I loved this movie as a kid! Watched it recently with my own kids and they enjoyed it as well!

If you consider it as a film, you can pull it to pieces really. But its good old fashioned entertainment: action, comedy, romance, a few scares- the kind of movie you can enjoy as a family.

Seeing something upon its original release can dramatically effect your opinion and memories of it. The snowflake generation of today basically think James Bond should be put on a shelf and left to rot. This is also true in other forms of entertainment. Only recently i read someone on HDUK stating how crappy NES games are, turns out they were 22 years old. Sure by todays standards they are poor, but for me and many other people they are absolute gems and full of nostaligia. My question regarding the members age was a genuine enquiry and i understand this film is not for everyone. Thats the joys of being individuals right?

Loved this movie but it would have been better to have a 'Making of' documentary on screen instead of a written piece!

I can't comment on the quality of this particular device, but if you want one for Kodi, then install LibreELEC on this or a similar device for a better experience than running it through Android. You can dual boot from a microSD card, or install over Android on the internal memory for even better performance.

Hi, been looking for a android box to play Netflix hd but waz told its …Hi, been looking for a android box to play Netflix hd but waz told its only hd on the Nvidia shield... your info above gives me hope! Have you tried either of the M8S Pro L or Plus? Is the netflix defo HD? Cheers

Because they're mis-informed whoever told you that.

There are very few Chinese Android boxes that conform with the DRM level that is needed for Netflix to stream in HD. You need to look for a box that advertises Netflix HD/4K in laymans terms OR they may state the Widevine level (in this case you need to find one that has Widevine Level 1).

I don't currently own one but will be buying the M8S PRO L soon.

If you got to the link below it gives you a little indepth look into the M8S PRO L with some screenshots showing Netflix in 1080p (Obviously this means it's passed DRM and can stream Netflix 1080p).

freaktab.com/for…-hs

There are some other bits in there for you, like the Widevine level etc.

The box itself has a S912 and 3GB RAM so it should be more than enough - currently £42 on Gearbest. It kinda works out better I think to spend that little extra for the PRO L model purely because it's only a few quid more. The M8S PRO+ should be relative and similar to the link above.

Just make sure whichever you buy, is either the M8S PRO+ (PLUS, Important) or the M8S PRO L model. The M8S PRO (non-plus) isn't certified for Netflix in HD.

As far as I know, these two models are the only two that can play Netflix in HD due to their Widevine level. I've yet to find another box that does apart from the Shield.

If you're wanting something that will be guarenteed, look into the Xiaomi MiBox, but make sure it's the proper Android TV not a box running Android.

mi.com/en/…ox/

To quote XDA Developers:

"...Netflix and other services such as Amazon Prime Video are protected by digital rights management, or DRM services, and on Android require the most secure level of Google’s Widevine DRM solution (Widevine Level 1) in order to deliver HD (720p+) video content to Android devices. Lack of support for Widevine L1 can, and will, result in HD video not being played properly on your Android device, regardless of how powerful your device is or what its screen resolution is."

On another note, there is a listing for the 2GB at £26 but it's the AUS version and "Discontinued". I'm fairly sure it was reduced recently to £26.Either way, for the little bit extra it's worth it if you're into that, oh and there's a flashable Android TV ROM so effectively a cheaper Shield running (semi-official) Android TV software. If you're spending £40 or so, there's the M8S Pro L. Again Widevine Level 1 and the flashable Android TV ROM.

Well, I don't know how you could've missed it as there's always someone that mentions it is a chinese phone etc etc. But anyway, if you don't want it, refuse the parcel and it gets sent back to the place it came from, will probably take another few weeks, then you can try and ask for your money back.
This phone is REALLY good though, and even if you have to pay £20 for the duty etc it is worth every penny IMO. You will absoloutely NOT be able to get a phone from the UK with similar build quality and features for the same money, I think you would have to pay at least £300 to come close. It's your decision though.
Can someone please help. I didnt know that the phone was coming from china as I got this deal off hotukdeals then redirected to banggoods.co.uk

I got some sort of customs charge which I will only find out once I get to the post office.

If the phone is bought for £106 then why is their a extra customs charge? I thought its uk stock!

Feel a little cheated to be honest. Anyone know how much extra at the post office ill have to pay to have the phone released?

Thanks
OK, well have it all set up nicely now, and have to say this phone is lovely, very nippy too. After 2.5 days approx, medium usage I still have 28% battery left. Are there things I wish it had? yes. Would I pay the premium needed to get those features or be without some of the perks of this phone? No.. I am really happy with the decision to buy this phone, I didn't manage to get it during the code, so paid full (at the time) price of £117... I sold my old phone(s) to pay for this, so ended up costing me around £27 for this upgrade in-all
Can confirm the GPS is working flawlessly, whether that's due to the update or not I can't say as I didn't use it before the update was installed. I am very pleased that there are more apps now that will accept your fingerprint to login in place of username/password credentials and they seem to work fairly well too, so no messing about required. For those few that aren't able to use fingerprint entry, I use lastpass anyway, so passwords aren't a problem.. and have it set for 2FA so it's a bit more secure.

I can confirm that some of the "Xiaomi redmi note 4" cases don't fit, I fell for that one as I ordered a case before checking. No big loss though, I actually like it naked after having used it the past few days without problems, so may leave it that way to save on bulkiness.
Thanks

Any recommendations for a good case or screen protector? thanks

No recommendations but be careful about getting the right ones due to housing differences. See my comment here: hotukdeals.com/com…899

Basically search for "Redmi Note 4X" instead or ones that specifically say "Global Version" because ones that just say "Redmi Note 4" will almost always be for the original Mediatek design therefore won't fit correctly.

China visa waiver is quite complicated. It depends on where you are actually going to within China on whether you get the visa waiver as it is only applicable at some airports/ports. I never made use of the visa waiver as I went to China for 3 weeks but I planned my friends visit to Thailand and booked her flights so she had two and a half days in Beijing, with the visa waiver.

I did find this info on visas for cruises which is interesting.

China

No visa is necessary for Sanya (on Hainan Island) as long as you join an organised excursion.

Foreign tourists arriving in Shanghai on a cruise are now allowed up to 15 days of visa-free stays in the city. Passengers must be travelling on tour groups arranged by travel agencies that are registered in China and the companies must submit the details of their groups to inspection authorities at least 24 hours before the ships arrive in Shanghai to be eligible.

The cruise passengers may remain in Shanghai or travel to Beijing, the northeastern port city of Tianjin, as well as coastal provinces where ships often berth, including Liaoning, Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Hainan and Guangxi.

rachelandgromit

It's my understanding that you won't need a visa. As you are continuing … It's my understanding that you won't need a visa. As you are continuing your journey you'll get a free a visa waiver programme that allows you to stay for 72 hours visa free.

Indeed, but for some a couple of days in China would appeal for some sightseeing. I'd go back to China in a heartbeat. You can get indirect flights (without a couple of days in China for around £340). If your aim is to just get to Thailand in the quickest time possible then paying an extra £100pp or so would probably appeal.
