Hot. Good find.
Although I just bought a code from ebay for 2016 professional for £22
Does it work?

It's an MSDN key, when Microsoft catches up with them they'll disable and deactivate the account rendering it as useless; some people get weeks, others get months or years of use - but don't trick yourself into thinking this is 'legit' and honestly, you may as well just torrent the software outright.

P.S. by them I mean the seller, not the buyers.

Thanks. Looks like it's OOS already though :(
Its a very good price I would have bought it but only just found mine on ebay 2 days ago.
Certainly better than buying office 365 & having to pay to renew it every year
That depends on your needs though doesn't it, Office 365 also comes with 1TB of online storage.

Off ebay from a private seller who accepted my best offer. They now have run out but there are others for circa 30 still on there. Just look at the sellers feedback to make sure they are genuine.

Have just checked eBay - seems too good to be true.

Anyone order and get cashback?
chechone
I contacted Quidco CS last week and they confirmed me the cashback would be declined for Student & Academic staff. I think it is worth it to try it though...

Edit: I've contacted Quidco, and they said that as long as you don't have to enter a code and it doesn't take you to a different page, then the cashback should be fine...looking at reviews on Quidco, I can't see anyone complaining that they haven't received cashback on a student purchase, so I'm curious where this has been reported as being the case?

When I contacted Quidco CS they said if you don't need to enter a code the cashback should track.

What's the reason that the cashback won't pay out? There is nothing in t & c's to say it would exclude student store purchases? I'm curious, are people speaking from personal experience?

If you really want the 365 subscription model and don't forget you also get 1TB of online storage each then go with the 5 user edition and sell a logon to family/friends, it works out about £15 a year each including the 1TB of online storage each.

Online storage is now being increased to 10 TB per user, and will shortly become entirely unlimited per user.

yes but at the moment its still 1TB as I stated, the rollout to unlimited has not started yet but you can get your account on the list to be first here https://preview.onedrive.com/?wt.mc_id=oo_blog_onedrive_insertblogtitlehere

£69.99 for office 365 home premium retail version (5users) on softwareforstudents.co.uk. Find it under the tabs by sorting to by software type and selecting office

You don't have to be a student with them you just need to know one which is a strange but useful way of bypassing the eligibility rules.

They accepted me adding my 4 year old grand daughter at preschool !!

Or get it £10 cheaper and avoid having to "bypass eligibility rules".
Does this apply to Open University Students?
I posted this about 3 weeks ago when it was first announced. It is for the Web based version of office so you need to access it via Internet so is not installed on your local machine. You also get 20gb free space on sky drive which is yours to keep forever. You do have to be with a college/uni that is signed up to their programme otherwise you will not get it. Not all colleges are by the looks of things. Good if you ban get it though. My college also offers a download of office 13 for £6 through viglen if you prefer that. Licence is only for 2 pc's though.

That's just a one year subscription and is a "normal" product and not a special student license .... and in any case, is cheaper elsewhere (e.g. Ebuyer ... ok only by just over £1)

The HUP program isn't actually meant to benefit you -- it's meant to benefit Microsoft.

The logic is they want your company to upgrade to Office 2013 (plus Server 2012, Sharepoint 2013, Exchange 2013, etc).

Because of the changes in Office 2010/13 from previous versions, employees will have a short-term productivity drop (and be very grumpy) about the change (mainly to do with the ribbon).

Getting them to use Office 2013 at home means:
1. They believe (correctly) they are getting a great deal
2. They believe their employer is wonderful (doubtful) for getting them this deal
3. They might even believe (incorrectly) Microsoft cares about them
4. They will likely buy a new Windows computer with Windows 8, and even be motivated to adjust to it with a positive attitude.
5. The employer saves on training costs and has less employee dissatisfaction.

So, everyone wins -- but mainly Microsoft.
M1sterDeeds

Thanks for this. This would be ideal really. I have text my brother as it is him that would require the software (and the build is for him). I am sure his work will use Office so I've asked him to ask his IT department.

What is it called officially? I have just done a quick search under MS work / partnership and not come up with much.

As Kenleeee said above its the HUP program, you can see it at http://www.microsofthup.com

I bought the entire office package 2013 for under £10 which was an immediate download, you then have the option of paying a few more quid (think it was another £6 or £8 ) for the actual CD with it all on as well.

For the record, I think open office is great to, although with MS office at this price I don't use it any more.

Edited By: whytrigg on Jun 14, 2013 21:21
Microsoft home usage program (HUP)
Really really good deal if your
company is set up.
Most of the time he would be using it to do work related tasks so I'm hoping they can help him out.
whytrigg
I got the entire office 2013 package for under £10 through the microsoft / work partnership thing.

I think if your work pays for microsoft licences they can get you a deal like that, worth checking out. Little bit of admin for them, but once its setup all employees get that price.

Wow that's really good. If your company has this you would be crazy not to take advantage of it

Spam. A cynical repost with numerous attempts to direct traffic to the OP YouTube channel. Why hasn't this rubbish been removed yet?
obviously more than a thousand people found it an useful post. You are free to disagree.
As to it being a repost. The same has been covered and explained before in this thread and the OP has been gracious enough to accept my reasons and i dont see why i need to explain again. Obviously the people who run this website found the deal useful too hence they included it in the daily deals email.
As to the links in the comments to the deal, i have posted 13 links to others videos or apps and two links to my play lists. These were included as people were asking which office app was better and the best way in my opinion is to see the differences for yourself in a comparison video. As to self promotion allegation i find it ludicrous because 13 of the links were not to my playlists or vodeos and two were to my playlists wrt the app videos in question.
I have gained over the years from the deals on this website and am happy others have gained from my post as evidenced by the heat this deal gained. One cant please everyone so i cant be bothered arguing with you over this. I hope you have better things to do too.
Cheers.

Kingsoft Office Freeware is fully compatibility while OpenOffice cannot support doc, xls, and ppt formats at the moment. :(

But Libre office certainly does. :)

poppycock.

not only does open support those, but it was open's coding MS based docx on, open is also compatible with the x suffixed formats & includes a pdf converter.

and the paragraph indents comply with the dos requirement for formatting the conversion laughing halfshafts. And the font fail safes are at half the quotient of the treble paragraph saving formula. (no idea what that means at all but thought i would try and bamboozle you guys) IT IS FREE thats all i need to know!

lol, it is a cracking deal, my retort was simply at the poor description of open. I'm happy with open, so have no reason to try another. There are a few issues when viewing one on the other, but then no non MS product will ever bee 100% compatible with MS product, MS can't even achieve that so what chance have anyone else!
Thanks!

How did you do that? I looked and they request a programme code?

If your company is part of a scheme like mine you get a copy at a huge discount, for me its £8.95. HOWEVER, if you leave the company for any reason them your licence supposedly expires (this assumes that this process actually works/exists as alot of these things MS state in T&Cs arent usually enforced anyway)

These copies are legally only for people who are, or share the software with 'students' where as Home + Student license can be bought for generic Home use, whether a student uses it or not.

But still cold, as this version is often available for around the £60 mark.

I’ve tried several programs that claim to convert PDFs back to word, but none of them have been very good. They tend to scramble the text, get the formatting wrong, lose parts of the PDF or simply fail to accept some PDFs. Does anyone know of a program that doesn’t suffer from these problems? It doesn’t have to be free, it doesn’t have to be flashy it just needs to work!

LibreOffice example:

I’ve tried several programs that claim to convert PDFs back to word, but none of them have been very good. They tend to scramble the text, get the formatting wrong, lose parts of the PDF or simply fail to accept some PDFs. Does anyone know of a program that doesn’t suffer from these problems? It doesn’t have to be free, it doesn’t have to be flashy it just needs to work!

This was a pretty good series but I still don't understand the reason for the series finale with the whole Jenny incident. Probably the worst ending in TV which is a shame it was a pretty ground-breaking show. But don't they have a spin off called the real l word or something which is supposedly a lesbionic version of jersey shore. Yes I do realise I have made up a word.

Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus (student) now with extra £10 off - £40.90 from Software4Students

Just noticed there's an extra £10 off the student pricing for this (normally~£50 from S4S). Might be good for those who missed the RM deal. Apparently this is a saving of £390.04 on the regular R…

just bought this for £40.90, thx.
oh, and for my ha'penny worth - I love free programmes and think OO is good, however, office is far easier to use, and for something my wife uses everyday at home, plus as we both use Office 2007 at work it is a no brainer.
Deal still ongoing just ordered! Thank you so much!
The only problem with the home user program is if your employer drops out, as the NHS does you must delete the software. So this deal at £40.90 is hot!!!! as you can keep the software for life.
Wow... this offer has been live for a while now - looks like it'll stay live until October. Some updates then:

1) In response to the comments I've added the "transaction fee" - it's a bit naughty of S4S as this isn't really advertised until you get through to the checkout.

2) I can confirm however S4S are very good; I bought this when it was £10 more expensive and was pleased with both the product and the service from S4S. I also received both 32 and 64 bit versions.

3) Free alternatives: Yup, there are plenty of them out there, and for many people they’re fine. In some cases, they’re better than MS Office – indeed, MS Office is overkill if you’re just writing the occasional letter. My own view is that the MS offering is the most competent, sophisticated and intuitive product available, and at this price it’s a really good option. At this time I really wouldn’t want to take on writing a lengthy document/thesis with googledocs – though I’m sure in time it’ll be a more viable option.

4) One note particularly relevant for those using the EndNote bibliographic software – this doesn’t work with versions prior to X4. Either buy X4, or stick with Office 2007 (or earlier)

Good deal, but office 08 is a joke! iWork is tonnes better IMO.
Mac refresh is around October, WWDC is usually software (snow leapord) and hopefully the new iphone 4g
Seems like a good geal to me with Office and free delivery, however I think its not a good idea to buy a Mac at this time until after the WWDC in June.
I would change your post and delete the Unibody parts as the title refers to the white Macbook.

Cheers.

COLD - Because its been this price for a while, and its strictily for students only.

This should not have been posted, as a lot of people who are not students will likely order it.

Post reported to moderator. Sorry.

its not just for students- The Big Steal is only for students -but anyone with kids at school can buy from Software for students .
cant understand why you feel the need to complain about this?!
spraint;4481779
How fascinating!

You must let us know when Openoffice.org can handle VB macros properly or acquires a decent database program or can handle more than 65k rows in Calc just for starters. All dealbreakers for me.

Just as good? My foot.

I agree, Openoffice is for MS haters, loafers, leechers and and possibly those who only want to write a letter, they didn't realise they could do that in Works already installed on their machines.

For the rest of us only MS Office will do, and for those who qualify its a steal, voted HOT.

Check out some of the other software they have, I got Expression Web 2 for under £30!!!!!!
ordered, bargain :)

Deal is gone, any idea where anyone?
I got this a year or so back and it's good value, lets you install on a desktop an laptop.

Does anyone know if the key for a Windows install would also work on a mac install though? Just got a macbook and want to put something on there. Will probably end up with open office but it would be nice to keep things common here.

Do students actually buy this?

I've always had the impression that most students get software off torrent sites.

Yup, most of us do
