Cheers for the reply. I'm also in Northern Ireland and genuinely amazed it can take such a large company over a week from "despatch" to deliver here. Hopefully I'll get a call tomorrow, I'll just have to put up with my tiny bedroom TV for few more days! (annoyed)

wingedvictory

I ended up phoning them and they weren't terribly helpful, other than having to wait at least 7 working days. Because I'm in Northern Ireland, it takes a lot longer apparently (yet Amazon can still do next day delivery?). I got a call from the delivery people today and it's coming on Wednesday.

nistel

Did you manage to get anywhere with customer service? I'm in pretty much the same situation (annoyed)

garethcollins925

I got this TV from John Lewis for £324 at Christmas.

Expensive compared to the 55" MU6400 for a couple of quid more in the last few days unfortunately.

MIDURIX

Wow, there's no need to be so rude. Can you not see that MU6500 at £911 and MU9000 at £1000, makes the MU6500 cold relative to the MU9000. Here's my deal for the same TV you've posted: https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/samsung-ue65mu6500-65-mu6500-curved-ultra-hd-hdr-smart-tv-839-prc-direct-2868273?page=1#comments-last That was for £839 vs this deal at £911 and my deal was many months ago. That's another reason why I think this deal is cold. I'm not insulting you or having a go at you, I just think baring many things in mind this deal is cold. Many people actually say whenever you vote cold you should give a reason, but with people like you around I don't think anyone should bother. I posted the MU7000 for more than the MU9000 because I didn't see the MU9000 deal, people pointed that out and to be honest I couldn't care less and I certainly didn't and wouldn't call people names due to me posting a less than hot deal. That deal btw got to 227 degrees and I don't think that's very hot and in truth with the MU9000 being cheaper was actually a very poor deal, but you keep protecting your precious deal like a baby and insult people who comment on the deal.

philjstephenson

Oh dear, it did get hot, 90+ degrees and besides most genuine users of this site dont do it for front page views, they do it to help out other genuine users of the site... i really dont understand why your so bitter about it, why not go have a lie down and chill out.... what a douche!

MIDURIX

Well it didn't reach 100 degrees and get on the front page, so not very hot. I'm sure I posted this TV for cheaper a while ago. If its MU6500 for £911 and MU9000 for £1000, you would have to be mad to get the 6500.

philjstephenson

And yet its not, hmmm, maybe your "opinion" isnt shared by other discerning users who know a bargain when they see one eh?

MIDURIX

There is no comparison between this and the MU9000 (which is a tiny bit more expensive), so this really should be freezing cold.

Depends on what you mean by that really. It's a true RGB 4K panel and can accept a HDR signal, but it has no local dimming and a fairly low peak brightness of ~400 nits, so the impact of it is going to be pretty limited. It'd probably be better to think of it as a good SDR TV, which is going to probably be 90% of the content that you view on it anyway.] As for as close as it could be at this price point - yes.

So is this true 4K HDR or as close as it can be at this price? 🙃

Ok not sure how many examples you want but thanks to this site I’ve had Bluetooth speakers for 100% off. Phone case for 100% off. Sonos set up for £600 and those are just the deals I’ve been lucky enough to come across on here. Point is misprices do occur and sometimes get honoured. I’m never one to feel those deals have to be honoured but nor do I feel I need to be ‘sectioned’ to think that they might get honoured.

ezzer72

I knew that was going to be the example, pity I couldn't place a bet on it. A) massive one off B) Pretty sure that still wasn't 84% off

Provide proof that step 3 does not apply to your interest free claims. I am more than happy to be wrong. The interest free terms and conditions to the offer you are referring to must be somewhere. If there is a rule on here about how many deals someone has to post then I haven't seen it. What you missed is that I have no problem with people taking out finance, and actually think for some items it is sensible, a car, a house etc. However the financial decision I was referring to in the lease deal was leasing a new car v buying a used car. If someone in here said why buy a new 50" portable when you can get a 12" black and white TV off of gumtree instead then I would think it equally stupid as people saying similar in a lease deal. Make sense? Btw no idea how many deals or comments you have made, because I'm not sad enough to care...

BristolBillyBob

It was your hypocrisy that I was pointing out not your opinion on finance. You rolled your eyes over on that thread with "There is something about a lease deal that makes everyone want to give their opinion on ... other people's financial choices" then do precisely that over here. With over 3,500 comments and one solitary deal to your name in two years, you might contribute to the HUKD community more if you find and share some deals yourself rather than spending your time arguing over other people's?

CoeK

Leasing a car isn't the same as buying a TV. Unless you are buying a 18k TV.

lumsdot

looks like this is a VA lcd panel , so may not be too bad. edge lit , so hdr may not be great, but i prefer edge lit as it stop the tv from being too bright, especially when ads come on

lonesomepuppet

Thankyou , much appreciated

Yeah, the surprising thing for me is that there aren't movies available to stream on 4K on Netflix - so really just Netflix and Amazon series and a few made-for-TV movies. I believe Sky Q has Ultra HD movies and sport but don't know whether this is just some content. In my opinion, unless you're sitting close to the TV, it's not THAT much better than 1080 HD - probably would be on bigger sizes though.. Finally worth mentioning the sound is excellent on this TV - packs a punch without any distortion.

BHOY56

Same here. I've got a 5yo Samsung 3d smart TV but I don't think there's enough 4k content around at the moment to justify an upgrade.. In saying that, I'd love to get an LG B7 Oled :)

MBCH

Thanks so much! Would you say that the whole 4K "thing" has only been relevant to Netflix then? I am a real newbie to this....and don't know whether it is a worthwhile upgrade from my 5 year old LG, 49" HD tv?

Don't watch SD, HD is brilliant far better than LCD/LED, bluray very good to.

Hicksyboy

So tempted to get a LG B7. Whats standard definition channels like it on though? It still bothers me about the lack of 4K content and I’ve heard that it doesn’t upscale SD pictures very well and if anything makes them worse.

nelson1j

Am two weeks into using an LG B7 and am blown away with it. Purchased it to watch 4K football on SkyQ and HDR, amazing value/PQ, and paid £1479 from Richer Sounds. Can't see their being any significant difference in PQ to justify the extra cost and the 5 year shorter warranty.

Get a brand new EZ952 for the same price. Better tv and no chance of bricking unlike the A1. Google it...

Smaybelline

It's only a little bit more at Currys for this brand new. We just bought one 2 weeks ago. It's fantastic, and it's not all about the picture - don't forget the sound on this beats any LG! Currys dropped the price by £300 the day after we bought it so they refunded due to their price promise. There is a great video on You Tube by Vincent a TV reviewer and he gives the best settings for the TV, set it like he says and picture is out of this world!

I paid more than i wanted to and bought the lg b7 oled. Nearly every other tv around the same size was either more expensive or the hdr side of things was terrible. The oled is absolutely the best tv I've ever owned, also most expensive.

WaxMechaniK

I'd be interested to know what TV you bought instead and what price? I think the dark room problems would be a big issue for me as its only really used in darkness...

prezesmaks

28ms whether HDR or SDR. Decent.

CRTB

I have this set, and can confirm the top picture is correct whilst the other 2 are not - I can tell by the feet/stand it's on. Also I should add its an excellent set, I've had no issues with it whatsoever after getting it for a similar price around black Friday last year. The menus are snappy, the built-in Amazon and Youtube apps works great (not tried Netflix as I don't have it), and it's just been g fantastic buy. Just make sure you have either a large cabinet stand it on or buy a new stand - Those feet are a looong way apart and wouldn't fit on our existing table. Or of course you could wall mount.

Purchased this tv a couple of weeks ago but had to send it back as smart tv apps namely iPlayer and Itv hub wouldn't stream. The firmware was updated to latest version but still had problems. As the tv is relatively new I expect further firmware updates from Philips . The picture is ok for the price. HD channels was fine but I would not recommend for sports fans as there was a great deal of motion blur. SD FREEVIEW was awful so much blocking and artefacts. Regarding freeview play guide only iPlayer programmes were flagged as watchable. With my 4 year old Panasonic tv I could browse through the guide and still have a view of what is on the tv with the Philips you can't see what is on and browse. There are no IPTV apps to date that you can upload a m3u file so that may be restrictive for some. Ambilight is a nice feature but above all it's about picture quality and this is where the tv for me doesn't quite hit the mark. 4k is fine from what I watched on YouTube but as mentioned previously the motion blur was off putting.

I bought the 43 inch version, when it was on offer on Amazon. This model is actually pretty good for the price. The black levels are really decent, and the colours were popping when I tried Blue Planet 2 on iPlayer, they had a special 4k hdr version, since expired now. I've played some 4k videos from YouTube, black level test promo ones for LG TVs, and it looked great also on this, black was black, and the colours popped. Zelda botw on the Switch looks great and upscales pretty well for 1080p. Only real negative I have found, the viewing angles are pretty crap, you literally have to be directly infront, or up to 30° at most, of the colours start washing out. Netflix HDR content, looks really dark, colours dark. Not like the normal 4k content on there or youtube etc. Have tried Punisher and daredevil which are so dark/dull. Ps4 with horizon zero dawn the same story, the colours look flat and a a little dark, looks much better without hdr. Editbashi12th Jan

Has anyone claimed the Samsung UHD BD Player discount offer? I've done the 10 free TV Plus movie rentals and the voucher codes are showing but they make it as difficult as possible! I'm wondering if you have to buy the BD player at the same time as the TV or if there is a post-TV purchase deadline period to make up your mind. waysan

I'm not sure but as someone said above it looks like finding unbiased online reviews for many things is getting harder these days. I looked again yesterday and there still are no meaningful reviews for this set. All I can say is that I am very disappointed with it and regret believing the general good feeling towards Hisense as a budget competitor and should have gone for a Samsung or even LG for not much more. That said, the 45inch size is perfect for my alcove and was a big reason for going for this set.

johnf007

this tv has only got negative reviews in the comments section here. This never usually happens with Hisense, they usually get decent comments. Why is this one so poor?

a123123

That doesnt mean much though. Its the model that matters within the range. The bottom of the range LG might be poor, the top of the range LG OLED might be great, that both are LG made doesnt tell you enough information.

Sure you will be happy with the Samsung and you got a good price. Soundbars are as hard to pick as a TV and are just as subjective 🙈 If I was to recommend one to keep you as close to £850 total as possible it would be the YAMAHA YAS107 7.1 Sound Bar. Read up on it - for under £200 I think its one of the best personally. Sure there are lots who are better but they are commanding a much higher price. This is a great budget friendly option! Currys have on sale at the min - not sure if it is cheaper anywhere else tho.

Agahnim1

Bit the bullet today got bored want to start seeing so,e 4K content. Went for the 7000. Any sound bars you'd recommend? Thanks

brum

Mu9000 v mu7000 Only from what ive read up on Better blacks Better sound Better stand (matters to some) More premium build quality (subjective) Better / more acurate colour Are the biggest things. Not sure if the 7000 comes with smart remote which you can talk to and it does stuff ? 9000 has that and a normal one.

KS was quantum dot and has been replaced this year by the QLED range - Hence the MU range is not the next evolution of KS range. If you can get a KS7000 new and with 5 year warrenty at a similar price point to MU7000 then I would say go for it... but they are like hens teeth. Best I have seen lately was a re-boxed KS7000 with 1 year warrenty at £50 more than the MU7000 brand new with 5 year. I have been impressed with my MU7000 in all lighting conditions for the £700 price and it will certainly do for a while until LED technology has progressed to a further improved evolution. Seeing what Micro LED begins to deliver this year will be very interesting and I expect impressive - but then them hitting a fair price point for the average household will take a little while I expect. :D
