yes, just picked my up, still sealed too.

Yes, same for me, but the sale is not going through on Ebay, there are zero items available on the listing. Thanks for your help, though.

available in nearly every Argos near me.

Still showing as zero available to me on Ebay, although a lot of them available in stores. I tried a few times but I give up ;)

Worked for me just now. £134.99 and collecting tomorrow. Took 4 attempts though. Had a message saying seller has changed listing.

I might get get the Chiron from there. I really enjoyed the Porsche build when Argos had them for £130.

Amazon back to £199.99.

I went for the knock-off version from AliExpress and it's bloody brilliant. Not looked recently, but it was £65-70 at the time. Took many hours, tons of fun.

Showing as £199.99 for me on Amazon, but the Argos deal checked out at £149.99. Was a bit worried about it having an Argos sticker but when I went to collect from the store it was in the original LEGO shipping box, so in perfect condition. Heat from me!

Agreed I finished building this last week and was very impressed with it from start to finish, in fact I was gutted when I fitted the wheels and realised it was complete, I'm thinking of taking it apart and doing it again soon. :D I wouldn't have been disappointed if I'd paid £260 RRP at Lego in all honesty, let alone the £130 I paid at Argos the other month when it was on here! And for anyone that is actually building it, Google/YouTube the gearbox issues and swapping the direction of the red bits that help with the gear change. When i did the gearbox it wouldn't change with the paddles without getting jammed but you can reverse two parts that fix the issue so I had to take mine apart quite a bit to sort it out.

I opened mine last night, I have to say the packaging, presentation and manual feel really special. Only seeing this in the flesh can do it justice and is well worth the £133 I paid from Very. Sit tight and wait for a better price unless you really need it now. Despite my comments, thanks for taking time to post OP

Very. Com

Been around too long and too discounted for it to be ab investment.

Don't know if you recall the Argos post where some guy saw someone who had bought 90 odd sets when it was at £129 :o Just checked Argos using checknow site ... just about every Argos has it in stock with immediate or after 4pm pickup. They really have been over-producing these just to kill the investment market. Don't expect this to be an investment item, just buy for the pleasure of building/displaying it at the price you'd want to pay for it.

Hope everyone else is getting on fine with theirs? I got my W10 up to 1803 last night, just stuck on NF and changed the screen timeout to 1m but kept the PC on permanent and nursed it through. Bought some screen protectors last night as I intend to use the tablet portion quite heavily. For anyone wondering the Inateck MacBook sleeve on Amazon protect this. Also grab some Quad A batteries for the stylus.

I'll give my first impressions, I got one of these today, updating windows as we speak (top tip:- it's probably quicker to DL the latest pro on a USB stick and boot off that) I've never spent this much on a laptop before but due to my job income in contact with all the usual suspects, spectre, surface, cos etc is this better, can be sure yet, seen an XPS 13 today and they are so plasticy!. Looking forward to using the pencil and the tablet portion on the sofa. I've setup Windows hello and it's great, Need to buy a screen protector, I bought a MacBook sleeve to carry it around in, looks like they are no cases, this I think due to rarity and also the full rotating hinge which would foul any case. Oh well will just have to look at the chassis.

With all due respect Michael, you can't compare a laptop against a 2-in-1.

My partner spent £600 on a slightly lower spec but 8th generation i7 quad core touch screen laptop from Dell https://www.dell.com/en-uk/shop/2-in-1-laptops/new-inspiron-14-5000-2-in-1/spd/inspiron-14-5482-2-in-1-laptop Nice machine too. However its still a good post ,certainly better than anything Ive posted :-)

https://pd.infotip-rts.com/home.xhtml?Action=ChgSp&Lg=en I think this is it, I haven't registered yet, just got mines today. Another Edit:- yeah, this site works fine, you need to register and give the SN of the tablet portion and the SN of the keyboard partition to complete then they send you a PDF warranty document.

Thanks :) good deal!

The point is it's not "their" electronics in there either! The only LaCie thing they can claim is the design - the electronics are off the shelf parts (in fact the older stuff used PSUs from RS - even had the RS stock number on them!)

What would you recommend instead? I’m looking for a mains powered drive 2tb or 3tb. Don’t know where to start. Got a dying WD portable drive I need to fix quickly. Thanks.

Yep, I've posted before - I wouldn't touch Lacie kit with a bargepole, Porche designed or not. It's not just the drives inside either, it's their electronics in the enclosures, power supplies etc.

Excuse me sir, but my deal is for a silver one, not a blackish burnt colour (y) :p

Bought 3, 3 died hard and early. Read the other threads, disastrous quality control. Wouldn't touch with a barge pole.

I have an older one and of the 5 mechanical disks connected to my main PC it is the only one with smart errors; still working but I use it only for an extra backup because of the errors. I would recommend a different brand, even though it does look brilliant.

The LaCie Porsche design box has been around for about 10 years and actually looks quite good for a box. Unfortunately, it's not very good at its job as over heating is a major issue and results in hard drive failures.

What if it turns into Fal'Cie

So this is more like a Peugeot.

Likely to be a SHR (Shingled Head Recording) Seagate hard drive inside, doubt it is PMR. Larger 6TB was £119.99 last week, as an indication of price.

We support the 1TB versions and above for a customer in France. Very high failure rate on these.. Guess these ARE great for the industry though.. more failures mean more work or sales.. (y)

Avoid LaCie gear at all costs. They look great and often offer good features, but they’re let down by terrible PSUs. Cheap design means the capacitors dry out in them and they die long before the HDD. The PSUs are also sealed units, so pretty much impossible to repair 👎🏻

All I commented on was about Thunderbolt allowing daisy chaining, and you're suddenly interrogating me about Firewire?!?

My comment was a joke to comment before scroll up and read xD

Don't know what planet you're living on mate, but I'd love to know where you can get a 6tb SSD for 120 quid!

Or you just put a USB hub in your hard drive to allow "daisy chaining", since USB supports 127 devices per port (but effectively 77 as you need to use hubs).

Got it price matched with their store in Knightsbridge. Paid £1000 as he rounded it off. Call the store manager Mark on 020 7581 4442. He knows about this site. No I got it (lol) but the keyboard is horrible on the Envy. It’s as if all manufacturers are like ‘let’s make an amazing machine but we’ll make one thing really bad so it’s not perfect’. Then they make the business machines nearly perfect but about 5 years out of date in design. Can’t win.

Sorry was making a silly joke

Don’t be that fussed, the keyboard did my head in so I went back to my Elitebook 820 which has much better action and a full size enter key. The keyboard is very mushy on the Envy and I kept making mistakes. Dell XPS has a good keyboard.

I had to phone after placing the order, 1st representative said they couldn't apply the code as item already discounted, I had to argue the toss. I really enjoyed the caterham build, not a lot too it but it’s well done

If couldn't get this Porsche past the house manager...but she just approved the the purchase of the Caterham, based on it being retired. Lego are sold out and JL down to last 8 in stock. I'm still grisly about missing the F40 (no retailer availability + high eBay prices is the only time I would consider a Lepin). I've heard the Caterham wasn't a great seller so unlikely to go up in value, but just want it to go with my others...I will keep the box and manual in perfect condition though to maximise its second hand value.

Straight over your head then.

Probably right, I don't have one. I buy stuff to build/play. No interest in these kind of investments.

Exactly, how else would you sell it. Either convince her that is or lie about the price.
