0% Wow. Was it on this deal? Finance seems to be close to 10%.

The dealer pulled out of the deal as it turned out, but due to the £2k part exchange/finance contribution not being available on the particular used leaf I was getting. Quite annoying but I couldn't be bothered to carry on with the dealer as I had some other concerns about the vehicle anyway.... I can't stand car dealers, even the main dealers in this case acted like sharks and tried all the tricks....like free gap insurance, free alloy wheel cover and interior Scotchgard protection. If their idea of free is adding over a grand to the finance cost over 3 years....

Why pay high finance charges?Wait until Feb/March when there will be glut of the 24kw models and the new Leaf deliveries means few buyers for a new old model. When the new model has a 40kw battery and 8 year warranty, who wants 24kw and remainder of a 5 year warranty? A used 30kw model may be a good buy if you can stomach the ugly looks compared to the new model!

The day we stop using other products that use oil and we only use oul for …The day we stop using other products that use oil and we only use oul for making cars work then I will concede the oil issue but sadly that will be a long way off. Last comment from me aimed at musel21 for an earlier comment which they ignored multiple times:(It does does make me wonder if anyone actually sees how cobalt is mined before they start going on about the environmental qualities of EV. or do we just put the blinkers on like musel21 has been with it ok for power stations to pollute as long as it’s not in the city where they live comment earlier.

Cobalt mining is clearly an issue I agree, but so is the mica used in metallic paint. There's all sorts of issues around using the earth's minerals for anything
But you still seem to miss my point about pollution, obviously it isn't ok for any one to be polluted, but you can't compare a small possible increase in pollution from a gas power plant to that emitted by petrol and diesel cars around population centres. It affects less people and overall, due to efficiency gains, co2 and overall pollution is decreased.
A single ev may increase household electric use by around 20-30% probably about the equivalent of a fridge freezer and a tumble drier or other high consumption appliances. I don't see any campaign to stop people having those due to the increased pollution for people living near power stations...

Which branch was this at? Thanks
what is the insurance like. do you have to insure the car and the battery or is it just normal .
It seems each dealer is given a Leaf target by Nissan with a cash bonus... They're willing to discount (share bonus) to hit that target. But once they do, they can not sell / offer further discount... So even going to the same dealer may not yield the same offer... In fact, my dealer said don't refer any body as we won't sell anymore..

Similarly, where a 24kwh car is concerned, surely they're just clearing older stock as the 30kwh has been here for a long time and there are rumours that 40kwh are currently being built and will be released soon... In any case, Zoe 40 is here today, so the Leaf 24 is due some discount.....

something wrong with the car or driver. I've had a few cars and no car has had to have a clutch replaced until at least 100000 miles. had my Peugeot for 14 years and I had the clutch changed for the first time 2 years ago at 108000. if my audi lasts only 58k I will complain.. either they badly designed, too stressed on you need some right foot treatment lol
donslibi

Just checked and new BMW oil change is every 10k miles.

In that basis with main dealer costs you could expect around £500 in servicing costs each year covering 25k a year

You need to work on your maths and your understanding if the English … You need to work on your maths and your understanding if the English language. The lease of the Yeti is still about 3 times the cost of an iphone even when you deduct your 'asset' amortised over 24 months. Like I said £150 is not much of an asset. I didn't say it was zero asset.

I think you'll find your original statement was:

"3 times the cost of an iPhone contract for a whole car"

I said that wasn't the same because with the iPhone you'd still own it and regardless of what value it has, anything >0% is better than 0% (which is what you'd have at the end of a lease agreement - the point I was making in my previous post).

You then said that wasn't "strictly correct". Tell me please what was not "strictly correct" about what I'd said. You may not have said it wasn't "zero asset" but you are saying that my statement isn't right. So just so I can work on my understanding of the English language please can you explain what was incorrect about this post:

"But after two years with the phone you own it. With a lease the car goes back and you need alternative transport - you have no asset. Not saying leasing is bad, I've done it myself, just pointing out that this isn't the same as described."

Dear fellow HUKD members please note I posted this thread to highlight the Skoda Yeti offer not to discuss the iphone or its status as a possible asset.

Most Vauxhalls sold in the UK are designed, developed and engineered by Opel in Germany. Of course Opel is owned by GM. They are made in various countries.

Yes, a small amount is allowed but a dent can't be more than 20mm and only 3 are allowed per panel etc. It only takes someone to open their car door into yours to give it a 3 inch crease.

The insurance is a good idea and keeping up with the jones' for some people is what reg is on it not the badge.

I used to run reps cars for a company which is how I know the pitfalls of leasing. I know reps don't look after their cars as much as a normal person would but still these companies are looking to make money out of you wherever they can and it's easy money.

Hopefully it borrows some parts from the Corsa Nurburgring.

Looks are an individual thing, some like it, some don't. The name I don't see an issue with, it's named after the founder and on the continent it probably sounds better. The Ferrari Enzo seemed to do well. There's certainly other daft names for cars about that have become commonplace over the years, Golf and Escort?

The issue I have with the car is the engines currently available, none have little in the way of performance, however when the new turbos are introduced it should shake things up.

Anyone provide a leasing deal for a BMW (not that I class a BMW 1 series as a good car) . I have had the 1.4 se Ibiza and it was a decent car. I now have the 1.6 TDI and the performance is much better but the price was £20 more than this although it will long have expired.
oh wait - I know why I never saw BMW's e.t.c. - I was only looking at 5 doors.

Not many do SEAT because SEAT don't allow the finance through (fake) personal businesses. TSB do finance for them and value the car higher than SEAT so that is why maintainance is such a good deal with these.
Think Tilsun group often do decent deals, not that I am recommending anyone to use them.
