Just eat and drink double! On a side note this isn’t that great a price for a not great hotel.

This is not an All Inclusive holiday for 2. I paid for it and they still have sent anybody round to go with me. Apparently after checking they don't include that.

But if it's a windy day (as it often is), you can't use the cable car anyway for safety reasons. We've tried 3 times to go up and were only successful once. Amazing views if you're lucky enough to make it though and definitely worth the effort!

Sir will you be needing a butler? If so please get in touch!

Tenerife is a hole. The flight was a nightmare, full of scum. The place itself resembles Bolton in the 1990s.

Just got back from Tenerife 2 weeks ago. wasnt that warm really, wore a jumper most days, chilly on a night ;-) PDC looks nice but a ball ache transfer from airport, at least flight lands early though should be at hotel by 4pm ish.

Top hotel and 5 Euro a pint of Heineken isn’t bad at all . Cheaper than my local

I would rather go on holiday to Southend! Essex is heaven.

Sounds good, at leats it's not that far, good to know there's others across the road. 5 Euros a pint isn't THAT bad either, still cheaper than a lot of major cities!

I stayed there last May. It's 5 Euros per pint of Heineken in the hotel, or on the opposite side of the road, it's 2 Euros per pint of Amstel. Room service has drinks at over 200 Euros. There's a nice roof-top bar with great views (when the skies are clear). Breakfast can be really busy on somedays, quiet on others, depending on how many are checking in/out that day. There are some odd combinations available at breakfast including what looked like flaked roast pork and yoghurt for kebabs (must be for the hungover), or you could have crepes, pancakes, fruit, cereals, a cooked breakfast and finish it the chocolate covered donuts and cakes! There are a few other bars, all within 5 minutes walk, including a British bar for those missing Carling. There's a nice little Italian restaurant around the corner with super friendly staff and good food. There are regular busses to the main resorts, of Las Americas and Los Cristianos. Taxis would be 20 euros to the same resorts. There's always discounts for this place on sites like Secret Escapes and Voyage Prive too.

We were there last year the same time. Weather was beginning to get a bit chilly. Needed a jumper during late afternoons and evenings. North was colder than south. There were sunny spells during the day and it was windy.

What time did you go last year? What month? How is it there at X-mas time in terms of weather? Thanks

I did a search earlier on all inc and it was about £1200 more expensive for family of 4. Looking at this tripadvisor review it's 125 euro to upgrade https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g673853-d280841-r447987840-Globales_Tamaimo_Tropical-Puerto_de_Santiago_Tenerife_Canary_Islands.html I am assuming that's for the week because there is also a comment stating "only cleaned/sheets changed a few times through the week but fresh towels every day. "

As the hotel also offer all inclusive, it could be worth checking with the hotel how much they would charge locally to upgrade when you get there

Great deal as Tenerife normally stupidly expensive at Christmas. Like already said, I still count Puerto Santiago as south in that it's the correct side of Mt Teide and so unlike Puerto de La Cruz it doesn't spend most of the time under a haze of cloud and mist

You won't get much sunshine in the north of Tenerife in the winter. Temperatures will therefore be lower. And it tends to be quite windy. There's probably enough exploring to be done in Tenerife for a week. If you're ok to drive to the beach for the rest of your stay then this is good value.

The North is actually only a couple of degrees cooler but cloudier. Certainly much more than 14. More like 20 celcius.

I'm guessing here, but does Tenerife have higher Winter temperatures, than Glasgow in the Summer? :D

Puerta de la cruz, 14 degrees average in december. nice to rent a car and spend the 2 weeks exploring the island though.

Dont expect much in terms of sun in north Tenerife

Flights may cost more than that for Easter, so a good deal A/I.

heat added its in the holidays AI, not to bad in price, and will get some sunshine.

Not the best hotel but clean and staff are friendly. Food is decent as well. Just bear in mind at this time of year the clouds rolling down off the mountain has a big effect on the number of sun hours and the area itself isn't very lively. Good bus connections to Siam park and Santa Cruz though

You get a magic "fare discount" from Ryanair? Bravo.

Yes, it's not a cruise line I'm familiar with. Reading though the reviews I'd say it is similar to Thomson. I'd say for less than £50pp all inclusive it's having realistic expectations.

Its a good price and thumbs up for the effort in putting this together. I would be a bit wary though of Pullmantur cruises. The overall review rating on cruisecritic is 41% with more people rating it as terrible than those rating is as excellent. Being stuck on a cruise ship if things are not good could be a miserable experience.

It's one way flight from Stansted to Gran Canaria and then a one way flight from Malaga to Stansted - where the cruise finishes. Updated original post.

Is it a mistake in the OP when it says one way flight from Stansted to Malaga? Should that be Gran Canaria or is it a transfer from there?

Yes it is considerably more for hotels in the south. I guess it just depends on what you want.

Will be interesting to see what price deal becomes staying in the south of the island lol

oh without a doubt, change hotel to one in the south and you will get reasonably decent weather, probably the odd rainy or cloudy day but a hell of a lot better than here, been at xmas a few times

That's useful to know. You can easily change your hotel for extra cost as there is plenty of hotels to choose from. I guess it is still going to be warmer than the UK and without going long haul you can pretty much guarantee some winter sun.

U probably wont get much sun in that resort in the winter, the north of the island aint the best because of the big mountain in between it and the sun

PDC is in the north and I've been there in our winter months, it tends to rain frequently and the temps are several degrees below that of the south of the island, if you want English style weather then its fine, if you want more sun then stick to the south.

What hotel?

Ok price for June but really nothing special as this is a quiet time there. Not that much to do in that area but fine if you just like laying around in the sun. Many good hotels available that time in Las Americas or Los Cristianos too if you're looking for a bit more life. I think you need to add around £20 per bag each way as it doesn't look like it's included. Norwegian are ok (usually nice leather seats but VERY uncomfortable!). They usually have on board wi-fi too which is a big bonus. Don't bother with transfers. We get a taxi to Las Americas/Los Cristianos for a cost of around 23 to 26 euro, but the hotel mentioned above is about half the distance from the airport so I would think would be around 15 euro each way. Much better than transfers as you just come out of the airport and go to the taxi rank outside and you're off within a minute. Fares are posted outside on a board so make sure you check but they won't con you as they're regulated. With transfers you could be waiting around for 45 minutes easily, maybe longer. Take sterling and exchange in the many shops over there - much better rate than buying here. If it's 1.40 to £1 official rate then here you'd probably get about 1.27 or so, whereas over there you'll get at least 1.35 and maybe more.
