Very impressive. Thanks
Such a rip off. Heat
Still overpriced! (party)
Ordered, another for the collection. Stopped buying physical for anything PS4 or Switch but I still like to add to what I have (especially when it's this low)
Thanks for listing
Can't go wrong at 4.49, even if it does sit on the pile (y)
Cheers OP, HEAT!! I reckon one for the collection.
Same here, gets much more use than the switch.
Next time post it!
thanks great buy
bought Smash Bros for £31.26 from them inc. delivery, bargain (party)
How is this a deal moderators? Cash generator is store specific, this is a one off deal. I might as well post my finds at the car boot sale!!!
https://www.metacritic.com/game/wii-u/the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild This game has been consistently reviewed as being outstanding. The Wii U isn't the best way to experience the game though. The switch version is graphically a little better and frame rate is better.
I don't get this game. A game like Skyrim is vastly superior and out years before this. Honestly people who buy whatever Nintendo turns out regardless of fact it's not that good and constant rehash of prior releases on their old platforms are a big part of the problem.
I couldn't get into it either.
I got my copy from asda for £15 about 18 months ago not sure if they still sell them
Accordingly. However, Nintendo games' prices are high because they can.
I have this on the U but play it on the PC were the horrendous lazy busy work breaking weapons systems has been fixed, and you can also play it in 4k, plus add on graphics packs and textures, just some amazing work with the Cemu emulator at this point, but more importantly it allows a great game to become the perfect game it should have been before Nintendo decided to port it to their Wii U 2.0. Lol But if you have a pc with say a 970,980,1050 and upwards then you should try the game this way, it is simply amazing.
Think @Chanchi32 may have already found it earlier. ;) https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-wii-u-2999-at-argos-free-cc-3231022?
Argos...take my money!
Please consider buying from Argos at the same price rather than amazon. Support local companies that pay actual tax and employ local people.
I got one for 17.38 on musicmagpie last week. Couple scratches on the case but otherwise really good condition
I think I got it for £14.99 not that long ago
Especially when it’s been as low as £10 in back to the future Asda.
Gets excited... Sees that it's Wii U version... Excitement goes
Yeah just wanted to draw attention to it and have all the diffferent platform versions in one place.
Can I have a gold star ! ? (cheeky)
Good spot, you paid attention ;) sorted
Heist is £3.29 on 3DS :)
More chance of finding A Willy Wonka golden ticket. Better off to go in-store and hoke through the Mission Impossible /Bane give a ways and you may get lucky with a Lloyd or Slimer pack.
Better take it down before Nintendo's lawyers turn up lol
This just the Wii U version or has the Xbox One version gone down too?
The default photo on Smyths website :P
Sorry, if it breaks within 2 years what do I get? Are you saying nothing? If so then the assistant was very misleading which is not good at all. I did think 2 year warranty on 2nd hand tech seemed generous. Anyway I think I have a good unit so fingers crossed it doesn't break and that I haven't just tempted fate.
2 days is full refund, 1 week is always refund but in vouchers but you have to argue with them, 2 years is if it develops a fault at any time within those 2 years, no refund given
They told me it was 2 years when I bought my used Wii U from CEX on Tuesday and the receipt seems to back this up (can post a photo if needed). The only thing I haven't tested is the sensor bar. I don't think I will use the sensor bar, I can't see myself ever using it but will test this weekend if I get time.
I have been after a Wii U for a while. I had been looking at Gumtree for a month and whilst there were occasionally some very good deals they were never local to me so I decided to get one from CEX. I visited 3 CEX stores in order to find one in good condition (I live in London so this was easy to do) but out of the shops I visited one of them had no consoles and the devices in other stores were in bad condition. I had given up on looking but was working in Chelmsford yesterday and passed a CEX in my lunch hour. They had 3 devices and one of them looked absolutely spanking new. Didn't have any scratches. I asked the assistant if I could take a closer look and it looked brand new with no marks at all so I bought it. I tested it out last night and it seems to work fine. My console did not come in the box though, the assistant say "these don't come in boxes" so he either meant the people bringing them in don't bring the boxes or possibly the store doesn't keep boxes as a policy given these are old technology now. I have a PS4 set up in my main room but wanted a Wii U so I could play old Mario, Zelda, Layton, Contra and a few others whilst I am watching sport on TV which I don't have to pay full attention to. I am pleased with my purchase so far. Edit: The shop bubble-wrapped the console and gamepad. The cables just came in a bag. Also my console had Mario Kart 8 preloaded which was a bonus.
No, it’s comes with a WiiU gamepad controller
only the system you buy it on. this *is* Nintendo, after all.
If you buy this can you play it on the wii u and 3ds or only on the system you buy it?
You can earn MyNintendo Gold Points from purchasing 3DS and Wii U digital games too (your Nintendo Account must be linked to your Nintendo Network ID and funds must be merged to purchase from website) *Not sure if you can earn Gold Points by purchasing from console, or if it's only when purchasing from website (confused)
Still one of the best games I've ever played, & I've played MANY since '82.
I never upgraded my 3ds to the New model that came out with extra features such as snes, gutted i’d buy this in a heartbeat otherwise plus other snes games. still waiting on snes games for switch too or a metroid collection would be nice eventually (i know prime is on way, im talking about other Metroid games) since i never played any Metroid before and the nes one on switch online was my first.
On YouTube search for 'wii u custom firmware 5.5.3' You'll have plenty to get you going from there.
Any chance you could pm the website and guide. Cough cough. Sorry just spotted the link a few comments up. Might give it a try
Nintendont will run GC games perfectly fine on the gamepad. Hell, it runs Triforce games like MK Arcade GP 2: Obviously the camera feature is disabled.
Just got the Gamecube side of things sorted, yep you can use a WiiU pro controller. I only injected games that are on the WiiU USB helper though, so I dont know about the compatibility of others. So I wouldnt go retiring your Wii just yet until someone with more knowledge can chime in or you go asking on GBATemp... You can set it to automatically set the ratio to 4:3 (or just adjust your TV/Projector), but I dont mind 16:9. I think some games like Fzero GX have a 16:9 ratio natively anyway.
Very low risk. Modded firmware behaves just like stock. There's a useful guide here to show you the extent to how it works here
Price for most games is not an issue (got Mario Rabbids Kingdom for £10 the other day), you just wait few months and they drop a lot. Problem is for NINTENDO games (or imported by Nintendo EU) because NINTENDO lock their price for a very very long time, they are greedy bitches while Sony / Microcrosft games (very good/popular/expensive or not) will always drop bellow £10-15 with time. And as said by prankster101, sadly, so many stupid people always defend Nintendo attitude... "Not many people played this game on WiiU, i'm fine with them re realising it on Switch" sure, it's fine BUT why AT THIS PRICE ? Everybody could enjoy the game the same way AND Nintendo would make s*load of money if it was sold £15-20 less... In the end if Nintendo keep doing what they do its because of the community that massively support them. Love Nintendo and their games but their price policy... its disgusting.
There's bound to be someone on here who states that the price of the software is justified - because not many people got to play the game the first time around (on Wii U). Tis happened many times before. Nintendo Defense Force really does come out in spades.
Yep, it is disgraceful. Any other developer would get rightly lambasted for re-releasing old games at full price with minimal improvements but Nintendo get a free pass on everything for some reason (confused) The console is also vastly overpriced for the clockwork powered hardware, hoping the newer version pushes the base unit price down but knowing Nintendo the new one will just be dearer and the old (current) one stays the same...
The price of switch games are outrageous. Probably the only thing stopping me getting one. I’ll stick to the Wii u for now 😁
No thanks, I’ll wait till it’s £50 on the Switch before I pick it up ;)
Good point, will update. Thanks.
I’d add the fact that it’s for the Wii U in the title.
All gone. Glad it was of use to someone.
Good deal, heat. Don’t forget to share the love. Check out my deal (y)
The visual trickery that Nintendo used to make us believe we were playing a 3D game with 2D karts is pretty amazing https://www.gameinformer.com/gamer-culture/2019/04/13/nintendo-used-some-pretty-cool-tricks-to-get-mario-kart-64-to-run-on-the
I believe most Wii servers/Wii Channel are gone but the Wii U channel/shop is working fine and also Splatoon 1 is still active with people online.
Wii u servers are gone
I love Splatoon 2 but then again I've never played Splatoon for the Wii U. I might get it just for the story mode if it's different to the Splatoon 2 story mode, as I do like the single player story modes. It's cheap enough to be doing that, which is of course brilliant news! If I do that, I'll still give the online multiplayer a go as well. I might pick up the Wii Sports Club disc soon then, interesting to know not many copies have been made... thanks for that (y)
Mario Maker is awesome :D I would highly recommend the first Splatoon, I tried the Splatoon 2 free week and was slightly disapointed. Bought the 1st game from game for £5 and booted it up this morning. Very similar feel to the 2nd game but I found the Wii U gamepad had some nice features such as displaying the map. I used a pro Wii U controller and felt really nice. Also with the free Wii U online service, I will be playing splatoon 1 instead of buying the 2nd! (Might be worth checking some videos to see what the difference with the single player content is though!) I would add, it might be worth picking up Wii U Sports Club sooner rather than later as it seems(from listings avaliable) there wasn't many of them printed and will become quite sought after imo.
Really wish SNES and N64 games would play on the switch Mine collects dust and I think access to old games would really transform it Wake up Nintendo
Sorry, I meant I'm buying this Super Mario 64 code from ShopTo which I will redeem on my Wii U, the console being from CeX
buying a code from cex?
Recently bought a Wii u from Game for £50, bought about 10 games for a fiver each as well from the same shop. Even managed to get Phineas and Fern for £2, quite rare apparently and sells for around £25 on eBay. I don’t think there will be many Game shops with Wii u games left but bargains if you can find them
I am tempted but my Switch does not get played enough! I live in hope they will port this to the Switch at some point.
