Why would you not put a normal radiator in the bathroom with towel holders?
Looks good value at this price.

However, we had three new ones in our house (moved in Dec '14), connected to the central heating. The heating system was flushed when we had a new boiler installed, and the usual corrosion inhibitors used. Despite this, the rails now show slight signs of rusting. Don't know if this would happen if these were used with an electric element, as I guess you'd put anti-freeze/water mix in. The rusting is only slight, so I wouldn't let that put you off at this price.

More to the point, I would advise being careful about where these are used. The real issue for us is that they struggle to heat the bathrooms adequately. They are the sole source of heat and whilst the towels are obviously warm, the bathrooms can be very cold. We didn't choose the towel rails (they were newly installed before we moved in), and we plan to replace them with convector radiators soon. They certainly look the part though...

Why didn't it work as a Chromebook?

It felt too small and the resolution was much worse than my Dell chromebook. Also the battery wasnt as good.
All in all I am not saying its bad but if you just want a chromebook I would get something a bit bigger with FHD

Or £3.99 for 12 @ ScrewFix
Edited by: "the1C3MAN" 7th Feb
I agree with ynos. B&Q are owned by the same company that own Screwfix. Screwfix have a brillant website and have click and collect off to a tee.
B&Q have a naff website that says up date your browser, does not always go through to payment, sometimes you think you have not completed when it has. When you get to the store their stock control is awful and takes ages to find the items if at all.
I am amazed B&Q are still in business. or why they do not implement Screwfix system.

This deal looks like a bag of spanners.
Have ordered several things off here at B&Q .They take your money and then you call to pick up at your local store and they haven't got your order and blame there ordering system. You then have to wait for your money back .AVOID

It's a bit on the small side for a towel warmer
I have one of these in my kitchen and it's more of a towel warmer than a radiator. Doesn't provide much (if any) warmth to the room.
I had a chrome bathroom rad but it rusted fairly quickly. Ended up paying a considerable amount more for a stainless steel one which has been perfect. Once you factor in the cost of someone to install it (if you’re not au fait with plumbing and welding), I think it’s worth paying the premium for stainless steel.

Some people still have gravity fed hot water systems. Mixer taps don't work too well if hot and cold pressures are very different. No fuss really if you have a modern boiler as you can set boiler water temp to 42 if you want 'hand hot' water or put the plug in the sink and actually conserve some water and energy.. Some people still have lead pipes, there's a legacy more worthy of discussion.
Are some taps just rebranded but from the same factory? I was having a look at kitchen taps online. The cost considerably varies. Some cost double but the taps look identical but given a different name. Unsure if places are gaining vast profits or if dearer ones are actually better quality.

Lack of full HD is not a deal breaker on a screen this size, the screen looks perfectly good to me. You can find them cheaper with 2GB ram but i swapped my 2GB for a 4GB model (same as the one you highlight) and it runs much smoother as i prefer to work with multiple chrome tabs/apps open. This has a touch screen which the majority of Play Store apps are written for. Still have my desktop that i use for serious work but my laptop mostly gathers dust as the chromebook is much more convenient for surfing and playing media especially when away from home. The battery life is awesome.

The R11 is highly rated and well liked 4Gb version is worth going for definitely. Would post it on HDUK again when they are £200.

Received mine yesterday. It looked to be a return as the fittings bag was ripped and tape ripped on boxes.

First thoughts are that I can't see how this would be any better than the supposed DIY store vortex fittings. It's quite heavy with the bulb housings fitted and can see why they recommend securing to a joist. If you ever damage the key you're in trouble, or even if the nuts become tight over time due to heat expansion, then the key may struggle to remove without breaking.

Been using the cutters from these daily at work and i have been pretty impressed like i said above if they last 6 months then i'll be happy.
Normally go for C.K. or Knipex and they last well for maybe 18 months.
Good price for what these are. 1000V is a whole different ballgame (Knipex from Germany is supposed to be the gold standard at this level), but I wouldn't be too concerned about using them on any 240V jobs.
Impressive that they apparently have the VDE certification.

Got mine from a Homebase in Birmingham (not sure of the official location, but was near QE Hospital ) but stock is store dependent, so if you need enough to do all doors in your house, you may need to travel to find sufficient quantities.
And what stores are these from please?
Original Poster
Brand is Ikonic.

just fitted one on our bedroom door (entrance type with key operated lock). Replaced handles with 50mm backset (these are adjustable 60 or 70mm) so a bit of drilling required. I had to open out the centre hole to give clearance for the hardware as it was rubbing when the the retaining screws were tightened and the handle was operated. Also had to sink the latch part on the door frame as it quite deep. I used a step drill (cone drill), to open out the holes in the door, which made the job quite easy. Instructions say to use a 54mm hole saw when fitting them to a new door, but this is not possible when you already have a hole, so the step drill is a good alternative.
End result was well worth it. They are chunky and feel good quality, and look very nice once fitted.
Took a couple of hours, but I am no craftsman!
What make and model of door handles are these please?
Picked up 4 handles in satin chrome. Look and feel nice. Very heavy and appear good quality. Alot deeper mechanism in door so had to drill out my door etc to suit but much improved. Note i didnt measure my doors or existing handles hence drilling but could be done with little work if existing handles are same
