Arghhh great not going from London Luton... (annoyed) always better offers from other airport
went for a long weekend to sardinia cagliari earlier in the year, had a really nice time
Seems good deal though not tried it. Malta is lovely
You're right...I can't find any at that price either!
They said in their ad from Gatwick is £44 but couldn't find that. Southend is too far away.
Unfortunately only London flights. Though I won't vote, as I can't compare against a local flight to Malta.
I thought great. I'm planning to visit a friend in Malta but Ryanair, EasyJet and BA are cheaper for the dates I'm looking at. Sorry voting cold.
If you're after sun, Malta is great for a quick break during the summer. Anything more head somewhere else I i'd say. After my trip last month I cannot recommend it. Full of oldies and too many all inclusive hotels.
Should be able to get a week for that sort of price in Malta, though not necessarily during school holidays. Not many sandy beaches, mostly rock beaches. Mellieha up north has a great sandy beach. Cheap buses (a bus pass is good value if you use it enough) means no need for a hire car as the traffic wardens are very keen! Watch the bus drivers don't do you out of your change! My parents are Maltese and I've been lots of times. Interesting history. Great crusty bread, & beer - world prize winners for both.
Brief : Bank holiday piss up Beach , no walking to it Not full of ends of a bell Cheap for a bank holiday I see it as brief fulfilled
Nice place Malta, though I really wasn't too impressed with the food. Some of their pasties are quite nice. The public transport makes it a really great place to explore and Gozo is well worth a visit. I would definitely go back and some of their beaches really are lovely.
Just 3 nights...not sure if that's good value. I know it's school holidays, still..
Wow cheaper than a all day travel card return from Brighton to London £59.20
I agree with many of you above, "London" southend is a bit of a push but as some people have pointed out its fairly easy to get to. Those like me who think it should not be called a London Airport will no doubt also agree that Oxford should not be called " London Oxford Airport " Makes southend look close now ;)
Southend is a great airport "London" is a bit of a stretch but the same could be said for all airports outside the M25 imo As it stands with a direct train connection (very easy to walk to right outside the airport) to London I think it holds up ok to anyone looking to fly in/out of the city. Obviously if you live in Reading or something pick to fly from somewhere else
And let's not forget the biggest p1££ taker of all "London Oxford Airport"! Two counties away from London (lol) http://www.oxfordairport.co.uk/
I always thought it was within the boundaries of London. But just googled and seems you are right and it isn't! Seems the only airport "actually in London" is City Airport :o (lol) https://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/news/heathrow-and-gatwick-not-actually-in-london/
In Malta at the moment, and like it.., though would not want the 40+C in summer.. not had any rain daytime over the past week. Bus timetable is for decoration only for some routes. in general they are pretty frequent, especially around the main town.. and a bus pass makes transport v cheap too
I've driven in Malta no problems great compared to driving on the A12!
Was in Sliema a few weeks back, loved it The hop on/off bus is a joke, dont do it just use the local transport the buses are very modern ie the X2 to the airport from Sliema
buses outside of london are no better
It ain’t too bad 20 degrees :)
So would I because it's lost two of its engines (highfive)
Thanks ; (highfive)
Lol don’t think Air Malta even have any A380’s !! Lol!!! yes London Southend = :/ (poo) though you can fly Air Malta from LHR... which is more than you can say for BA , Where you have to trudge to Crapwick for the one a day early morning uselsss service!!
Yeah they'll be telling me Luton is near the capital next! Wait...what!!!!!
Any decent hotels?
Got any jobs going? :D Was over in Gozo late October, loved it.
:D maybe, you don't know what it is yet.... I'm a network engineer. If I go there for work, it means spending 8hrs in an air conditioned server room !! But yes, I have been there a whopping 37 times so it's like my second home now.
I wish I had your job
Will be about 15 degrees C for anyone wondering. I work in Valletta so happy to answer any questions. I'd jump at this since I don't have to be there for another 3 months. Except I don't really fancy flying back on boxing day. But heat added tho. Love Malta :D
The buses are a bit of a joke.
I have stayed at this hotel. Cheap but not too cheerful. Changed room several times as no single one had all amenities working. Food was OK for a short stay.
Window in curdle door Dorset coas
My sister has a scuba diving business in Gozo, call in and say hi
Whilst obviously not as warm as the Canaries, Malta itself is so much more interesting, with fantastic history and sights. However, although I don't know this hotel and it's specific hotel, my brief time in Bugibba waiting for a bus connection made me glad I wasn't staying there - seemed the most "Costa Del" type of place on the island.
When did you last visit Malta? The current buses are only a few years old?
Ok thanks. Xx xx
Old and green and make a lot of smoke.
Will he in the tent if we go. That should guarantee it rains
The way out !! (_;)
you are a star! anything from Belfast or Dublin in August that looks good?
To be honest for any of you that are looking for specific dates you are going to be limited as there are only going to be a number of flights on your dates. If I was you looking for 21/22 July (extremely popular dates), I'd be looking now at exactly what flights they have from whichever airports you can fly from as you are going to be limited. I check almost daily for flight prices in August and it's just keeping an eye out for when flight prices drop. That's going to be your difficulty. I don't look for specific dates or requirements, but I do post any school holiday deals I think are good value.
Look for all inclusive hols in July either flying out 21 or 22nd July for 7nights.
Hi, I'm also looking for all inclusive deals from 14th August (7 or 14 days)... for 2 adults & 3 kids - 13, 9 & 3yrs old. Thanks.
No. Busses have changed. Was arriva. Dunno who now. Any idea what cost is for kids/toddlers?
Are they still the same old buses ? I last visited Malta nearly 20 years ago quite enjoyed my bus trip, loved seeing all the old Ford Anglia's, triumph herald's etc. Oh yeah back to subject looks like a good deal to me to escape this cold weather.
The buses are a bit of a joke.
Deal is no valid now!
Beautiful Hotel - Been there twice.
Weather is a comfortable 20C at this time of year.
Weather is poor at the moment here. Wet and windy. Hotel is North of Island away from the livelier areas. Mellieha is very quiet at this time.
Sounds like just what I need :-)
Decent hotel in a nice location, away from the costa del type areas. Stayed there in April this year. Lovely restaurant around the corner (can't recall name) - didn't eat at the hotel, though.
Totally agree...seldom is there any decent offers from NI
i would love a holiday right now and this would be an excellent price, these are seldom from Belfast though
very short notice and the quieter end of the island but cheap. Dont expect a lot of heat when you get there but the people mostly speak English and there are buses to Valetta if you want more nightlife and dont fancy driving.
237 for 2 people I gather you are working out for one person. I have check and its actually more expensive for one person, by £40. Coming in at £286. WTF!!!
We have recosted your holiday. You may have to reselect some of your options. Please also make sure you have selected the correct room(s). Now £237 by the look of it
Thanks, had a browse and lots of deals available from around £70-100pp in nice looking hotels. The cheapest flights were from Stanstead but not much more to change to Gatwick. HOT even though I can't go!
Only as tour buses now. Had modern buses since 2011. Probably for the best with the heat in summer!
offer expired, but I found similar one from london at the same term: https://www.expedia.co.uk/packagesearch?subm=1&cmbt=2&dcty=LON&dnam=Malta%20(all)&Direct=0&ddpt1=15/01/2017&drtn1=19/01/2017&crom=1&infs=0&drid1=6049429&tair1=MLA&cadu1=2&ckdr1=0&qryt=8&rdct=1&paandi=true#hotelName=&regionFilter=6049429&hotelStarRating=0&reorderFiltersTreatment=-1&action=filterPackageSearch&rfrr=PKG.SR.Sort.Price&sortOrder=10&startIndex=0&poiId=&subm=1&cmbt=2&dcty=LON&dnam=Malta%20(all)&Direct=0&ddpt1=15/01/2017&drtn1=19/01/2017&crom=1&infs=0&drid1=6049429&tair1=MLA&cadu1=2&ckdr1=0&qryt=8&rdct=1&paandi=true&destinationId=6049429&ttla=MLA&originId=6139104&ftla=LON&ajaxRequestType=hotelsort
just edited :D
I was in Malta in May of this year, it was remarkably cheap eating out ( 6 € for 15" pizza / 1 € a pint) and Jaws (the wife, she never shuts up) was impressed as to how clean and friendly every one was. That was true of all the island as we used the buses constantly all over the island and saw or heard nothing to disturb us and can say truthfully a pleasant stay.
What's wrong with Malta?
i saw a program a month or so ago and it was saying the streets/beach areas are full of immigrants maybe thats something to look into before you book.
Guess we would feel right at home then

Be careful with this company. Bought flights with them before. They contacted me later to tell me original flights not available and I was being charged more. Had a premium rate helpline too. I cancelled and will never use them again.
Cool. I wondered what the kids were talking about last week but couldnt see anything on BBC or the FA website!! Cheers
Yes itv tomorrow 5 pm against slovakia
Might be a new manager by tomorrow ;) I might have missed something. Who are they playing & is it on TV?
I meant the game tomorrow sorry
Its a month away?? We might have a new manager by then! Anyway. Tickets booked now to decide train or car!
Actually it is more like the middle east can't get along with each other and having different religions and sub-religions. Funny how most other colonies have faired well enough
I'm a 30something Englishman living in Malta and feel I should clarify a few things: There isn't an immigrant problem. Yes there are immigrants (like most of Western Europe) and like all of us they're trying to improve their lives by working hard. Crime is very low Cockroaches are quite common (umm, it's hot and humid here!) I've seen about 3 beggars in as many years
I went to Malta back in July for the 1st time in 24 yrs and it was beautiful. We managed to get to see a few locations. The buses are fantastic especially as they had air conditioning in the 104f heat! One evening we missed the bus and the bus driver stopped for us on a hill!! On another occasion the bus driver who was finishing his shift, told us to jump on an took us to another bus stop, where there were more buses running in that area..... FOR FREE!!! The people are so helpful, polite and proud of their country. I DON'T sound Maltese as I'm London born n bred even though my family are and live in Malta. We asked for directions to get to Valletta and we asked a lady who suggested to get the ferry then the lift up to the Barrakka Gardens she said "it's beautiful way to get across the island!" We highly recommend the Captain Morgan Jet Extreme speed boat to the Blue Lagoon at Malta's sister island. What an AWESOME way to travel across the island. The speed boat is the naughty boy of the Captain Morgan fleet! Fantastic! X) There's so many different places to eat right across the island to cater all tastes. I has lots to offer for every type of traveller from the young to go and party the night away to travellers who want to just get away and have a relaxing peaceful holiday. Malta is an island with so much history. I've not been there for 24 years and from what has changed the areas that cater for the tourists but it still has the Maltese houses that makes the island for what it is, and island of history! Those that complain that it's boring as hell, it's beaches are not good then I suggest they do their research bon the island before booking their holiday! ;)
Says the geezer showing off his chav car.
Yeah it goes over your emotionally immature facile little head. Xenophobe because I don't agree with your mass immigation view. Lol, despite preaching about refugees, shows your true colours by telling someone you don't know to get a job.* And try googling and reading about history so you get the true facts rather than relying on what you watch on TV. * I work shifts.
Best just take some with you to be sure
where am I going to get my deep fried Mars bars in august then
How odd! I've no idea I just followed the link here and it came out at that price (the price in the screen shot as well). I've no idea why you are showing a higher price??
How do you get the hotel at that price, it comes up as £434 for me same dates, same complex. Where does the "secret 10 % discount" shown above come from?
There is no code it just comes up at that price.
