Simple maths proves it is to be honest. Excluding the Lemon energy pack.
70g at 74p means 980g of whey powder (14 packs for £10.36). Not bad at all.

Yes I see that they are. I've not tried these new gels types before, but they seem to have good reviews on Wiggle.

Henvig

Do these have a use by date?

FWIW. I still used mine up to 6 months past their use by date.
Some people's stomachs are sensitive to gels but I wouldn't go to that extreme.
Remember you need to take take water with these in order for your body to process the gel (as written on the side of the gel).
I no longer use sis products but when I did they were fine.
I'd suggest that you first try these on a training ride or two rather than on a sportive or race.
Henvig

Do these have a use by date?

Yeah, the ones I received about 4 weeks ago have a use by of Mid 2014 I think.

Not used any yet, someone put me off by warning me to be near the toilet when using them the first couple of times...any truth in that? Anyone? I use the hydro tablets with no problems!

Obviously there are some exceptions such as lucozade sport, these are simply drink gels, you do not need to mix with water, just rip it open and drink it from the pouch, and it will give you energy for around 30 minutes

Not sure about this - what about Lucozade?
I think they are useful because they help balance electrolytes, and you can get a carb load without having to drink half a litre of water, which is clearly tricky if you want to run or cycle long distance without stopping to urinate regularly.

Thank you for sharing.

However with the article it even says....
"The real culprit, they proposed, was a little-studied chemical that is burped out by bacteria in the intestines after people eat red meat"

Nearly every type of food/drink is bad for us, we just have to be sensible and take he pro's with the con's.
Use your common sense people, what ever you do .... do it in moderation.

These and almost all sports drinks / supplements are not intended to be used by children. Kids keep away.
