Definitely a good price for flight from Cardiff.

Don't worry: O'Leary will probably cancel the return flight anyway. ;)

I would totally do that, as I am in Scotland and we are not fined...... but sadly I am a teacher!

Take them in term time and pay the fine, it's still way cheaper! I went to school in the days where we had a week off during term once or twice and also the heating broke annually and we were sent home. We all still passed the exams and respected our elders while having a good work ethic and zero sense on entitlememt. Funny now how things have changed but not improved.

It's the flights that cost the money not the accommodation thats why its not much different to 2 weeks prices.

Fantastic deal. I haven't stayed here but I have stayed at the Royal Sun just up the hill twice now. Its a beautiful location with a good bus route to the south of the island for Siam Park. There is a Lidl nearby and a couple of other supermarkets.

There are a lot of low prices like this as its 2 days into the school term, oh to go back to when they were at nursery and we could take them on holidays any time of the year at bargain prices! I am still looking for a week in the sun, first week of the hols, but willing to go Thursday 29th March but prices still high!

But if it's a windy day (as it often is), you can't use the cable car anyway for safety reasons. We've tried 3 times to go up and were only successful once. Amazing views if you're lucky enough to make it though and definitely worth the effort!

Sir will you be needing a butler? If so please get in touch!

Tenerife is a hole. The flight was a nightmare, full of scum. The place itself resembles Bolton in the 1990s.

Just got back from Tenerife 2 weeks ago. wasnt that warm really, wore a jumper most days, chilly on a night ;-) PDC looks nice but a ball ache transfer from airport, at least flight lands early though should be at hotel by 4pm ish.

Top hotel and 5 Euro a pint of Heineken isn’t bad at all . Cheaper than my local

I would rather go on holiday to Southend! Essex is heaven.

Sounds good, at leats it's not that far, good to know there's others across the road. 5 Euros a pint isn't THAT bad either, still cheaper than a lot of major cities!

I stayed there last May. It's 5 Euros per pint of Heineken in the hotel, or on the opposite side of the road, it's 2 Euros per pint of Amstel. Room service has drinks at over 200 Euros. There's a nice roof-top bar with great views (when the skies are clear). Breakfast can be really busy on somedays, quiet on others, depending on how many are checking in/out that day. There are some odd combinations available at breakfast including what looked like flaked roast pork and yoghurt for kebabs (must be for the hungover), or you could have crepes, pancakes, fruit, cereals, a cooked breakfast and finish it the chocolate covered donuts and cakes! There are a few other bars, all within 5 minutes walk, including a British bar for those missing Carling. There's a nice little Italian restaurant around the corner with super friendly staff and good food. There are regular busses to the main resorts, of Las Americas and Los Cristianos. Taxis would be 20 euros to the same resorts. There's always discounts for this place on sites like Secret Escapes and Voyage Prive too.

17.07-30.07 3 stars hotel. GF Noelia. eg. British airways from London Gatwick 180pp. 360+509 All cost £869

This is not in the capital (Santa Cruz) but in the northern resort town of Puerto de la Cruze. It's a very spanish resort with lots of bars and restaurants. Loro Park is situated here. The weather in July will be be hot too.

is this supposed to be cheap ?

One thing note is this hotel is in the Capital city of Tenerife, not the more popular tourist resorts, which could be a good or bad thing depending on your preference. Also the closest airport is Tenerife North but most airlines fly to Tenerife south (long transfer to the north)

Looks a good deal but that’s just the hotel isn’t it? The flights on top could easily double the price. At 1st I thought it was the total holiday price. Not voted either way until I check flight prices. Thanks though.

Doubt you can use the swimming pool then, you'll freeze you're b***s

Was in summer , not in Xmas. Hotel cost me 1300 Euro for 2 adults + 2 kids, all inclusive, one week.

Not the best in my opinion and have been known to be used by 18s/30s say no more. Nothing wrong with youngsters enjoying themselves but when you have kids or older members with you its not much fun. The Los Chris beaches are a good 25min stroll away but the las Americas beaches are on your doorstep just ignore the timeshare touts just say no with some authority and they will leave you alone. Btw don't forget Ryanair new rules no longer the deals they used to be with their new policy of deliberately sitting people apart so now it forces you to book your seats if you want to make sure you sit together, and now holding a gun to your head to make you book priority boarding so as you can take on your cabin luggage otherwise it will be taken from you and placed in the hold. Kenny Jacobs is doing a fantastic job of ruining what was working fine in my opinion and his latest excuses for this is pure BS the man seriously thinks that customers are idiots. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2017/sep/06/ryanair-priority-boarding-carry-on-bags-cabin-luggage

Great if you have the budget, it's nearly £1600 AI for two adults, plus flights......

If looking for hotels in Playa de las Americas, I recommend the Bitacora Hotel, a decent 4 stars, all inclusive, perfect for both for couples and for families.

We were there last year the same time. Weather was beginning to get a bit chilly. Needed a jumper during late afternoons and evenings. North was colder than south. There were sunny spells during the day and it was windy.

What time did you go last year? What month? How is it there at X-mas time in terms of weather? Thanks

I did a search earlier on all inc and it was about £1200 more expensive for family of 4. Looking at this tripadvisor review it's 125 euro to upgrade https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g673853-d280841-r447987840-Globales_Tamaimo_Tropical-Puerto_de_Santiago_Tenerife_Canary_Islands.html I am assuming that's for the week because there is also a comment stating "only cleaned/sheets changed a few times through the week but fresh towels every day. "

As the hotel also offer all inclusive, it could be worth checking with the hotel how much they would charge locally to upgrade when you get there

Great deal as Tenerife normally stupidly expensive at Christmas. Like already said, I still count Puerto Santiago as south in that it's the correct side of Mt Teide and so unlike Puerto de La Cruz it doesn't spend most of the time under a haze of cloud and mist

would love to go here or anywhere abroad for Xmas cos I hate it . . but would it be unfair to leave the kids home alone . . . comments please . . .

You won't get much sunshine in the north of Tenerife in the winter. Temperatures will therefore be lower. And it tends to be quite windy. There's probably enough exploring to be done in Tenerife for a week. If you're ok to drive to the beach for the rest of your stay then this is good value.

The North is actually only a couple of degrees cooler but cloudier. Certainly much more than 14. More like 20 celcius.

I'm guessing here, but does Tenerife have higher Winter temperatures, than Glasgow in the Summer? :D

Puerta de la cruz, 14 degrees average in december. nice to rent a car and spend the 2 weeks exploring the island though.

Nice resort for the oldies but usually under a haze or cloud from Mount Teide. Sunshine may be in short supply. Mega cheap tho as Tenerife at Christmas is usually crazy expensive

Christmas last year was cloudy and the nights freezing while out having a meal and lasted all over new year also has 2 weeks just before Christmas where sun did not appear at all

Make sure you book a hotel with a heated pool!

Have spent the last 4 Xmas in Los Cristianosin southern Tenerife and temps have been 18-26c Not sure about temps in north of island but for sure they're better than UK at Xmas lol

It will certainly be warmer and sunnier than the UK, but actually I can't guarantee the weather!

The law should be changed regarding school holidays! 1, force companies to have a fairer pricing system & fine them for inflated prices when the kids are off school, OR 2, give parents / teachers the option to book 6 weeks of holidays like the workplace system , something has to give as it's too unfair for hardworking families.

Hey guys, Just found this deal if you travel on 1st July! Is this any good?

Base price is often good with these guys, BUT bear in mind costs you have to add in, esp. airport transfers and luggage (£35.50 per large case EACH WAY!)

Anyone got a number or website for these guys ? I'm looking for something to anywhere warm for 3 adults and 2 kids 14 and 10 going from anywhere in Ireland , can get good flights to Faro in August but finding it impossible to get good reasonable accommodation in Lagos or Villamoura , all help appreciated guys as I know it's not always to get good deals from Ireland north or south

I have been to this hotel many, many years ago... it's on a main road in the centre....Tripadvisor currently gives it good ratings for a budget hotel. Could do worse. Puerto De La Cruz is nice and should be fine in July. Don't forget to budget in you Food and Drink.

Dallo the Gangster.

Looks good, however I've not used the budget.airline.com flight brokers before.. . seems they have a premium number and as they are selling combined individual flights with different airlines - if something when astray , could and up dealing with 2 airlines and the broker + each ones different rules. I like to keep to the same airline for both ways when flying. The reviews are mixed but ok. Its showing £235pp for me. Free WiFi but only in the lobby area. I noticed there's a 'hire safe and television' so its probably the type of place that charges extras for everything and I cant see semi-self catering options either, which is a shame. But still a nice budget price to visit a great sunny country. Hope the zoo over there still has its iceberg facility and super friendly penguins.
