Air China? I'd rather hitchhike!

OMG omega flights no way, once bitten twice shy, bought tickets from them, they changed dates without notice and because couldn't fly on those dates asked them to change flights or refund, they took almost a week before I had to get refund and that took them over a month. Hope you guys have good experience

You what? They have sooo much negativity attached to them, it's incredible people still buy through them.

Not the best website to book your flights...Reviews are not very good for this website. Better to book through another website that does price match and then get that flight price matched with this

Looking for a distraction from the chilly British winter? Why not plan your 2017 getaway to Australia? And for one day only, our latest Flash SALE will help you jet off to the land Down Under, to explore the cosmopolitan hub of Melbourne. This incredible deal ends at 6pm tonight and, with just 30 seats available, you'll need to be quick – pick up the phone now to book this exclusive offer. Today you can book an Economy Class flight from London Heathrow to Melbourne with Royal Brunei Airlines for just £449pp. That’s an amazing saving of £277pp! With such fantastic savings on offer, you'll have change leftover to hire a car along the Great Ocean Road, enjoy a meal on the Southbank or catch a show at Arts Centre Melbourne – to name a few. But don’t hang around; this deal ends at 6pm tonight, Tuesday, 8th November, 2016. Travel dates: 20 Feb – 30 Mar; 24 Apr – 30 Jun 2017

No further info. I pushed and couldn't get any more at the time. From my research Royal Brunei do 2 stops. Dubai and Brunei. Each leg is around 7 hours. No alcohol on the flights if that is of interest.

I rung them earlier before I posted this deal and they wouldn't give me details of the airline or dates. They said, I quote "we don't know until a few minutes before the deal goes live". Did they give you any more details? May be worth checking again tomorrow to see if it's accurate.

I rang them and they said it was with Royal Brunei. They said there was a discount on adult tickets only not children's.

Love love love Melbourne .. Well Richmond !!

There's and "expire" button under the deal/first post but if the offer is still available I wouldn't expire it. It's a seriously good deal (but personally I'd do the break in Bali on the way back). I nearly booked it myself hence I mentioned it, but with two Oz trips already booked I decided to just to book a return to Bali for £410 instead and save £180... Garuda is a 5-star airline, their safety record may not be that great (mainly due to domestic maintenance and weather) but the international/long-haul flights are generally to a similar standard as other "bigger" brands - makes you wonder what Emirates safety record will be next year?!.

The Thai Airways one to NZ is ridiculously cheap. How do I expire this one? The Etihad one is going live soon I think.

So you haven't really booked it yet, just testing to see if it got hot or not.. Why not ask for advice? My guess is you'll be extremely lucky if Etihad have flights to Australia in their summer for £450..Air China may release some for £560ish but anything under £500 (for Jan-Mar, East of Perth) is a bargain.. I've two trips to Oz booked for 2016 (one with Qatar and Emirates/Qantas the other Garuda and Jetstar) and just took advantage of the Thai Airways offer to New Zealand for February..

might hold off on this one. My dad called today and said there'll be an offer for around £450 return pp direct with Etihad for flights in mid-late Jan so I'll post that here when it comes on.

Absolutely everything in oz. 50% more money than uk.

You mean food and drink?

Brilliant deal. I did this on a year out in 2005, amazing memories. But it took me 5 weeks to drive from Sydney to Cairns. And I lived in Sydney for 3 months and Cairns the same. This duration is not going to touch the surface of seeing Australia. But if you really want to go and there is no other option then this deal is a bargain. But Oz is incredibly expensive at the moment.

booked it.. thanks op!

Great effort by the OP but this is far too much land to cover in 2 weeks. Better to stick to a smaller area as otherwise it won't feel like a holiday and will be too rushed. A relocation deal is good for getting a cheap camper van and going from one place to another but that's it, it's no good for a holiday (as you need to get the van from one place to another in a set period of time). Great for backpackers to get from place to place cheap, but not great as a holiday as you don't really get time to spend 'holidaying' as your main aim is to get the van to its destination.

Not as cheap as the £340ish flights to Adelaide with Qatar I posted a few days ago (not sure if expired). Personally I wouldn't say this is particularly cheap for Oz given the time of year if the time frame is correct and it is only for flights 14. Apr. 2016 - 13. Jun. 2016??

To those concerned about legroom in economy, it's worthwhile checking out sites like to check legroom stats. I flew LHR to SYD earlier this year with Etihad, who were alright. I'm a lanky 6'4" and was lucky to get bulkhead seats on 3 of the 4 flights- I'd have been pretty uncomfortable otherwise.

Yes I got caught out with this last year when I unexpectedly went to Oz when staying in NZ. Virgin Australia charged me $50 to do a visa at the airport (free if you do it yourself) and watch out for channel 7 doing the Border Control programme.

We've flown economy as a family four times - the first was with an 18 month and 4 year old, I wouldn't recommend that. But the other flights were fine - as soon as the kids were old enough to be engrossed by the TV screens we just let them vegetate for 24 hours. We've flown Singapore, Emirates, BA and Etihad and honestly there's not much to choose between them IMO. Most recent was Etihad (last month), the entertainment system on the A380 was superb by economy class standards (and not much worse on the other legs). It's slightly better to break the flight in Dubai / Abu Dhabi than Singapore because it makes for two more equal halves of the journey, changing at Singapore on the way back and realising you've still got 3/4 of the flight time to go was a bit depressing. Don't forget to get an e-Visa (free, apply online) before you leave, the airline doesn't usually remind you.

I'm packing a multiple carriers/airports is out. China Southern don't charge extra for carrying bikes - so I guess £375 with no excess charges is worth the money. Flight duration isn't too bad either. I just wish the international airfare pricing matched the European system - where one way flights are the same price as the outbound flights on a return airfare.

I think, London - Perth June 27 - May 6 is half term.

Have a lovely time :D

Thank you OP ! Booked trip from Dublin made some modifications to the itinerary

I left that on purpose but well done for not attacking me, even so it took you sometime to realize about where and were. In my life I experienced that it is not all about languages but obviously it must be all about you being a homosapians and I might possibly be a sapiens instead but surely the sense of humour is not a friend of yours at all.

That much is obvious. By this sentence. You left yourself open to attack by posting a comment trolling the thread. Not sure what you mean here, language is the main reason why homosapians are the dominant species on this planet. Until very recently it was key to survival. Also, it's "where" not "were".

For a genuine misspelling which I did not bother to correct in a moment of a hurry!! Left unattented to attract the attention of someone like you that cares, wondering how perfect you are on doing other things more creative in order to survive and were language is not that important. English is not even my mother language but in reality I can understand you. Even the good one, mother language specialists, are actually very pathetic the way they speak and write, schools and certificates do not help at all sometime. If a foreigner cannot understand them, it should be treated as a sad case as English is one of the most beautiful and easiest languages grammatically. What can I say; unfortunately it happens in all languages, lol. All written by my hand here without the help of a spell checker etc.. and sorry for my possibly wrong funny structural way to express myself and for some possible misspellings.

Thanks Rachel just booked this exact trip today, going in September - flights were £100 more expensive than the dates you had but still cheap!

Ouch, glad you survived it. No wonder you made that sensible comment not to drive at night!

Well there had been 83 comments before yours and nobody had mentioned it until you had. Drongo.

Avoid Air China at all cost, low price but: 1) Extremely rude staff. Typical Chinese you see in any restaurant. 2) Horrible food/ the worst of any airlines 3) Consistent Delay on way-out and way-in, delayed over 32hrs, compensation £50. Wow!!! 4) Small seat, no legroom even for a small guy! It is always the cheapest in any route to Asia (Thailand, Philippines, Lao, Vietnam, Hongkong, Malaysia.....). They are cheap for a reason. I went through hell with them, and so did our friends, and we learnt big lesson. You better pay £150 extra to fly with Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines...but it is well worth it. Trust me. You ll regret it in the end, pinching yourself "Why did i not spend £150 extra!!!"
