Crucial CT120M500SSD1 120GB M500 SATA 6Gb/s 2.5 Inch SSD. This is an older-model drive, but it still should be "fast enough" for normal day-to-day use and it scores superbly on reviews. Plus it's hard…

Yes posted and got hot. It's not irrelevant if it shows in context with other SSD deals that a decent 120/128gb drive is coming regularly below £40 - they're a commodity item.
are they really regularly below £40???
search on here must not be working for me as I was looking last week and did not see any of the deals, and now I'm a bit annoyed at paying £60 (m550)!
Here are all the 120GB and 128GB SSD threads that have been posted in the last month (I used 'Advanced Search', limited the search to the last month of deals, and then searched for '120GB' with 'Search all Fields' and 'Deals as options, then repeated the exercise for '128GB')
First column is the "then" deal price, info in brackets at the end of each line is the current situation for that deal.

Which drive would you recommend for best price/performance (out of the ones that are available)? The Kingston is on ebuyer also for £40.98.
Got mine for £41 using flubit for amazon looking forward to use it now!
thanks for the effort of those that searched the deals.
I'm using the android app and couldn't see an advanced search (I'll look again).
so the m550 was below £40 once, which isn't regularly, so OK.
there have been other drives below £40, but that is not the same and difficult to compare unless you just want any SSD at the best price. some will, I won't.
:-)
any experts fancy adding some input to my question here? (asking in a dead thread not the best plan)

Someone people combine multiple deals into one thread, also the search functionality is not amazing (unless they've updated it).

I`ll do fresh install even if I might loose Steam downloaded games (I think there is way how to move them, need to google it), but I need to get rid of Win8 and get back to Win7. Can`t stand it anymore...
Other guys says when cloned u might have some trouble to run system repair in case u will need it. And there are other stories that follow this one...

Never had issue moving steam around. You don't even need to reinstall unless you want autostart, autologin enabled. Just running "steam.exe" from the main steam folder works. The ODD game might not play ball, just "verify integrity of cache" and it'll usually work.

Moved steam folder: raid->single drive->raid->SSD (got last weeks toshiba deal). Still working fine. The only thing you MIGHT need to do is to keep changing the drive letters in management console (right click "my computer" hit manage, click disk management. Right click on a drive, "change drive letter or paths"). In my case each time I moved it that drive became "E:"

This is the lowest price so far for 256GB mSATA SSD from Cruical. If you are in the market for one may be a good time to get it. Same price from official Crucial website £121.19 http://www.crucial…

You can get mSata to Sata adapters ..... (not sure why you would, but the option is there).

Most obvious would be if you were doing a small form factor build (e.g. Mini-ITX case), but the motherboard doesn't have msata slot.

Yeah, but my point was that a normal 2.5" SSD 240GB is about the same price - so why go the adapter route unless (as you say) space is extremely tight.
