if you want to check in 1x 20Kg bag costs +£100 extra, a bit cheeky

Check on Flightradar24, they've got plenty of Dreamliners in the air right now.

Let’s hope they don’t go bust by then.

Just booked a hotel through Agoda for NY arriving new years eve and a few days after. 20 min walk from Times Square, £551 for 4 nights, that's for 4 sharing one room with 2 double beds and a massive 30 sq meter room! Their prices were around half of most others. Free cancellation too

Each of those is great, its just a bit too random. Both Multi-trip and gap year still need to leave from the UK and return.

As a tight Yorkshireman, i have flown Air China once and i vowed never to be as tight as i was then... Now if any other airline comes up for the place i want to fly to... i will take the other airline. The aircraft looked like it had not been cleaned in about 5 years, food / service was shocking... the IFE was so slow, i thought it was running on a BBC computer... The flight was empty, but no way am i flying with them again... I flew to MNL from LHR.... BTW their hub is rubbish.... I cannot really say anything good about the airline apart from it's cheap... https://www.airlinequality.com/airline-reviews/air-china/

This is more designed as part of a multi city trip or ideal for someone who was on a gap year etc.

ShopCom123

Thanks for this. Was price watching flights last year and some Virgin flights to Hong Kong came out at a good price but as soon as you click through and it lists Virgin it says "check availability at Virgin Atlantic" and then the prices are like double on the virgin website.

jambone

You need to be careful which company you book through. Always book through the actual airline with a credit card where possible. Otherwise make sure you get some sort of ATOL protection. Some let you buy it as an add on when booking flights for anywhere between £2.50-£20

basically the same as any other 787 flight, only difference being was the fact you have to buy your own food (brought 3 pret rolls onboard) and the movie selection was a bit average (had my ipad anyway) . The staff were amazing also!!!

I was born in Brazil, lived for 32 years there and never visited Rio de Janeiro. Brazil has great weather, food and the nature is amazing, unfortunately the security is a major concern(specially in Rio de Janeiro).

Yes, its the full monty. 2 x 20kg (not 23) bags, all meals and drinks, seat choice..... and WiFi...... Plus the pitch is much much bigger than BA On that note though, it seems Norwegian have just put their prices up. Last week their Premium flights to MIA / FLL / MCO were all £499 - now its showing as £599. That said, its still worth paying the extra.

Direct return flight from London Heathrow to New York. Virgin Atlantic 27th August 2019. 4th September 2019. £275
Uranus

Book directly with the airline. Travel Trolley are a dodgy online agent with countless complaints against them. Search on tripadvisor for plenty of real life negative experiences posted by their customers. Always book directly with the airlines, even if it means paying a few quid more. It is worth it for the added peace of mind if there are problems.

N3ildb

Pod 51 will be walkable to Central Park is about 20mins but the park is huge so depends where to wanted to go. Time square is further and probably with using the subway (if you’re brave) or a hop on hop off tourist bus. I found the subway fun but it’s a little complained with express trains and Very Dirty!!

shelliebish

I agree... so cold in Feb that the lake in Central Park was frozen solid! On a positive note, it does keep a lot of the seedier characters away from Times Square so it’s actually quite pleasant! Been Feb and April ... the difference is staggering!

If this included baggage allowance it would be a pretty good price, but I've paid less than this including baggage with Virgin from Mancheter in the last couple of years so that kind of lowers the value to me for this unfortunately. Not bad if you can manage a week on hand luggage though!

Sky scanner results are often unreliable. The airlines seem to offer a few very cheap flights, whether or not they actually exist, I don't know, but if you check back later they've gone. Apparently, it's a well know tactic

Guys, what you really want to find is flights via Skyscanner with a travel agent called travelup. They add in baggage for less than what the airline would charge, I paid £281 a flight to New York, a few days ago including baggage....

@reindeer333. I hardly ever log into HUKD to post comments, but I just wanted to log in to say Thank you for taking the time/energy to post flight deals. I have bookmarked your profile, and check it daily for flight deals. I appreciate you receive a fair bit of hate, but I wanted to chuck my 2 cents in and say I personally love when you post these flight deals, so please keep posting them. It saves me having to do my own research so have some heat, and don't get put off by the haters!

reindeer333

Or you could check the links rather than just assuming it is skyscanner and just copying and pasting this sort of comment onto every flight deal. Many, many people book their own flights etc.. yes there are risks (just like doing anything) but there are huge savings to be made. Hell you only need another Eyjafjallajökull then you won't be going on your nice all inclusive to Ibiza XD

Uranus

Doesn't look like a single ticket which is always a bit risky but do'able depending on your circumstances, but at least this deal seems to be directly through the airline(s) so it's an improvement.

Its finances look a bit dodgy, but it should be Ok, make sure you take out insurance

We've just walked past here at 4pm and can say that quite a few people know about this as the queue was literally around the block. It was crazy busy! Can anyone recommend a car rental company to use for travelling from San Fran to Los Angeles? Its so confussing to know who to go with as prices seem to vary so much between sites. Thanks.

LeePark

We had the NY City Pass last summer for our visit and it seemed best value. In addition to all the normal sights on the card we used the bike hire with a shop near Central Park and one near the Brooklyn Bridge. The bike hire was unlimited with no extra costs so on different days we were able to tour both locations and just lock the bikes up when we went for a coffee or lunch. I think it’s the best way of seeing Central Park as it’s so big and the horse drawn buggies are expensive. For cheap lunch after you’ve smashed the hotel breakfast, try the $1 pizza shops or the hotdog stands which vary in price from $1 to $3 for the same thing so worth asking. Don’t eat at JFK Airport as really slow & expensive at the kiosks and worth having a meal or taking snacks before you fly. We used a yellow cab from the airport to the hotel and back. Much cheaper than the hotels taxi company that they tried to use as the yellow ones have set prices, just need to agree price first.

That was good advice until you told everyone!

lot of scaremongering on here. "reputable" Travel agents are also known for screwing things up from time to time too

Uranus

Wait till there are issues with flight cancellations or re-routes or other factors outside of your control. You'll then see why these rubbish online travel agents have numerous negative reviews. Just search for some of those companies on tripadvisor for example, and read the (literally) hundreds of complaints against each and every one of them.
