Brilliant! I found the poster model in Homebase and they still had it on full price. I tried them to price match but they refused. :) I might just wait and buy for next summer when they go on sale again.

I don't know really Tuncsi. I called the store and asked if they still had any and they said that they had 1 left so I asked if they would put it aside. They then went and checked that they actually had this in the store and they came back and confirmed that they did. As I live in Leeds which is approx. 140 miles round trip to Blackpool I said that it would be on the weekend before I could get there they said that this would be fine but I feared that they'd sell it before I got there. Anyway, Sunday came around and I called to confirm that it was still there and sure enough it was! I got there and it had a sticker with my name on it and "last one" written on also. The product reference wasn't 0077924033032 as in the original post but was this one: 0077924033025, which is the current one retailing at B&Q for £267. Obviously I was delighted that I'd managed to get hold of this product at this price. - See attached

There’s a fair few left in Poole at £149. Picked one up today.

How did you get it for the discounted price than? Is it because they made a mistake on the phone when you reserved?

I managed to reserve one of these from the Blackpool store. When I went to collect I was pleasantly surprised that it was the current model which they were retailing at £269 which I got for £149 (£118 discount)

And from "Gentle_Giant". Big Clive, is that you? ;)

You werent my boss at the time were you?? He was convinced this huge, heavy model went ON TOP of the glass case; so you could see the lifts running up and down. We managed to talk him out of trying it. My job was stripping out and replacing all the electrics that ran the lifts and lights; I expect it will have another rebuild to replace all those tiny filament bulbs with leds before long. Despite it being decades ago, and my having been to Blackpool several times, high winds have always meant the tower was closed while I was there, so I have never seen it in place and working.

Blackpool? Never heard of the place.

Norfolk 'n' chance

If I did that I'll accidentally drop it, I'll be part of history than for sure like that women who messed up a Jesus painting when trying to restore it

Blackpool Pleasure Beach has sunk to low levels over the years. I remember when it was free to go, you paid for tickets for the rides. Certainly wouldn't pay just to get in now.

Worked for me cheers (y)

Picked this up from Wigan Grand Arcade store around Christmas/New Year time, I really enjoyed it and well worth £1, although my wife wasn't so fussed and we like a lot of the same movies, I was born in the 70's and grew up playing games from the ZX81 onwards so whether that made a difference? (nerd)

All stores at some point will receive Blu-ray's it all dependant of the displacement at HQ

Not hot or cold. FYI 4 of us stayed 3 nights at the Travelodge at Lytham St Annes last August for a whopping £66 in total. No parking but lots of free on street parking. Tons of decent restaurants on the main street and surrounding area and the beach/prom. And free wifi from the M&S Food Store below us!

Wasn't a sweeping statement.. but was about those slating it without having been there.. by all means it's open to fair criticism such as yours. But faux snobbery about sleeping in someone's shed makes me laugh.

I don't like camping. I don't like Spain. I guess I only like my house.^^

A shed costs a few hundred quid, a decent camping pod costs a few thousand. There is a bit of a difference in construction quality. Camping in a tent is just paying to sleep in a field covered by a canvas sheet but it hasn't stopped hundreds of thousands of people from enjoying it. Some people will get it, others will be happier with a week in Spain and a free bar (I like both equally).

Hi. Any deals for 2 adults and one 3yr old? Thanks

I goto Blackpool twice a year, May for my birthday and September for the illuminations. Love it there. Millions is being spent on Blackpool. New Winter Gardens, new Hilton Hotel, 2 million pound rollercoaster, new tram line, plus much more.

Been a few times and plan to go a few more .Funny Girls was excellent the last time we went . Cant see where all the negativity towards Blackpool comes from its no worse than any seaside town and a lot better then most . You just have to accept it for what it is , if you dont like it dont go no need for all the negativity .

Lived there for 10 years... grim isn’t the word. I dread having to go back up there to visit family.

The market wants what the market wants!

Well in all the time I've been there I don't think I've queued more than half an hour, and that was for the biggest rides. As for food, you can leave the park, have your food and go back in. Or like I do, leave the park, have a walk on the beach front and get some chips then go back! I honestly think Blackpool is one of the better theme parks as queuing times are less and you can leave the park and there's actually places to go nearby

All very good points and well made, including the "Blackpool does let itself down in some ways" comment. We also live sort of just down the road (an hours drive away) and it is indeed great to take our grandkids there for days out a couple of times a year.

I agree, but it's not all bad as there is..... -An expensive theme park with the most rides per square foot in the UK. -3 large piers, all with arcades and fairground rides. 1 has a bungee, an inverted bungee and a huge swing thing. Another has a massive ferris wheel. Another holds the annual firework world championships. -A large tower with plenty to see and do, this also houses one of the most prestigious ballrooms in the UK. -An indoor water park, the largest in the UK. -Winter Gardens complex, a large grade 1 listed building full of character that has been host to lots of big names along the years and held political party annual conferences. -A famous opera house, the royal variety performance has been her on many occasions. - Stanley Park, Lancashire CCC still come and play some games at the cricket pitch. -Waterloo pub, this has a famous crown green bowling stadium and holds many televised tournaments. -A zoo. By no means the best, but there is one. -A world famous annual light show that stretches for miles. -many other attractions inc. Coral Island, Tussauds, Ripleys believe it or not. - a famous tramline -the golden mile -A blue flag beach and a regenerated promenade. I could go on, and yes Blackpool does let itself down in some ways but I consider myself lucky for having it down the road.

Totally agree with you. It was bloody brilliant :)

Shockingly Blackpool zoo is fantastic, it really is the only real reason to visit!! My mom lives there....Blackpool, not the zoo! If you have a young family and are going to Blackpool for a “holiday” or “trip” then definitely nip to the zoo.

Cheetahs beware.

Beware of speed cameras, the area is jam packed with them.

This is a national deal and they even have posters of the deal in the shop windows. Great value too. If I did not already have some AKG Y50's which are pretty terrific I would go for these without a seconds thought.

Loads in stock yesterday (Fri) in Bristol Galleries branch.

Saw these in HMV Brimingham Bullring on Tuesday. They had quite a few in stock.

Sennheiser urbanite are the only sennheisers i have been disappointed with. For £50 they might prove favourably over the competition but I can't say for certain.

I'm taking 18month and 2.5yr old next week. Can let you know gozneyeje. Still worth £5 as that big garden room is impressive, or it was when it opened. The old illuminations are always at the very north end. To be honest it was Naff 30 odd year ago, and still is. (popcorn) can't wait to be dodging all the mobility scooters / drunks / smelly folks.

Does anyone know if you pay for under 2's to get in?

Has to be better the the illuminations on -ter front promenade , partner went a week ago , blooming rubbish to the days gone bye.

Went last year. Really good. There is a litgarden area which is really impressive!

Correct, but if you look at other threads this seems to be a clearance event at multiple Tesco stores, so worth checking your local one if you are in anyway 8)

If it says 'reduced price' on the receipt then it's a store specific yellow sticker and chances are, stock is now all gone.

Are these reduced stickers stuck on products or shelf labels "reduced to clear"

Nice to see someone still enjoying the bargain hunting, things have come along a bit from buying DVDs from across the pond and banking those dollar cash back cheques!
