Still loving my v20 with ir blaster, removable battery and quad DAC

plexae

Just got it from ebay and really like it. You can feel the age of this ohone, but it still does all things well except NFC for some reason. Love the DAC, it's really worth it only for that

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

2 year old phone. Won't get many more updates. Voted hot. In hindsight, should've refrained

Anyone had theirs dispatched yet??

steveyboy79

Trying to understand why this is a remarkable £303 yet 64GB single sim version is £400. Is that because this is EU version, the other UK? :/

matt181818

Does the warranty include the screen repair/ replacement? thanks

airlocker

the digitizers/screen replacement on these LGs are expensive, so make sure you get insurance as a new screen will cost you more 100£ parts only

LlewynX

I believe they ship with an EU to UK plug adaptor so no extra charger needed to be bought here :)

Ended up getting the 128gb version for £221 inc wireless charger. Only £11 customs charge with Royal mail and 2 weeks to get here.

Personaly i have been buying LG phones on and off since 2012 and the worse thing you find about them is the battery, they will easily loose 10-15% each night if you dont charge them which shows there battery saving settings are inadequate for the job. Apart from that just buy them when they hit rock bottom in price and you will get a great bargain.

Looks like the V50 has a 400mah battery....... https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000411363352.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.12905ac6CuLtHQ&algo_pvid=45602ba4-94b1-434e-85e6-4c4f4b03b6d7&algo_expid=45602ba4-94b1-434e-85e6-4c4f4b03b6d7-0&btsid=84d4e4c1-d544-4660-abd4-e185ccadef00&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_1,searchweb201603_53 Might be worth the extra ££'s. As far as I can see its the same phone, except it's 5g, bigger battery and a processor upgrade. Proably worth the extra £70.

LG phones were a great alternative to Samsung at a much better price. But they lost the plot a couple of years ago with underwhelming cameras and low capacity battery. LG V40 would have been fantastic with a 4000MH battery

Im so tempted by an LG, as i loved my G2, but no Paypal is a worry. And ive no Credit Card so maybe a risk.

I'd go for this if power user, and don't prioritize battery life

cypher007

this or a G8S?

Soni84

That's only for audiophiles. An average Joe with an average earphone won't notice a thing. At least I didn't when I had the LG G6

zelda88

Not a bad price that. I was condersing one of these when upgrading from a V20 as its one of the very few 'Flagships' with a dedicated SD slot (not shared), as well as a 3.5 jack, wide angle lens and OLED screen all in one package. Heat added

gibbo82

Great phone for audiophiles with the quad dac!

As V40 resale value is so high, you can always try both and keep the one you like better I wouldn't say it's a major upgrade, unless you're going to use dac/shoot video extensively, though cameras on this also better

I have ordered one of these as have always liked LG, but have been using an OP6 8gb/128gb version for a couple of days and am wondering which is better... Do I cancel the LG order or return the OP6? The OP6 was cheaper (refurb from giffgaff) and the battery life of the V40 concerns me... but I am tempted by the audio quality and boombox speaker of the V40, plus the micro sd expansion and wireless charging is handy . Is this V40 that much better than the OP6 to justify extra cost?

jeeves

Bought a few weeks back when similar deal was on here. They sent a separate vat receipt with phone and as far as i'm aware laptop outlet are one of the authorised UK delaers for this phone so shouldn't have any issues with warranty. Unfortunately I had to send mine back to laptop as it was running extremely hot, severe battery drain and random shut downs. Now rocking the Xperia 1 which is rapid!
