Anyone ever took a dog in one of these , i know it says no pets , but ive taken a dog in hotels before no probs even though they say no dogs , not sure how this one works as its apartment as long as they dont check on me every 5 mins do u think it will be ok?

boozie

It does yes :) Tempted myself but already going to a few places in the spring.

boozie

Well it hardly matters but the link says this... "What's Included in this Travelzoo Offer" and this "Please call Travelsmith Holidays on 01621 784666 quoting ZOO/240" So let's just say it's a Travelsmith offer in conjuction with TZoo.

kaits

Hi Boozie I think i've found a direct link to those apartments ]http://www.watergatebay.com/beachcombers.php . It looks really nice :)

Not such a good deal as it's out of season. Also don't forget you will need to take a car, Watergate bay is quite remote and a fair distance from Fowey (my neck of the woods). It is very lovely though!

Cheers for that review - I go in two weeks time. What sort of cost did you pay for the meals in the restaurant?

Anyone been on one of these breaks yet? Me & Mrs Yaffle just got back from a 2 night stay and we have to say we were very pleased with what we got for the money. It was a bit of a drive there and I insisted on doing all the driving as it was my treat (4 1/2 hrs either way!) but it was worth it. The hotel & staff were very nice, beautiful grounds, lots of facilities as mentioned previously and we had a seaview from room 7 overlooking the bay & harbour in St Ives all for £99. The breakfast was the usual help yourself, but there was a good choice and we ate in the hotel both nights and the food was very nice too. Food & drink prices were reasonable too, with free wi-fi if you were missing HUKD's  (no I didn't!). St Ives itself is a lovely little place with beautiful golden sand on the fairly small beaches it has (2 or 3?), and was within easy walking distance of the hotel (although it was uphill coming back so not so good for old or very young). I expected St Ives itself to be a bit bigger than it was but a 2 night break at this time of year was about right. I'm sure in the height of summer with everything open and the warmth of the sun making it more inviting to stay on the beach a week would be easy to fill with things to see & do. All-in-all a big thumbs up for the hotel & St Ives :thumbsup: Thanks to the OP for posting! p.s. its a good place to get married if anyone was thinking about it, there was a wedding there on Saturday and it seemed to go off ok, with a free firework display for us on the night

Come on down :) Lovely weather here in Newquay today, just setting up a BBQ for lunch !!

melcarroll

while you lot are looking at ryan air look at the free flights to belfast ?? whats the catch there prob £50 for glass of water on plane £10 toilet charge[/quote] I flew Stansted to newquay return for £6.06 total for three people last month when they had another free offer. The £6 was a debit card fee and the 6p was 1p each way that came up. If you only take hand luggage you can check in online for free and get free priority boarding, otherwise it is £9 per bag and £6 check in fee plus extra for priority boarding. It would have been a great bargain except for the fact that they closed newquay airport due to fog so we had to land at Bristol and get bussed to Newquay. ( I still felt a lot better about it than those on the plane that had paid full price)

asandwhen

I think this is cheap - works out at £37.50 per night.

wanderer

agree £75 quite steep when you got to pay £110 for 2 days hotel £185 total nearly price of a last minute deal for weeks holiday while you lot are looking at ryan air look at the free flights to belfast ?? whats the catch there prob £50 for glass of water on plane £10 toilet charge

asandwhen

It would cost you £75 in petrol to drive to and from newquay in the car!
