Right! This is an on-line only deal. I know this because I've just fagged to the Stretford Costco, and came away empty handed. I still think it's a good deal, but it is deffo not available to pick up in store. I did try to buy another tv but one can't pay with a credit card in-store. Hope this is useful.

Not quite that simple when it comes to splitters

An HDMI splitter is just a digital repeater, it recieve the signal as binary and then repeats it in all outputs. There should be no loss in quality and as the other poster said, digital degredation is really obvious.

You get cheap passive splitters but they are obvious when they aren't working as you get digital breakup and handshake issues.

It was your hypocrisy that I was pointing out not your opinion on finance. …It was your hypocrisy that I was pointing out not your opinion on finance. If there is a rule on here about how many deals someone has to post then I haven't seen it.

What you missed is that I have no problem with people taking out finance, and actually think for some items it is sensible, a car, a house etc. However the financial decision I was referring to in the lease deal was leasing a new car v buying a used car.

If someone in here said why buy a new 50" portable when you can get a 12" black and white TV off of gumtree instead then I would think it equally stupid as people saying similar in a lease deal. Make sense?

Btw no idea how many deals or comments you have made, because I'm not sad enough to care...

Yeah, the surprising thing for me is that there aren't movies available to stream on 4K on Netflix - so really just Netflix and Amazon series and a few made-for-TV movies. I believe Sky Q has Ultra HD movies and sport but don't know whether this is just some content. In my opinion, unless you're sitting close to the TV, it's not THAT much better than 1080 HD - probably would be on bigger sizes though.. Finally worth mentioning the sound is excellent on this TV - packs a punch without any distortion.
Oh and the smart TV apps are excellent too - very slick and Netflix looks amazing

Tempted! Anyone own this TV please?

Lots of people saying on other deals it’s only 2.8k - I have a LG TV 4K HDR and I love it - was really impressed in the store and even happier when I got it home - Harden Kardon sound on mine is spot on as well not sure if this one has that or the magic remote - personally happy with any remote and if you need better sound always can get a sound bar

This is the same on AO website.First picture the TV has a really slim top bezel and what looks like silver metal more angular standSecond & third pictures have large top bezel and what looks like a black less angular stand.

I have this set, and can confirm the top picture is correct whilst the other 2 are not - I can tell by the feet/stand it's on.

Also I should add its an excellent set, I've had no issues with it whatsoever after getting it for a similar price around black Friday last year. The menus are snappy, the built-in Amazon and Youtube apps works great (not tried Netflix as I don't have it), and it's just been g fantastic buy.

Just make sure you have either a large cabinet stand it on or buy a new stand - Those feet are a looong way apart and wouldn't fit on our existing table. Or of course you could wall mount.

Hopefully Q7/8/9 should get down to this price in the next few months, then I'll bite.

Purchased this tv a couple of weeks ago but had to send it back as smart tv apps namely iPlayer and Itv hub wouldn't stream.

The firmware was updated to latest version but still had problems. As the tv is relatively new I expect further firmware updates from Philips .

The picture is ok for the price. HD channels was fine but I would not recommend for sports fans as there was a great deal of motion blur.
SD FREEVIEW was awful so much blocking and artefacts.
Regarding freeview play guide only iPlayer programmes were flagged as watchable.

With my 4 year old Panasonic tv I could browse through the guide and still have a view of what is on the tv with the Philips you can't see what is on and browse.

There are no IPTV apps to date that you can upload a m3u file so that may be restrictive for some.

Ambilight is a nice feature but above all it's about picture quality and this is where the tv for me doesn't quite hit the mark.
4k is fine from what I watched on YouTube but as mentioned previously the motion blur was off putting.

Had my Samsung screen replaced by JL after nearly 4 years, came to my home and fitted, also had 2 faulty remotes replaced, great service.
I bought the 43 inch version, when it was on offer on Amazon.

This model is actually pretty good for the price. The black levels are really decent, and the colours were popping when I tried Blue Planet 2 on iPlayer, they had a special 4k hdr version, since expired now.

I've played some 4k videos from YouTube, black level test promo ones for LG TVs, and it looked great also on this, black was black, and the colours popped.

Zelda botw on the Switch looks great and upscales pretty well for 1080p.

Only real negative I have found, the viewing angles are pretty crap, you literally have to be directly infront, or up to 30° at most, of the colours start washing out.

Netflix HDR content, looks really dark, colours dark. Not like the normal 4k content on there or youtube etc. Have tried Punisher and daredevil which are so dark/dull. Ps4 with horizon zero dawn the same story, the colours look flat and a a little dark, looks much better without hdr.

Has anyone claimed the Samsung UHD BD Player discount offer? I've done the 10 free TV Plus movie rentals and the voucher codes are showing but they make it as difficult as possible!

I'm wondering if you have to buy the BD player at the same time as the TV or if there is a post-TV purchase deadline period to make up your mind. I think you need to buy from the same supplier as well?

I'm not sure but as someone said above it looks like finding unbiased online reviews for many things is getting harder these days. I looked again yesterday and there still are no meaningful reviews for this set. All I can say is that I am very disappointed with it and regret believing the general good feeling towards Hisense as a budget competitor and should have gone for a Samsung or even LG for not much more. That said, the 45inch size is perfect for my alcove and was a big reason for going for this set.

Sure you will be happy with the Samsung and you got a good price.

Soundbars are as hard to pick as a TV and are just as subjective 🙈

If I was to recommend one to keep you as close to £850 total as possible it would be the YAMAHA YAS107 7.1 Sound Bar.

Read up on it - for under £200 I think its one of the best personally.

Sure there are lots who are better but they are commanding a much higher price. This is a great budget friendly option!

This TV also is reported to have some noticeable backlight clouding flaws although I cannot vouch for this personally.I recently went with the MU7000 from JL at the same price match deal you have and am very happy with it. You may then want to consider investing the other £150 you didn't spend on the 9000 on a soundbar if you don't have one already.I am willing to bet £850 spend on the 55MU7000 + bar will give you a much better viewing experience for your £ than going for the 9000 alone

Bit the bullet today got bored want to start seeing so,e 4K content. Went for the 7000. Any sound bars you'd recommend? Thanks
Mu9000 v mu7000

Better blacks
Better sound
Better stand (matters to some)
More premium build quality (subjective)
Better / more acurate colour
Are the biggest things.

Not sure if the 7000 comes with smart remote which you can talk to and it does stuff ? 9000 has that and a normal one.

KS was quantum dot and has been replaced this year by the QLED range - Hence the MU range is not the next evolution of KS range.

If you can get a KS7000 new and with 5 year warrenty at a similar price point to MU7000 then I would say go for it... but they are like hens teeth. Best I have seen lately was a re-boxed KS7000 with 1 year warrenty at £50 more than the MU7000 brand new with 5 year.

I have been impressed with my MU7000 in all lighting conditions for the £700 price and it will certainly do for a while until LED technology has progressed to a further improved evolution.

Seeing what Micro LED begins to deliver this year will be very interesting and I expect impressive - but then them hitting a fair price point for the average household will take a little while I expect.

I put mine into movie mode, which dials down the over the top processing. Then change the individual settings from there.

The default Dynamic setting is awful (as is usual on TV's). All the detail is lost because it's far too processed.

I just bought it 2 weeks ago, overall very impressed, but i hate the light bleed around the bezel, it kinda annoying. But it's not visible when watching movies or gaming. Ive got the PS4 Pro hooked up and its awesome. Netflix on 4k and Dolby vision is crystal clear. Webos it top, aswell as the magic remote. I got it from ao.com for £1249 including a £40 discount.

I have this TV. I love it. Yes it has some minor light bleed if in the dark watching a very dark scene.

However, this situation accounts for about 1% of my viewing.

When watching normal TV or a normal film with the light on I can't see any bleed.

I have a Panasonic in 50" DX700 which was the same price as the Samsung (£600) and bought at the samee time. Both have great picture, but the Samsung user experience is way better than the Panasonic, which feels dated.

At this price is say the Samsung is a no brainer.

There's a .of of talk about light bleed. What is the likely hood of having light bleed repaired under a 5 year warranty? I have a SONY KDL55 which is starting to exhibit light bleed similar to the images. It's from JL with 2 years remaining. Is light bleed classed as a fault?

Yes this is the same one. Doubt you’ll get it later on. My one had the issues out the box. I guess it’s a bit of a lottery with these panels.

You may want try a movie in the dark with the borders, that’ll give a better indication of the light bleed issues.

Is it 49" that has major light bleed?

I bought the 40” version at the weekend end have no light bleed problems whatsoever.

It's a pity there is such little movement in price on the 55" version.

Most likely that 55” is the size where 4K really comes into its own. Anything smaller and the upgrade over 1080 is very small!

Can the switch not be plugged into one of the 2.0 inputs in the TV and then the audio passed down to the soundbar through the ARC port?

Definetly this over the LG, which uses a markedly inferior RGBW panel.
