was tempted to buy a SATA 3 pci card and get one of crucial SSD, so glad I didn't now.

I'm not convinvced. That OCZ device suffers from lacking TRIM, and also has a high CPU load. Plus it's VERY expensive. Given that my new PC mobo will be SATA 3, it makes more sense to add a single SATA 3 SSD. And the tech is available today :)

Unless I'm missing something?

It may do, BUT so did the first SSD drives. This will just be the first in a new generation of SSD's.

What I'm saying is, SATA III was released a few months ago, and it's limit has already been reached.

The future just looks better and better for SSDs.

SSD's have more benefits than just speed: they are quieter, often use less power, run cooler and are way more shockproof compared to hard drives due to having no moving parts.

you are missing the point... people pay from a few quid to hundreds for a wheel. you get what you pay for. Move will never replace the wheel, holding your hands in mid air gets tiresome, move will not return to centre of its own accord, move does not have pedals, move does not have resistance and its more realistic holding a wheel. Not sure how you can even begin to compare the two, so move will not effect the price of wheels in any way.

you might feel different if you actually try the wheel you bought, if its half decent you will really enjoy it.

Tactical Tom
It may be the same price as other Retailers but £79.99 still seems very expensive for a PS3 Steering Wheel.

I own an XBOX 360 Console and I got a cheap Steering Wheel inside an Accessories set from Argos for £19.99 around 18 Months ago and I've never used it.

If I owned a PS3 and wanted a Steering Wheel, I would wait until PS3's "Move" Technology comes out as the available PS3 Steering Wheels are likely to fall in price.

Does yours have force feedback? answer NO

There's a steering wheel set with pedals at argos for the PS3 for under £20...

But we own PS3's, clearly a sign we want quality... You own a 360, clearly a sign you want cheap crap that's loud, has limited functions and will break
