Depends if you want the Tina minifigure (the Story Pack only contains Newt). You don't need her to play the extra levels in the Story Pack, which also unlocks the Fantastic Beasts adventure world.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

What's the delivery cost on this please?

States free on the item page if you look.
I need a cheap Marceline Adventure Time...I don't like to pay more than £8.50 a fun pack.

Got this for 2 quid last year in a similar post.
check smyths for figures first as quid each and 3 for 2. not a lot of choice but it helps. i just need judy hopps if anyone has one to sell
fingermouse27
My daughter (aged 6) and I have a blast playing this. And the Star wars games are pretty good too i must admit. worth noting Toys r us currently have a decent selection of figures in stock for delivery too making it easy to get to the £20 threshold for free delivery.

Couldn't agree more, me and my 5 year old daughter have loads of fun playing this. Haven't missed much due to the serves being off as far as I can tell. Even managed to track down a tinker bell figure for her (which didn't cost a fortune) I'm still looking for a few to complete my collection though.

Edit - One tip, if you're a fan of spider man the black figure works with the spider man play set landmark, the spiderman landmark and the nova figure can be purchased from cex for a few quid.

Damm this site, thats another 8 figures purchased, Groot for £2.49 is a bargain

Yep this game is still amazing, especially if you're new to it and can make the most of the cheap prices! My girls spend hours building their own worlds. Best playsets are Dory & Inside Out. Personally I never really made use of any of the online stuff, so the servers shutting down have had no effect for me.

I'm going to wait and see what the DLC offers, but we don't know how substantial (or unsubstantial!) the DLC is to call it grossly overpriced. Pretty similar to Bloodborne and other DLC (although dlc and download prices have got silly this gen).

You've got to have a pretty good incentive to preorder an unknown digital product - it's not going to go out of stock, and you've got little to no recourse to refunds.

Only time I've done that was MK8 and we knew how many tracks we were getting.

same price @ cdkeys.com and can also get 5% off

The cdkeys can be a better deal for the switch, but they do Not sell the wii u version of the pass.
Jasamo
Hmm good price, will probably get this anyway, not sure if I should wait... Is the initial treasure chests and clothing worth it?
No. The game revolves a lot around you changing your clothes to suit the enviroment or current activity so you will wear the tshirt for a couple of hours then stick it in your bag and forget about it.

The next 2 updates should be great but this one is meh.

if your store has a pre owned copy it will scan at £5. just picked one up
£12 trade in at CEX, £10 at GAME.

If someone buys it and decides they don't like it, they won't lose out too much.

I just traded my copy in a few days ago. I had a lot of fun, but I've been a fan of the Warriors series for quite a while, so I'm biased.

I would have jumped at the Wii U version for this price but too slow :( Hopefully the game will still get a 3DS release as Amazon still have it for pre-order.

Don't hold your breath. Only reason they haven't cancelled it is so they won't have to give refunds.

If you don't care about psychical media, I believe this can be had for £3.99 on the Easter sale on PSN
This company are scammers. They promised a Vita and 3DS version and still haven't delivered and doesn't look like they will even announce that they are cancelled so they don't need to offer refunds for Vita and 3DS kickstarters.

Mine has arrived.
Looks new!
Sorted!
Mines just been shipped, Did you get all accessories/boxed??
All accessories. All boxed.
Pretty much mint tbh.
Might have just got lucky obviously, but if this was listed on Amazon it would have been at least "Very Good".
All accessories..as in?.
As in... all accessories.
I just mean it's complete really.
Wii U GamePad.
GamePad stylus.
GamePad Cradle.
GamePad Stand.
Console Stand
AC Adapter.
Sensor Bar.
All the jive.
Oh..
In that case, i am missing the gamepad cradle. Ah well.
You're not missing much tbh!
Hunk of plastic with charging passthrough.
Can pick them up for pennies on fleabay.
Well..what i've gone and done is, i bought a third party dock on ebay for £7.99. The dock also comes with spare wii remote rechargeable battery packs and it has 2 empty slots for the wii remotes to charge as well as the main gamepad. I really REALLY prefer charging docks over just sticking the cable in directly. All my goods end up with scratches around the charging port where i've missed the hole a few times oO

Hi m8 whats the dock like ?( been delivered yet?) you got a link?
Recieved mine yesterday after collecting from the Manchester store - It turns out to be the Zelda limited Edition version of the Wii U (without the game, unfortunately). Packed in Game branded box, but complete with all wires and expected items. I'd say its in really good condition for £99 - no scratches on the game pad and not many sign of wear-and-tear on the console itself. Bargain for me!

Edited By: RossL79 on Apr 22, 2017 15:36
Noticed these are back down from £149.99 to £129.99 now. Just rang Game about my dodgy power cable, told me can either return the whole thing or try my local store on the off chance they have a spare one. Reasonably happy with the console overall so a bit annoying.
Mine arrived today too. No charging cradle. No stylus. Pretty bad condition. Z grade. Lots of scratches and scuffs on console. Quite few on gamepad. Trouble with these consoles is the glossy finish. I think most of the scratches and scuffs are probably from handling by staff and stores rather than users. I could live with both of these things. But there is a noticeable deep scratch on the screen about 1cm near the bottom. But now that I've noticed it, I can't stop seeing it! If it didn't show when the thing was on, wouldn't bother me. And as always, there was a complimentary pubic hair trapped between the screen and the housing that I need to tweeze out. Don't know if I should keep just to play the very small handful of games I'm interested in.

Edited By: ra786 on Apr 21, 2017 04:25
Mine arrived today, via My Hermes, not DPD as the email.

No official box, but was packed in a Game branded box, with a lot of plastic wrapping.

So I got the console, gamepad, power cable, HDMI cable, sensor bar and the gameplay charging cable.

Was expecting the gamepad stand but can pick up on eBay I guess. Was also expecting a Wii Remote. It it wasn't advertised with so not annoyed!

General condition is good, I'm happy to have it just stay on my shelf whilst being used, gamepad was in good nic too.

I did have Mario Kart preinstalled so that was a bonus :)

Don't know what Gamestop are like over your side of the water, but I know if I go in to pick this up over here they'll try to sell me a 2nd hand copy for €40 before they'll let me buy it new for €10. Assuming I can find a single game anywhere in the miasma of merch. This is it though, this is how it begins! Wahey!
You should see the prices of games over here! Crazy (and not in a good way)!
Some shops still sell NEW psp games at full retail.
Like going back in time.
Seriously, though. It's got to be better than Wakefield, hasn't it? I've heard the Asda there have stopped selling LEGO. The weird dude with the camera doesn't visit anymore and it just seems like wasted shelf space. According to the Wakefield Express, of course :D
Ahhh the Wakefield Express, so bad even the chippys won't use it.
It's fantastic over here, different way of life. Soon as the lingo goes in my head it'll be smooth sailing (the missus is French btw, so I'm not struggling too much :-) )

Hi

I have recieved the game but slight damage to box as it was posted in jiffy bag and got slight crushed.

I have tried to redeem the code via eshop but says code invalid. Is code region locked or something? I have double checked and I had typed in correct three times but no luck. Anyone confirm if they have success in redeeming the code? Thanks
The Pal version is about £30 more so your essentially paying £30 for the fact this doesn't have a pegi rating on the front of the box. The Euro box is also in multiple languages this is all in English.

unless you're a hardcore "UK green triangle" collector (they really do exist btw), why would you care?
I am one of those said people. Don't want this thing tainting my otherwise perfect green pasture. I do not come from a land down under.

Haha, fair play, I'm just about owning the game. I also have the habit of unsealing them!

Alot of people voting cold probably don't realise how much these Nintendo Collectors Edition sets go for, Australian or otherwise.

I definitely agree. The thing is, it'll be posted from the UK, so there's no danger of import fees or anything, and unless you're a hardcore "UK green triangle" collector (they really do exist btw), why would you care?

You're judging others by inferring they are children for their taste in entertainment. You are the epitome of someone who is judgemental.

My post did not infer anything of the sort. Read it again instead of making assumptions. I wrote as a follow up to Summer and Krooner's posts that GTA and Sleeping Dogs are great and aimed at adults. I have also posted that Lego City is a good game that I've played (I'm not calling myself a child).

You are actually the only proven assumptuous and judgemental one here who indicated to me as being closed minded and immature.

I clicked & collected this game in Reading and it was actually the 'Clearance' version meaning brand new disc in some coverless case like a rental version. I had to get a refund as this was not what I was expecting, others may be getting the real thing but the ones in Reading are Clearance versions so be aware

They used to say Nintendo games hold their price well, not anymore. Just sold a load of mine off for peanuts :(
The game itself isn't great but good price for new.

Wii U games might see a massive drop off in price due to the Wii U being hacked.

Same here, got approx £12 a title. That said had I got rid of them 12 months ago I'd have easily cleared £20 a go for the Mario based titles.

Played the first level of this one when it came out (seemed almost a carbon copy of Lylat Wars' first level), need to come back to it and see how it plays.

Nintendo hold price far better than other consoles. Still plenty of games doing good money especially still sealed. Quite often Nintendo games go down in value at the end of their life cycle but go back up again over time

No I'm saying that at all. I'm just saying that I think it has been at this price for a while, I've just looked at the copy of it I bought from Grainger games two years ago and it has an £8 sticker on it. I think it's likely stayed at that price since then, I was just making a remark that's all.

back in stock at smyths for £10 home delivery... be quick!!
Thanks for the heads-up on this, I was heading in my nearest city today so I popped into Cex and bought the only copy they had.

Of course finding time to actually play it is the problem, so many fantastic games out lately I'm already playing, especially open world ones! I'm currently loving Horizon Zero Dawn :)
If you liked the scale of the new Zelda just wait till you're roaming around this vast alien world in an invincible flying mech suit! Such an epic sci-fi adventure with hundreds of hours of gameplay. One of Wii U's finest.

Heard a lot of good things about this but never tried it, sequel due for the Switch I believe?
So what's this like? Especially curious about combat, is it turn based? Anything it can be compared to?

Kind of but not really. There was a game on the Wii called Xenoblade Chronices. The Switch game is a sequel to that. This one is by the same developer and shares a lot in common gameplay wise but is set in completely different world with different characters.

The combat isn't turn based but it isn't really actiony either. It is very similar to the combat in an MMO. You can move around freely, you automatically do a basic attack when in range and you pick from various skills that are on cooldown timers.

Where?
On Amazon, check buying options on the Guardian Amiibo, for example. He's marked it at £14 to make it seem "the cheapest" and then whacked an £8 shipping cost on. When you read his description, he's selling NFC stickers - not the figure. I've already reported him to Amazon, because he's doing it for multiple Amiibo and it's a) "illegal" and b) misleading!

For a Nintendo title, I'm surprised that this game has dropped so low in price so quickly. I (personally) would never have conceived of the game reaching sub-£15 levels. That's not to say that it's a great game (even though some levels are) but at this price, one really cannot complain.

HEAT for the price - but I'd buy "new" personally.
Very similar price new at smyths toys this week.
So it's cheaper at Grainger Games with FREE delivery (thank you kipi) or for a mere £3 extra you can have a brand spanking copy from Argos (thank you ranja81) what gives?

It would seem that to win over the brain dead amongst us all you need do is inject a little humour into your title!

Wii U: A New Generation Console

Building on the popularity of the Nintendo Wii, the Wii U was unveiled by the Japanese gaming giant in 2012 and was the very first gaming system to offer 1080p HD visuals. Development of the console started in 2008, when Nintendo decided to launch a system with appeal for hardcore gamers. This represented a move away from the standard Wii, which was popular with families and inexperienced players. The Wii U was the result: a console based around an advanced touchscreen unit and extremely high-definition visuals. Its graphics power is complemented by 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, delivering a gaming experience that competes with that produced by Microsoft's Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

A Wii U Console

The Wii U's Technical Specifications

  • The Wii U is 1.8 inches high, 6.75 inches long, 10.6 inches deep and weighs 3.3 pounds.
  • The CPU is equipped with a 1.24 GHz IBM power-based multi-core microprocessor, while the graphics are generated by a 550 MHz AMD Radeon HD GPU unit. The GPU supports 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i resolution video.Wii U GamePad
  • Premium packs come with 32 GB of internal flash storage capacity, and the basic Wii U pack includes 8 GB. Users can also attach external USB devices to provide extra capacity.
  • Features 2 GB of DDR3 memory.
  • Uses optical discs. It is also able to directly access the internet using a wireless connection. Four 2.0 USB connectors also provide the Wii U with a wireless LAN capability to link different devices together.
  • Wireless connectivity is supplied by a Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n Bluetooth 4.0 card.
  • Includes a 1.3 megapixel camera on the touchpad.
  • Designed to work with two Wii U gamepads, four Wii remote controllers and a variety of different controller accessories.

An Introduction to the Wii U

The Wii U is a gaming system which takes the form of a console unit and GamePad. It has a sleek, streamlined design which has been engineered to be as small and unobtrusive as possible. It will fit seamlessly into a living room setup, and can easily be stashed away on shelves beneath a TV, or placed on its own stand (if you buy the premium package). With its advanced GamePad, the Wii U can be used with a normal TV, or on its own when the TV is in use, making home entertainment more flexible than ever.

The Wii U comes in a range of different packages:

  1. The Basic (white) package includes just the console and the GamePad, as well as the touchpad stylus, AC adapter and 8 GB of flash memory.
  2. The Premium (black) package comes with the basic console along with the GamePad and extras like the GamePad cradle, touchpad stylus, HDMI cable and AC adapter. It comes with 32 GB of flash capacity.

    Super Mario Nunchuk

Nintendo also offers packages that are themed around well-known games, such as Super Mario Maker, Mario Kart, Zelda and Splatoon, which may be a better option if you have a particular title in mind.

Controlling the Wii U

The GamePad controls themselves are standard – with the familiar A, B, X and Y buttons, shoulder buttons, start, select and a couple of analogue direction controllers. It can be powered via the charger for genuinely remote play, or kept connected to the power supply.

  • Touchpad: Where the Wii U departs from traditional consoles is the touchpad. This element provides a new dimension for some forms of game. For example, football games can include real-time tactical changes while you play. You can scroll through weapons or spells in RPGs, or select missiles and alter your aircraft in flight sims.
  • Touchscreen: When you are playing on your Wii U, most of the actual gaming takes place on a separate television screen although for some games the touchscreen allows Wii U owners to play their games remotely when the TV is in use. The controller can also be used as an advanced remote for the television itself.
  • Motion Detection: The controller also includes advanced motion sensing capabilities. As with older Wii models, the Wii U can detect how players move, translating this into on-screen gameplay. The difference is that the Wii U has made their motion sensors far more accurate, making games more enjoyable and less frustrating.
  • Wii Remote: Almost all games available for the Wii U are designed to work with the primary controller. However, other peripherals are available, such as the Wii Remote in conjunction with the Nunchuk. This slender controller is often used with multi-player RPGs like Nintendo Land, and is handy for playing older Wii games as well.

Accessories That Can be Used With the Wii USuper Mario charakter

Since its launch in 2012, the Wii U has received some game-changing accessories that can enhance many aspects of the console. For example, seeing that the standard controller was a little clunky for action titles, Nintendo introduced a GameCube-style pad to make things simpler. A four-way adapter was also introduced to link these GameCube controllers together, enhancing the Wii U's multiplayer abilities.

The balance board has become a fixture in living rooms across the country, allowing people to exercise from the comfort of their own home and to create more immersive in-game experiences. The Wii Wheel allows racing fans to enjoy a more authentic experience, while the Wii Zapper adds excitement to shooters.

Nintendo has also introduced cosmetic elements so that Wii U owners can personalise their systems. These include Wii Remotes branded with Super Mario characters as well as decorative skins for the standard controller, and hard covers to keep the GamePad safe.

Other accessories include special controllers for individual games like Super Smash Brothers, along with traditional-style . All of these can be purchased with graphics featuring popular Nintendo characters, like Mario and Luigi, Link and Yoshi.

Seven Things You Must Know About the Wii U

What is The Games Selection Like for the Wii U?

The Wii U has accumulated a wide variety of different games, from racers like Mario Kart to RPGs such as Nintendo World, and you can find them all at HotUKDeals merchants like Game.com, Smyths, Amazon or Asda.

In general, the Wii U's games selection includes titles targeted at younger gamers, or multiplayer games designed for families or groups of friends. This contrasts with the range of games on the Playstation 4 or XBox One, which are usually more action-oriented and have a higher rate of adult content. However, it's worth remembering there are some adult titles for the Wii U, such as Deus Ex.

Some of the well-known titles are:

  • One of the most popular Wii U titles has been Super Mario 3D World, where players can take control of all of the franchise's major characters in HD 3D graphics.
  • If you like fighting games, the Wii U has received a great update of the Super Smash Brothers series, with its unique style of humour and hectic multiplayer action.
  • For RPG lovers, Wind Waker is the latest Zelda instalment, and provides hours of solid gameplay.
  • Splatoon is another flagship Wii U title, featuring child-friendly paint-splashing action and some frantic competitive play.
  • Pikmin blends the real time empire building of games like Command and Conquer with quirky graphics and puzzle elements, creating something truly unique.

Reasons to Purchase a Wii U

  • The Wii U is a cheaper gaming option than the XBox One or PlayStation 4. Players do not need to pay extra to subscribe to social networking services, which is the case with PlayStation and Microsoft products.
  • The games are very family-friendly.
  • This social networking capability is another strength of the Wii U. Since the Wii U's launch, Nintendo have included features like the Miiverse social network, which makes the Wii U far better than previous Wii consoles at linking players together.
  • The Miiverse resembles Facebook, with every player having their own page where they can post public messages or contact people on their friends list. It's a good way to find out hints and tips about your favourite games. With the Miiverse, players can also create an online identity that friends can easily locate, allowing them to take part in multi-player games with people they know. Unlike Facebook, the Miiverse comes with easy-to-use parental controls, so you can limit the services that your children have access to.
  • Another advantage of the Wii U is that Nintendo have designed it to have backwards compatibility with older Wii models. The Wii Transfer App allows anyone to connect their Wii U to previous models, and you can find the app on the Nintendo Online Store. Using the app, you can transfer entire Wii games and profiles, but be aware that a 512 MB SD card is needed to complete the process.
  • The Wii U offers access to online streaming services such as YouTube or Netflix using their Wii GamePad.

The Disadvantages of Choosing the Wii U

  • One major drawback of the Wii U is that the GamePad has a relatively short battery life. A typical charge will last for between 3 and 5 hours, and it can be frustrating to run out of charge in the middle of gameplay.
  • Another disadvantage is that the Wii U doesn't include a Blu-ray or DVD disc drive, so for anyone who loves to blend gaming and movie watching, it might not be the console to buy.
  • Lovers of intense action games might find the Wii U to be less exciting than the Xbox One, which comes with the Kinect controller. The Wii U GamePad works better with more cerebral, slower-paced games than first person shooters. This is partly a function of the relatively slow CPU used by the Wii U, which makes it hard to deliver the processing power needed for hectic shooters.
  • Players can also only use one GamePad controller with each console, which tends to limit the multiplayer potential of the Wii U. To an extent, the use of Wii Remotes works around this limitation, but for true multiplayer experiences, the PlayStation or Xbox might be better.

So Which Console Should I Buy?

The Wii U, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One all have their strengths and weaknesses, but when it comes down to it, the deciding factor is what users want to do with their console.

  • The Wii U might not be the first choice for those who love playing first person shooters. Instead, the greater processing power of the Xbox One, along with its more varied selection of titles makes it the system to go for – and the PlayStation 4 is a good option either.
  • The Wii U isn't geared up to deliver an adrenaline rush to hardened shooter fans, but for families with young children, the Wii U could be perfect. Many of Nintendo's own titles for the system have been tailored to a youthful audience, with very little violence and cute, cartoonish graphics. The interactive controller also makes the Wii U a great way for parents and kids to play together.Popular games for Wii U
  • Anyone who has previously owned an Xbox 360 or a Wii might also want to consider backwards compatibility. If you have spent time and money building up a collection of games on either platform, you can still play them on next generation systems. That's not so easy on the PlayStation 4, but you can access PS3 games via Sony's cloud service.
