In my opinion Branston beans are nicer than Heinz baked beans. I think they cook the beans longer at the factory, they are soft and the sauce is really good. Just my opinion, B… Read more

In that case, i'm in....Lavazza Espresso looks like its been rebranded as it's harder to find the 1KG black bags on Amazon anymore at <£13. Recently bought the Gran Espresso 6 x1KG for £54, so will pick up some of this Lidl stuff to try, Thanks for the review Pluh & thanks mickrick for the heads up. (nerd)

Great price I picked up alot of the XXL ones that were nice, will keep an eye out for these but wouldn't rush out as ni to England seem very different offers

Will have to see if I can lift any from my local too - makes shopping more fun.

Even at full price it's a great deal. I've been waiting for the next Italian wave at Lidl to get this. The "Arabica" is a crowd pleaser with mild taste, very pleasant all day, every day blend. It's like an improved version of the Lavazza Espresso (the black one). Most importantly it was a fresh coffee.

Hi all, if possible I suggest you try the single bean variety available at Aldi (Special offer) the Guatamlan is superb. It's £3.49 for 454Grams (1Lb in old terms). I havn't tried the Machu Pichu version yet.

Just got a bean to cup machine so I'm trying these (from Tesco). Mind you the ones we had from Aldi seem ok at £1.89 , so will probably settle on those.

I got two bags of Waitroses' own for £4 yesterday.

Seen any other deals like this usually get the 2 for £5 at M&S but looking for different ones at the moment

Same price as above at the moment

400g Wonky Runner Beans 71p @ Morrisons

Does anyone know if these are British grown or imported?

Frozen green beans are a lot cheaper again, and do feature in my freezer, lthough I personally prefer them cooked from fresh. I haven't seen frozen runners anywhere (let me know if you have!), so these make a nice change.

Just get frozen green beans. They are one of those vegetables that taste much nicer and are cheaper from the freezer, unless you grow them yourself.

Runner beans should be any shape, they all taste the same when cooked no matter the shape, yes we grow our own :D

Surely if they're wonky then they'll just run in circles?

Sentences should always start with a capital letter. Never start a sentence with the word 'And'. Exactly has an x in it (who knew?). I'm always starts with a capital I. Oh, and how exactly are 'you sure' that Lidl will stay in The UK after Brexit? Do you sit on Lidl's main board? Are you a prescient being that knows the future? Or is it just a wild stab in the dark?

not ecactly getting minimum wage at Lidl. And it's not the staff that set the low prices it's the companies owners and the suppliers they buy from. And i'm sure after Brexit Lidl will still be in Britain

Not you.last thing I bought was the bbq ribs a few weeks back.also think the quality of the fruit and veg has dropped off

Is it me or are the weekend specials getting worse?

Bought a case of 12 bottles this morning. Part of my ongoing preparations for The Great Brexit Apocalypse of 2019.

Another amazon prime deal, Lavazza 1kg coffee beans cheapest I’ve personally brought them from amazon max 5 per order
Get dealGet deal

If you haven't ever used the subscribe and save subscription thing it should give you an option when viewing the item. £8.25 with the prime day thing then 30% off so £4.40. Max you can select is 5.

How do you get the 30% off?

No it's still £8.25 once you get to checkout. I had a 30% off first s&s order to use so ordered 5 KGs for £22.

Back up to £10.98 now - looks like it’s expired ?

SNS30PRIME for first time sns orders think it may have taken 30% off the total selling price but didn't really check

Exactly. At the £8.25 this is a deal. I'd maybe amend this deal.

£8.25 for a kilo of beans is still a decent price even if not as good as £4.40!

This is not a deal as it is dependent on the 30% off first subscribe and save offer

I get the Lavazza black (100% arabica )bags of beans. Much nicer than this blend.

Well, when I was in Poundland last week I only see Branston beans.

Yes it is. Seems Poundland is giing over to Harvest Baked beans.

That sounds horrid. I hope it was a one off, as i buy Branston Beans all the time and so far have not had an isuse. I have noticed recently more sauce and less Beans in the cans thou.

Gone right off Branston beans. I'd got used to the bottom of the tin looking decidedly dodgy/discoloured, but when you're getting black goo at the bottom of the tin, it's time to try another brand. If the contents are reacting with the tin, they need to use better quality tins.

Like these much better than Heinz (excited)

Gary's happy!

Why not just check the dates..

Yes I love the HP beans too, they were the best in my opinion.

It's part of their business model to do what? What products are you speaking about? I mentioned "branded" products as they're the only ones you can do a straight like for like price/quality comparison. Anything else is gong to be a subjective assessment. And going back to "use By" dates, there's at least one business sells nothing but short and past their date items. They couldn't do that if there were food safety issues.

It's not utter sh1t- it's part of their business model. Also, I didn't mention "branded products". You seem to equate branded foods with quality, which is both foolish and shortsighted.

Heinz aren't what they used to be but can be much improved by adding a little bit of salt and a little bit of sugar, the removal of which may be one of the reasons they don't taste like they used to.
