The beer went straight through the top vent onto the HSF and caught fire, scary moment trying to blow it out lol, absolutely stunk, killed the Zalman and the Mobo was melted, CPU was fine as was GPU and PSU, lesson learned.

You seem quite disconnected from reality.

Boyf got a tempered glass screen protector for the Galaxy Tab 3, 8" which fits his Linx 8 pretty well! Not perfect of course, but the capacitive Windows button still works perfectly and it makes the screen that little bit tougher.

Has anyone tried any Swype-style keyboards (which I love so much on my Android devices)? I downloaded Touchpal X touchpal.com/en/…tml but can't seem to get it to work properly, or do the "swipe" even with "Touchpal Curve" enabled. The download itself is from November 2013, so it's pretty ancient!

I commented on the Linxtablet.co.uk forums wondering aloud if generic tempered glass screen protectors could fit the Linx 8 or 10. linxtablet.co.uk/vie…292 (turns out the Galaxy Tab 2 is a better fit, but the breadth is still too big ).

I'll report back on my findings with the one I bought for my Linx 10.

Anyone curious to know which one, I went for this ebay.co.uk/itm…603 (£4.89 delivered from the UK). My logic being that I'm already using a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1" Samsonite case (from Poundland, albeit a tad tight), thinking the screen protector may fit. That and the squared-off gap might be good for the capacitive Windows button.

For the Linx 8, wondered if this would do the job (tempered glass protector for the Bush MyTablet 8", Windows) ebay.co.uk/itm…753 (£6.99, though :()

Might be worth a punt.

Edit: Also Linx 8. (I assume) this one has the squared cut-off also, £4.50 delivered from China. ebay.co.uk/itm…091 (best to copy/paste, direct link doesn't work for this one - for Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, 8" originally).

Was finding the speakers a little quiet after being so used to my Nook HD+. Downloaded DFX Plus Audio Enhancer and it's much better Haven't tried headphones yet.

By the way, there's even better refurb deals for the Linx 7 & 8 (same price at £53.94, you'd be a fool to go for the 7!) and 10 (£113.95) at Bargain Crazy, using a £20 off voucher code.

hotukdeals.com/dea…837

Edit: Looks like the 8 is OOS

Another Edit, months later: Don't know if it's Windows 10 clashing, but DFX stopped working. I'm now using Bongiovi Audio Enhancer.
