October half term for me, I'll be in Gozo

My sister has a scuba diving business in Gozo, call in and say hi
Whilst obviously not as warm as the Canaries, Malta itself is so much more interesting, with fantastic history and sights. However, although I don't know this hotel and it's specific hotel, my brief time in Bugibba waiting for a bus connection made me glad I wasn't staying there - seemed the most "Costa Del" type of place on the island.

To be honest for any of you that are looking for specific dates you are going to be limited as there are only going to be a number of flights on your dates. If I was you looking for 21/22 July (extremely popular dates), I'd be looking now at exactly what flights they have from whichever airports you can fly from as you are going to be limited. I check almost daily for flight prices in August and it's just keeping an eye out for when flight prices drop. That's going to be your difficulty. I don't look for specific dates or requirements, but I do post any school holiday deals I think are good value.

I'd been looking for this case for the little ones Xmas PC - cheapest I've been able to find it, thought it may be of use to someone. Few in stock but it states more on the way.
My case needs an upgrade, this may be the one looks very nice
Thanks for both replys. I don't actually need it to do a great deal, I would need programs like Microsoft Word to edit invoices, chrome browser to manage content on my plex server and I would quote like to Tey editing videos. I was initially thinking 4k but upon reading it seems you need some decent hardware for that. So I may just record in 1080p so they're easier to edit.

But that's about it really. Won't be gaming on it or anything like that.

Don't have any equipment to test if parts are faulty so buying pre built might be easier.
In the market for a fish tank, this will do nicely. Thanks OP.

How easy would it be for someone like me who knows very little about pc's … How easy would it be for someone like me who knows very little about pc's to buy this case and build one. Would it work out lots cheaper or am I better off buying a built one. Looking for a i7 and 8 or 16gb ram

It's very easy to build a PC for a novice, but if a part is faulty then you might have quite a problem finding out which part is faulty, usually this is between PSU, RAM, Motherboard, GPU and CPU, if you have one of those parts faulty then you'd need another one to swap it with to test. So if all your parts are good then as long as you don't mash up the pins on the motherboard or CPU depending whether it's AMD (pins on CPU) or Intel (pins on motherboard) then you should be good to go. I first built a PC in 1996 and to be honest even though I work selling PC's I rarely build them now as it's very boring for me, some people love doing it and setting them up, I've done so many I couldn't care less.

Summary:

In theory and practice it's usually easy to build a PC, if you screw it up then you could end up a few hundred quid or more out of pocket, which is why pc-specialist, overclockers, novatech and other sites exist to build one for you at a cost. If anyone wants to build a PC these days I would say go for it, just remember fault diagnosis could be your downfall.

Lastly NEVER buy PC parts just before Christmas, unless you've researched and know they're a decent price, you'll notice that DDR4 RAM has greatly risen in price now if you check, and always new tech comes out straight after Christmas, for example on January 5th 2017 KabyLake CPUs will be released and the new chipset motherboards, H270, Z270 etc. Also AMD Zen is due to be released but later in 2017, which may or may not give Intel something to think about. There's always hype with AMD releases and so far the hype has been 100% wrong for every AMD release for years. Zen could be different, the hype is that AMD will have an 8 core CPU for around £300 than can compete with Intel's £1000 hex core, hype is as hype does though, so we'll see.

It's very easy to build a PC, there are, quite literally hundreds of guides and forums online that you can utilise. I would definitely recommend reading a lot before getting started so not to make obvious mistakes. Also deciding exactly what you want the PC should be your first point of call as you can then tailor the build to suit.

I was in Malta in May of this year, it was remarkably cheap eating out ( 6 € for 15" pizza / 1 € a pint) and Jaws (the wife, she never shuts up) was impressed as to how clean and friendly every one was. I'm a 30something Englishman living in Malta and feel I should clarify a few things:

There isn't an immigrant problem. Yes there are immigrants (like most of Western Europe) and like all of us they're trying to improve their lives by working hard.

Crime is very low

Cockroaches are quite common (umm, it's hot and humid here!)

I've seen about 3 beggars in as many years

I went to Malta back in July for the 1st time in 24 yrs and it was beautiful.
We managed to get to see a few locations. The buses are fantastic especially as they had air conditioning in the 104f heat! One evening we missed the bus and the bus driver stopped for us on a hill!!
On another occasion the bus driver who was finishing his shift, told us to jump on an took us to another bus stop, where there were more buses running in that area..... FOR FREE!!!

The people are so helpful, polite and proud of their country. I DON'T sound Maltese as I'm London born n bred even though my family are and live in Malta.

We asked for directions to get to Valletta and we asked a lady who suggested to get the ferry then the lift up to the Barrakka Gardens she said "it's beautiful way to get across the island!"

We highly recommend the Captain Morgan Jet Extreme speed boat to the Blue Lagoon at Malta's sister island. What an AWESOME way to travel across the island.
The speed boat is the naughty boy of the Captain Morgan fleet! Fantastic! X)

There's so many different places to eat right across the island to cater all tastes.
I has lots to offer for every type of traveller from the young to go and party the night away to travellers
who want to just get away and have a relaxing peaceful holiday.

Malta is an island with so much history. I've not been there for 24 years and from what has changed the areas that cater for the tourists but it still has the Maltese houses that makes the island for what it is, and island of history! Those that complain that it's boring as hell, it's beaches are not good then I suggest they do their research bon the island before booking their holiday!

I get much better service on Ryanair than most premium airlines. Most people who batter them on here go on media hearsay and have probably never flown with them, never mind recently. It also makes me laugh the people who pay priority and add another 20% on the ticket price in some cases. We all get in the same plane, we all have allocated seat numbers, the plane will not leave without us. Best way is to just chill in the lounge or by the gate, join the boarding queue near the end, get on, seated and have less time in your seat. Good deal, thanks.

There is the other way you just walk upto the priority queue i have heard heated arguments and seen the occasional punch thrown as people get in the wrong queue especially seems to happen when returning from abroad. You then board the plane first with the knowledge your bag is above your head so easy to get to when disembarking and just stretch out and relax whilst others struggle to get their hand luggage anywhere near them.
Being near the front another benefit when disembarking as i normally travel on short breaks with ryanair time is at a premium so i only take hand luggage no waiting on the dreaded carousel or find its gone missing.
Normally i am through customs whilst others are still trying to retrieve their luggage.
All this for between £10 or euros depending on what seat you choose.
So normally paying no more than £30 return for the flight its horses for courses.
In the bad old days i was coming back from berlin and the german ryanair agent must have been on a big bonus as he tested them in their gauge test and in the end had 20 pieces of hand luggage all lined up put in the hold whilst the poor passengers were very distressed and had to pay the extra costs and hassle to retrieve them.
The main thing with ryanair is play by their rules check the size of your hand luggage and you wont get your fingers burnt. You may get away with it now and again but is it worth it.
By the way ryanair have a flashsale of 20% off all routes ending at midnight check their terms and conditions.

Here: … Here: http://www.britishairways.com/travel/flight-calculator/public/en_gbI would note that if you are doing it on impulse to get the TPs, I definitely wouldn't consider Bronze tier worth it. The benefits are rarely upheld (bar the online seat booking benefits), and it is often only Silver and Gold that get to use the check in queues and priority boarding.

Basically I have a flight booked in Feb for four of us in Business.. We want to sit together (2 and 2 on either side)... Yeah, but Malta aint too far from one

you could say that about Spain /Italy /France. I can assure u that the maltese take airport security very seriously. I know for a fact that the Raf fly.out to luqa weekly so pilots get their flying hours under their belt!
would love to do this but my concentration is terrible! every time I put Birmingham airport in then work every thing out I start to feel that I have done something wrong!!! ( blooming bipolar)
can't sort out transfers either and taxes??!
if you could help, I would be so happy!

At last a holiday not to a terror related country.

As others have said- beautiful country and lots of nice places to go. Would have to say though, have been February and it can definitely be damp and even stormy. The days can be bright and relatively warm, but the nights do get chilly.

Only they took off the double car (bendy) busses and now just use the smaller ones. So even out of season they are all rammed. No way of getting on them unless you are at the start of the route.

How is the revamp of the Valletta entrance looking? I haven't managed to get there since last summer.

I do feel for them, they had a great upgrade of the transport system partnered with Aviva, only for Aviva to duck out (heard a few reasons, not enough money in it, dodgey road surfaces made maintenance costs sky high) which has left them with a shortfall of services. I'm sure they'll sort it soon enough.

The bus network is great but they had recently changed the buses which meant there were not enough to deal with the amount of people waiting. At best you were crammed on the buses; but usually the bus would not stop and drive past you because it was full. Ruined it for us. I'd want to know that situation had been sorted out before returning.

Until midnight tonight, you can book these flights with BA for just a pound more, and have inclusive drinks, a snack and hold luggage. Part of their LGW flash sale.

I know as I live here. Malta is quite often promoted as a winter sun holiday and its not at all. Its cold, damp and dreary at times even though the temperature is decent enough.

It's better than here I can tell you that but then you live there so must aware of that. We are off next Tuesday to Mellieha. Never sure I would like Malta but went last year and we all really liked it.

saw one today in Doncaster for 35 but for a tenner bargain!
Bargain if you can get one. Fold away after use . All parasole types dont like strong winds . Even centre pole ones , might stay put but the struts bend or break!
I've got the Mallorca one but its still in the box. Purchased it for £65 and thought that was a good deal. I'm hoping to fix mine to the decking to stop it from falling over.

There was a Mallorca that scanned at 15 pounds... This from 100 this summer. Its big though...

I saw one in B&Q Gibralter but they did say they were getting more in as the monkeys keep stealing them.
