What can I say?! Thats just the current state of the market

I wanted an AMD Vega64 GPU and this deal is CURRENTLY the best price with availability, so I bit the bullet & made the decision to make the purchase.

btw - prices now back up to £949.

Eitherway, one can look at it as I saved £200 or paid over the odds by £200. (I do not believe it was ever available for less than £550)

Whatever the case may be, we all form part of the market and are affected by its prevailing conditions, I am no exception, therefore if one has a requirement for a product with a supply shortage that is in high demand ,then naturally one has to pay in accordance to the CURRENT market value.

For those who can wait, go ahead. The way I see it, the crypto craze is real, its here to stay and I do not see prices fall within the next quarter, if not the next 6 months, and that is despite of the rumours around Nvidia's new Ampere GPU's impending launch & release.
Must be trolling. HARD

No I mean if i'm getting a 2k monitor I will stick to 27" or smaller as 32" will be too big and 4k too expensive.
It's pretty good. 75Hz native, not just in freesync mode, didn't have any dead pixels on mine. The ghosting thing in darker scenes is lessened if you raise the gamma slightly so the panel doesn't have to work so hard. Stuff like Playerunknown's Battlegrounds is extremely good, I can pick out movement a mile away where it was a bit hard to focus on my 27 inch 1080p TN.

Weirdly if you flip it down to 1080p mode you have to add 75Hz as a custom resolution, just to keep in mind.

Short version is, if you're willing to go through the annoying AOC menu system to customise it how you want it, you'll be rewarded with a fabby and bargainous screen.

Personally I would go for this one if you have enough space to accommodate the heatsinks: overclockers.co.uk/tea…tml

Bigger savings as it's £9 cheaper now but more expensive without the offer. I'm still trying to figure out if there are other differences between the RAM apart from heatsinks and LEDs. The description on the manufacturer's web site suggest it may be slightly different design. The specification looks exactly the same though.

Kind of agree there -- it was a throw-down between the 32UD99 and this monitor for me. This one is cheaper and has a lot more workspace for similar money and I'd much rather have the extra real estate of an Ultrawide (I can take the slight hit on the resolution and can live without HDR for now until it catches on more in the PC space). Hmm, maybe. I was a member anyway. I don't think the requirements are high - may as well join now and post a bit if that's required for future deals.

eBuyer and a few of those others have questionable customer service no?

The thing is, with free postage overclockers can be the cheapest option.

This is an example, £4 less than Amazon with free postage, £4 more without.

So fair enough really. If you want them as the cheapest option sometimes, put the little bit of work in to get free postage.

I'd happilly pay £4 more to Overclockers than eBuyer when spending £100 to be honest.

Agreed! It's funny. I was looking at a 512SSD and 16GB RAM upgrade for a 2nd mini PC and the exact same combination is literally £100 more due mainly to silicon shortages. Factor in the current prices of GPUs and you're basically paying £200-400 more for a similar system with a 480 then last year...not a good time to be upgrading a PC! Hence why I'm prepared to wait for the 580 as not paying £100-200 more for no reason!

Bit gutted that this never lived up to the hype. A year too late imo. Wish AMD would just keep quiet about CPU and GPU launches that aren't imminent.

The 64 uses 20% power than even a 1080ti, and its built on a smaller fab.

No. For what little extra performance it would have given me at 2k, I don't think a 500-600 quid purchase is justified.

I'd rather just disable AA and get the frames up that way if I really have to. It is pretty much everything out though apart from GTA V. With Hairworks off and everything else maxed in The Witcher 3 I get 60-80fps at 1440p whereas my 970 never would have come close to that.

Anyone know if a 500w power supply would suffice?

Yep Alpha it has been discussed before;500watts is fine as long as you don't overclock any components or sli.

Will that work with xbox one?

Assuming you're talking about the Linx 8 and the iPega 9023, I would assume so. Here's a reply I made yesterday about the Linx 8 and Xbox One streaming (though it got ignored :p)
