Three options -

a) Follow their complaints procedure... once it gets to the ombudsman they'll either fix it or the ombudsman makes them.
b) A polite but pointed e-mail to the CEO also helps clear these type of things up faster too...
c) Be nice to the nerdy guy in CPW store, they'll have access to internal contacts and numbers to fix things.

Thank you that makes me feel better- I came back to order it after realising how good a deal it was!
Well I'm not desperate - it's for the missus - she dropped her phone in the sink and of course she can not longer FaceBook with it, I'm already paying £10/month with GiffGaff so an extra £5.99 made this deal seem very good (I was even going to stretch to the £17.99 for the 1Gb data version!)
She can use her laptop for FaceBook in the meanwhile (the phone stills works as a phone, texting isn't easy as the screen can't quite work), so I guess I should wait for the sales...

same thing happened with me. You phone up to cancel within 14 days. They wont do anything. They wont tell you. They will just deduct as much money as they can from your account, give you a bad credit rating and then get a debt collection company to continue chasing for payments that should have been cancelled but they deliberately fail to act on telephone requests. They will only act on written cancellations . All this for a £7 deal!! really the company is scum.

Weren't they doing 2.25GB for £5?
Took a rolling contract. Dropping signal and internet connection on daily basis. They run off Three network so I thought I'd have the same quality for less money. Unfortunately it wasn't the case. These sorts of gestures actually show what sort of company you are. Sounds a bit iffy doing a port with ID then, but actually quite glad you don't let customers switch to a better tariff as it prompted me to move elsewhere which gives me a better deal and with a good network, so worked out well.

So will I be safe porting out to a PAYG and porting back in? Timing will presumably be important to avoid paying too much on the PAYG (which I'll have to credit) and to not run the ID contracts concurrently for too long. Main thing is I can't risk losing my number.

How so, was it bad coverage? I thought three's network coverage was great.

Some people just like a whinge, I wouldn't worry

Coverage is so subjective it's pointless debating the relative merits. If people are happy with the coverage they get, great. But what's the point of saying "vodaphone's coverage is awesome, EE's is terrible" when it's just what works for them and, in general, EE have much better coverage of the UK?

Here's what happened:1) Called customer services; they said they cannot deal with it, I have to go to a Carphone warehouse shop (which is pretty inconvenient and took almost 1h of _my precious_ time).2) The carphone warehouse shop assistent tells me he cannot do anything about it, not even a refund. He was very friendly and called the ID mobile hotline insisting the issue should be fixed. He managed to get the tech team involved.3) I didn't hear back for 3 business days. The clock was ticking on the 14 day statutory right to refund, so I called customer services again. He tried to send me to Carphone warehouse again. He was desperate to get rid of me and made several nonsense suggestions (like retrying the website which hadn't worked many times before). I had to insist that he contacts the tech team or escalates it somehow - otherwise I would need a refund and if nessecary I would pass on the matter to a small claims court. He almost hang up on me. Finally he gave in and contacted the tech team.I think two days later the issue was fixed. ID Mobile didn't tell me (via text/email), I simply retried. My suggestions:a) give refunds more easily if you cannot deal with issues at the beginning of payg/contract. I hadn't spend any money on my payg sim yet.b) communicate progress more clearly and when the problem is fixed.c) create a ticket for the issue and track it. I think customer services didn't know I had called before, didn't know if tech support had looked into it and didn't know the status.d) improve your tech backend or teach customer services how to deal with (common?) problems. It's ridiculous that the website didn't allow to reset the password for a payg account.I'm not working for you, but it felt like I did.

Hi jomay,

We are disapointed to hear that our Customer Service Team sent you into your local Carphone Warehouse Store, you're aware that they are unable to help and we understand that this must have been frustrating.

Not just poor customer service - incompetent - after requesting termination of contract and paying for 2 additional months they still did nothing and were still taking money via direct debit. I refused to pay and they then took £130 from my bank account and gave me a bad credit rating which has affected it badly and I will continue to suffer for the next 5 years. This for a £5 deal. This feels like a burglary to me.

It is sold as one month rolling but they take out the equivalent of 2 years when you cancel - even within the notice period. The company is staffed by liars and crooks.

NO NO NO UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES GO WITH THE **** COMPANY TO EXIST SINCE UMBRELLA COROPORATION..
I took out a SIM only deal with them to cancel it 7 days later, due to crap coverage in my area. Agreed on the phone and within t&cs this could be done without any issue. I destroyed the sin and I cancelled the direct debit but without telling me they continued to bill me. I called them 9 times over a 5month period each time took 30mins to get through to someone who had no idea to deal with my case. Each then told me not to worry it would be sorted.
Then they set the debt collectors on me for £25 I didn't owe them. After more phone calls and still no resolution, slaying them on Facebook and Twitter was the only way they would sort it. A **** COMPANY with a shocking attitude towards customers. So with all the time equalling a full days work and the stress of debt collectors they refused to offer me any compensation... use Plusnet they are cheaper and their customer service is amazing.

With ID mobile its not as simple as switching - you have to give 30 days notice and depending on when you give notice you have to pay for that month and the next month - or in my case also the following month and then another month... until I decided they have taken enough of my money and just cancelled my direct debit from my bank. She went to our local CPW and selected an ID SIM monthly deal. Activated it on her current Samsung S6 with her PAC code from O2 (to retain her number) and all was well for 3 hours. She got a message saying "sorry you are leaving ID", and called ID up to sort it out as her phone had reverted to PAYG. 35 mins in a queue she got through and was told repeatedly that it would take 5 days to reactivate her monthly account. She did not want to be without her phone number for 5 days and so asked for a PAC code so she could get straight out of this mess. The ID rep then said it would take 6 days to generate a PAC and 3-5 days to sort her monthly service. The wife was quite sure that a PAC code can be generated instantly but the rep was having none of it and wanted the wife to wait 5 days for things to sort themselves out. Half an hour of arguing later (65 mins on the phone total) for a PAC code and she terminated the call and went to CPW. The CPW rep rang ID and asked for a PAC code and was met with the same untrue story that it takes days to get a PAC code The CPW rep told the ID rep that he was lying and a PAC code can be generated instantly. The ID rep relented and gave up the PAC code and my wife ended up with a new contract on an S8 price matched to Mobilephones.co.uk, with the EE network. No way will we try ID again.

Hi monkeyhander75, it is disappointing to hear that your Wife faced these issues during her short time with iD Mobile, it is alarming to hear that her contact was disconnected without her consent. We appreciate that you do not wish to continue with iD Mobile, however, we would like to feedback your complaint regarding your Customer Service Experience, no customer should be treated in the way you have described. Please message us over on Facebook or Twitter with the full complaint details; we will then escalate this to the Customer Service Team Managers and this will be addressed internally and used to make improvements going forward. Thank you for your time.

I relly don't know what you can do to help, my wife was treated very shabbily recently by ID and we've both vowed to avoid ID in future.

At the end of an O2 contract, my wife decided to go SIM only for a few months to let the Samsung S8's price drop a bit on a new contract.

After 2 emails id mobile have removed the trashed comments on my credit score
I got this sim 6 weeks ago and realised they have increased the minutes from 250 to 500. I called them to as if they can increase my current plan to match their current offer and got 508mins, 7581txts & 2.3GB data for the same £5 / month. Thats a good result if I may say so.
Looks like a great deal, especially now that all providers have free EU roaming (by law). ID used to have a terrible policy when it came to roaming abroad but now this looks like a very attractive offer

what's the catch?

I was with ID for two months and the catch is - when you buy a bundle you also have to top up £5 and no matter how carefully you manage your bundle your £5 will magically disappear - expect your bundle to cost £5 more than they advertise.
Does anyone know if these can be used with an old style 2G handset ? - I know '3' block customers who do that, but was wondering if it worked the same with ID Mobile (as they use 3's network).

It is now sorted via facebook, you have repaid the money I paid after … It is now sorted via facebook, you have repaid the money I paid after admitting that your Customer Services were wrong and had not deactivated my second sim when requested. ID had sent me a letter saying that you were going to pass the £10 debt to a debt collection agency - I hope that this has not affected my credit rating. It seems that if you want to get action from your ID you have to resort to places like this or social media, your Customer Services team are hopeless. When I said I was leaving their attitude was "ok great, we will disconnect on 18th March - have a nice day and is there anything else I can do for you?"

Hi bresslaw73, we are disappointed to hear you have not had a great service from the Customer Service Team, are you able to contact our Social Media Team with details of this? They will be able to escalate this to the Customer Services Managers to address. We appreciate you sharing this experience with us, we are always looking for ways in which we can improve our service and do rely on customer feedback to make sure the service we do offer is first class at all times.

If you speak to our Social Media Team they can also address your concerns regarding your credit file and can hopefully put your mind at ease.

I looked at this too and the cashback via Quidco is actually a better deal
Had 1 contract with them since September last year and another since January and not had any problems with either.

This isn't a good deal in my opinion - if you go through Quidco there's a fiver cashback and for £1 more you get 1gb of data.
also I cancelled in june and now I got a debt letter from them so I rang up kicking off saying I not paying so they cleared the debt but the account still active when I told them I cancelled and they said theres a delay

how can there be a delay when other contracts cancel it when you tell them to

only issue I got with them was the number wasn't new I was getting random calls and money being toted up on the cap for no reason and they don't even try to fix the issue when you say your leaving

I wouldn't touch ID mobile with a barge pole. Was with them for 4 months with nothing but network issues, poor customer service and additional charges placed on my account from numbers unknown to ID mobile but still attempting to charge me!
It's also on their website, it's a capped a £5 overspend. Personally I think the £5 sim only plan which is the same but with 1gb data. This is what I have used for my daughter.

I had 4gb of 4G but couldn't use 500mb as i never had a signal i stuck with it for 3 months until a friend rang the house and asked why my mobile was off when it was on and on the table infront of me. I contacted iD's **** poor customer service and they asked why i wanted to leave, i explained i couldn't get a signal they were not surprised. iD are a joke and its no wonder they give out loads on minutes and data its to tempt people to their service but most leave when they experience the poor signal and customer service. Im now with Life and have no such problems.

So you changed networks without checking whether the new network had a good signal in the places you spend the most time?

It's always worth grabbing a PAYG SIM to test how good the signal on a network you're thinking of signing a contract with is in the places you need it. It doesn't even have to be a SIM from the same MVNO, just one that uses the same actual network (Three, in iD's case).

Also, for what it's worth, iD aren't cheap because the signal is rubbish, they have the same signal as Three....for better or worse.
Can I switch to this if I'm already on ID?
