Samsung 55 inch 2019 4K HDR TV UE55RU7400 - £540.10 with code at AO/ebay
Posted 14th JunPosted 14th Jun
Posted direct from AO the other day for 699 with 100 Samsung cash back. Their eBay store now has this for £599, less the 10% discount. So tempted

thats a 50 inch not a 55 inch

Back to 579. There are two listings https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F303115794194

The listing was reduced to 579 before discount for a short while. Back to 599 now

How do you get the extra £20 off before discount? Shows as £539.10 for me??

I'd assume it has Freesat. It has a DVB-S2 satellite input, and all LG TVs that I've come across have the Freesat EPG. Curry's / Argos list this model as having Freesat, and I'd be very surprised if it didn't.

Anyone know if this comes with Freesat? Can’t seem to find any info on this

Yeah web OS, constant updates to apps etc. Has had very good support in the year and a bit I've had my TV, my next will be an LG definitely

Thanks! I'll stick with the Philips i ordered (y)

Is that WebOs? I have it on my tv which is several years old. Whilst the interface was never as snappy as I’d liked, I have been impressed with the continual updatesthey’ve pushed out, they haven’t just forgotten about older TVs. Each time it makes the os a little smoother

Have they got any offers where I can trade in my older 43 inch LG hdtv ?

TV this size is repaired on site by their own contractor. Took them a week or so to get original LG LEDs but ordered these before coming out ( mine had sound but dark screen ) This was in the last month of the warranty

From my experience Richer Sounds are excellent when it comes to warranty/support issues. They won't shirk their responsibilities.

How are the blacks in this monitor? Is it washed out or anything?

Has anyone had any experience of having to use the 6 year warranty with Richer sounds ? Do they collect , repair if possible (as long as it's not accidental damage ) and then deliver back in a reasonable time frame ? Than you in advance.

It’s amazon so it’s free returns anyway. Admittedly it would have to be taken to royals mail/collect point but I have never had a return questioned by Amazon.

Have you ever had to return a TV though? Do you know how much hassle and cost it will be to return this? Just not worth it.

Why are you screwed? I have bought a number of things from various European amazons and have never had a problem returning to uk.

Great price, but it's from Amazon Italy. If something goes wrong with it, you're screwed, so huge risk.

Don't worry about heat. Post your deals , buy them if you think they merit a purchase and ignore what temp they go on here. Don't just post random "deals" for heat though. Gets you nothing..

Interesting.. not aware of this

Its 60hz not 120hz. Samsung's "Motion Rate" term also includes motion interpolation, they class 60hz as 120, and 120hz as 240. See this article at rtings for more info: https://www.rtings.com/tv/learn/fake-refresh-rates-samsung-clear-motion-rate-vs-sony-motionflow-vs-lg-trumotion

I have purchased from Argos after doing a bit of research and I’m quite pleased with this television as I feel it is an excellent value for money. I’m trying to answer some of the questions posted before based on my observation. 1. This has 120 Hz motion rate as far as I know and I haven’t really experienced any bleeding issues so I can’t comment. 2. Memory is a concern however I spoke with Samsung support and the teams are working on this issue. The temporary fix was to use a memory stick when the memory is less than 1%. 3. I have really considered this Tele because of Apple TV app and it works. Feel free to comment.

Used to happen to me on my samsung tv too. Turned out the hdmi was in the wrong slot. You could also try changing the resolution on console to 1080p or 1080i.

There aren't any widespread reported issues with backlight bleed / blooming. / clouding on the NU7400 series, so you may just have been unlucky. The previous MU6400 series (specifically the 49" version) had major issues with backlight bleed. My own personal 55NU7400 has excellent grey and black uniformity, with no backlight bleed at all. IPS makes a big difference because the worse contrast and poor black level performance makes issues with bleed/blooming/clouding more easily noticed. LG get a lot of complaints for their IPS panels.

I've always said, if it's a faulty product, its gonna happen within the first year or two.

Ignore Amazons usual half-baked descriptions - it is indeed 60hz 60hz as your comparison site suggested. It’s a tough toss up in my mind trading 3 additional years of warranty vs the Bluetooth and extra hdmi 2.0 port. Realistically, manufacturer problems would arise within two years, right?

Yes you are right, its a different model my apologies!

Can you confirm which RS store ? And are ppl finding theres a big variation in how generous a particular RS store is?

Brilliant of your RS store. I'm hoping to do this with exact same deal. JL successfully matched district for £1259. I would strongly suggest paying a little more for something not a Vestel. They really are awful. If you are unsure nip into Currys and look at one next to even something cheap like a Hisense and see the difference.
