Bike chains / Accessories further reductions instore at Wilko - Portsmouth

bonzobanana

Managed to get 3 of the 9 speed chains for £1.75 each. Under their own Taya brand packaging normally their 9 speed chains are significantly more expensive than their 5-7 speed chains so probably a very good deal. Unless Wilko are stopping sell Chains now these will probably come back into stock in a 2 or 3 months or so with new packaging or a slightly different spec anyway. Used a Wilko chain in the past and great quality and I'm a heavy rider. Taya are probably equal to KMC in quality but their quick connector is a more single use design.

bonzobanana

Cheers, If I'm in a wilkinsons I'll see if I can get some of their 9 speed chains. I think I cleared out my local store of single speed and 5-8 speed chains plus the grips but I seem to remember they had some 9 speed chains still at £3.50. Seems strange really discounting now. They ought to have a banner saying 'Get your bike ready for Spring and Summer' and feature these items. They were already good value at the normal prices. They'll probably start restocking these in May for the summer season.

Interesting learnt something new

Nth

Well I never. I've head of wifi micro SD cards but had no idea you could get wifi enabled external USB sticks. You live and learn,

Picard123

That doesn't any meaningful information at all. How is it powered? How long does the battery last? Any buffering streaming 1080p/60/30+Mbps? Voted COLD because no useful information has been provided.

beergut

"You connect this USB drive to your router wirelessly?" >> No, you use it on the move when you are out of the house and your router is still at home. Lol "Would it not be simpler just to plug it in directly to your device?" >> How do you plug external storage into an iPhone? Would it not be simpler to provide a universal connectivity solution - like wifi - rather than multiple different hardware connectors on the compact, mobile, battery-powered, wi-fi storage extension? "Shame the OP didn't provide any sort of explanation as to what it does." >> shame you don't know how to google or check Amazon. Took me 30 seconds BG

£19.25 at Travelzoo? Is that the same ticket? Thinking of visiting the dockyard but want to make sure I get the most out of a couple of days there.

andy8771

Its great, I think Portsmouth is a dump, the Dockyard is a real Jewel though, climbing walls/Marine Climbing walls for the kids, that alone keeps mine occupied. The Submarine at Gosport,Mary Rose, Victory,Boat building Warehouse the attractions are endless, my kids have the years ticket for the second year running...£44 for unlimited visits !!! Anyone who moans about that would moan about anything!

Thx @mattmathanga and @kerridge0, seems like a great deal. Went via TCB and travelzoo.

Very suprised to be honest at how cold this is. For those of us who visit (and from their annual visitor numbers there are a lot!) this is a very good discount on a family ticket to the dockyard alone, when you then factor in all the other attractions you get to go to it's a no brainer...hey ho! I'm sorry it's such a local attraction only, but hopefully it'll help out some.

Couldn't disagree more. If it wasn't then it would have the same following other sports have. It is the kind of thing people do to raise money, like running marathons in a Sponge Bob outfit. X) Seriously though, A small minority at that. I've got a fear of heights the thought of doing this.....(shudder)

seb

the saddest thing is that some people will be excluded from going down the tower merely because they're the wrong size! http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4951493/Im-Mr-XXXXXL.html justice for the mr XXXXXL1!!

Nerak80

I don't think it is a minority thing personally. Thanks OP. Many people live within range and many who abseil would travel. Its a great opportunity to do something a bit different. Heat!

The roaming was one of the main reasons i bought mine. I understand now though that they are limiting it to 50Mb a Month but I haven't confirmed that yet. Should still be sufficient to check email daily. At least we're not looking for a WiFi spot just in case an email requires attention.

winchman

The worldwide internet id really the selling point of these as newer kindles with 3Gthe do not have this access. I was very pleased to have got the kindle touch for £49 from the same store a month ago, but now a bit miffed the nook is now the 20 quid cheaper....

tatarak

Hot from me. Nook may be cheaper but this comes with free worldwide internet. I saved more than 99 quid on roaming charges in one year. Shame it's probably a local deal.

twistedanimator

Me too and I wouldn't swap mine for anything else.

aerotec

Great price. Remember the 3G access allows free web access in many countries around the world. I take mine on holiday so I can Wikipedia search about buildings and history of places I am visiting. You can also access your webmail service and read the BBC news pages etc all for free. Not fast and it is a grey scale screen but it is a great feature when abroad as it saves having to pay for roaming data access or hunt down a Wifi zone.
