It's 5 Euros per pint of Heineken in the hotel, or on the opposite side of the road, it's 2 Euros per pint of Amstel. Room service has drinks at over 200 Euros. There's a nice roof-top bar with great views (when the skies are clear).Breakfast can be really busy on somedays, quiet on others, depending on how many are checking in/out that day. There are some odd combinations available at breakfast including what looked like flaked roast pork and yoghurt for kebabs (must be for the hungover), or you could have crepes, pancakes, fruit, cereals, a cooked breakfast and finish it the chocolate covered donuts and cakes! There are a few other bars, all within 5 minutes walk, including a British bar for those missing Carling. There's a nice little Italian restaurant around the corner with super friendly staff and good food. There are regular busses to the main resorts, of Las Americas and Los Cristianos. Taxis would be 20 euros to the same resorts. There's always discounts for this place on sites like Secret Escapes and Voyage Prive too.

Sounds good, at leats it's not that far, good to know there's others across the road. 5 Euros a pint isn't THAT bad either, still cheaper than a lot of major cities!

I did a search earlier on all inc and it was about £1200 more expensive for family of 4.

Looking at this tripadvisor review it's 125 euro to upgrade

I am assuming that's for the week because there is also a comment stating "only cleaned/sheets changed a few times through the week but fresh towels every day. "

Great deal as Tenerife normally stupidly expensive at Christmas. Like already said, I still count Puerto Santiago as south in that it's the correct side of Mt Teide and so unlike Puerto de La Cruz it doesn't spend most of the time under a haze of cloud and mist

would love to go here or anywhere abroad for Xmas cos I hate it . . but would it be unfair to leave the kids home alone . . . comments please . . .
You won't get much sunshine in the north of Tenerife in the winter.
Temperatures will therefore be lower. And it tends to be quite windy.
There's probably enough exploring to be done in Tenerife for a week. If you're ok to drive to the beach for the rest of your stay then this is good value.
The North is actually only a couple of degrees cooler but cloudier. Certainly much more than 14. More like 20 celcius.
I'm guessing here, but does Tenerife have higher Winter temperatures, than Glasgow in the Summer?
Puerta de la cruz, 14 degrees average in december.
nice to rent a car and spend the 2 weeks exploring the island though.

Dont expect much in terms of sun in north Tenerife
Flights may cost more than that for Easter, so a good deal A/I.
heat added its in the holidays AI, not to bad in price, and will get some sunshine.
Not the best hotel but clean and staff are friendly. Food is decent as well. Just bear in mind at this time of year the clouds rolling down off the mountain has a big effect on the number of sun hours and the area itself isn't very lively. Good bus connections to Siam park and Santa Cruz though

Yes, it's not a cruise line I'm familiar with. Reading though the reviews I'd say it is similar to Thomson. I'd say for less than £50pp all inclusive it's having realistic expectations.
Its a good price and thumbs up for the effort in putting this together. I would be a bit wary though of Pullmantur cruises. The overall review rating on cruisecritic is 41% with more people rating it as terrible than those rating is as excellent. Being stuck on a cruise ship if things are not good could be a miserable experience.

Take sterling and exchange in the many shops over there - much better … Take sterling and exchange in the many shops over there - much better rate than buying here. If it's 1.40 to £1 official rate then here you'd probably get about 1.27 or so, whereas over there you'll get at least 1.35 and maybe more.

Or get a Halifax Clarity card and get the full 1.40 from a cash machine.
What hotel?
Ok price for June but really nothing special as this is a quiet time there. Not that much to do in that area but fine if you just like laying around in the sun. Many good hotels available that time in Las Americas or Los Cristianos too if you're looking for a bit more life.

I think you need to add around £20 per bag each way as it doesn't look like it's included. Norwegian are ok (usually nice leather seats but VERY uncomfortable!). They usually have on board wi-fi too which is a big bonus.

Don't bother with transfers. We get a taxi to Las Americas/Los Cristianos for a cost of around 23 to 26 euro, but the hotel mentioned above is about half the distance from the airport so I would think would be around 15 euro each way. Much better than transfers as you just come out of the airport and go to the taxi rank outside and you're off within a minute. Fares are posted outside on a board so make sure you check but they won't con you as they're regulated. With transfers you could be waiting around for 45 minutes easily, maybe longer.

Take sterling and exchange in the many shops over there - much better rate than buying here. If it's 1.40 to £1 official rate then here you'd probably get about 1.27 or so, whereas over there you'll get at least 1.35 and maybe more.

Looking for all inclusive for weekend 27 feb anyone found any good deals for 2adults
Hot for the effort
worth flying for a day out at this price. bargain
I'm often looking at flights to the Canaries so have a reasonable idea as to what's a good price. As is usual with these 'cheap' flights, it's the extras that bump up the price significantly.

An example for me, Gatwick to Tenerife 24-31 Jan, works out as £325.96 for two of us. This includes baggage, extra legroom seats and transfers. The price for baggage is near the upper end of charges compared with other carriers, as is the extra legroom seats - transfers are also excessive - other places charge around £6 to £8 per person return. You can get a taxi to/from the airport to las americas/los cristianos for about 22 to 25 euros each way - about £18 to £20 each way. Much quicker than a shuttle and cheaper too!

However, comparing this price to what I usually pay, it's still a pretty good price. Ditch the extra legroom seats and transfers saves £110 for 2 people, taking the price down to £215 for 2 adults. That is a very good price indeed.

Haven't checked other routes/dates, but for this example it can't be anything other than hot!

No problem. Quick amendment, it was July 2013 I went. Head still in 2014.

For a 3* it's sublime. For a young couple on a budget it was fantastic. I prefer apartments over hotels as often like having a drink before going out for a meal or a few cocktails. Playa De Las Americas was really good for young couple. Plenty of quieter, nicer bars for a lovely local beer and a cocktail off the strip. Lots of lovely restaurants close to these apartments and the beach. Big supermarket couple mins walk and bus stop for loads of the excursions 5 mins walk.

Couldn't leave without mentioning Papagayo Beach Club. Although at the very end of the strip it is a million miles away from what you expect from the rest of the strip. Fantastic in the day lounging on the white leather sofa and beds having a cocktail overlooking the Atlantic and at night plays chill house music, totally open top. Like something from Ibiza. Even had a Saxophonist accompanying the music. Was fabulous!
Same here.
Booked holiday.
They then rang hour later demanding extra £60 as "flights had gone up during the process time of booking online"
Never again.

Anyone with good experience of LCH?

Our family of 8 have just spent Christmas in Los Cristianos (Paradise Park Resort & Spa) after booking through LCH. Didn't have any problems at all. Looking forward to spending Christmas there again next year.

Someone above mentioned about LCH ringing them up increasing the price due to the flights going up. Many other travel agents do this too, we booked through Travel Republic last year and they did that exact thing when there were 12 of us going.
