It’s hard to imagine modern society functioning without mobile phones. These pocket miracles help people stay in touch, play games, watch TV, manage their finances, make purchases, navigate complex road networks and, if that goes wrong, book taxis. Finding the right mobile is essential, and this HotUKDeals buyer’s guide explains how to do so.

Three is useless around where I live,a smashing deal all the same

Yes, so if you had an unlimited data deal and you had a 30gb tethering limit, you could see not use the 30gb in the dongle, after the 30gb it would stop. So if you got a 30gb contract and you can tether 30gb you could stick it in a dongle and use the whole 30gb of data in the dongle

Is this in reference to my comment around using it in a mobile dongle?

The best thing to get retention deals is to be persistent. In the end it took me threatening them with the onbudsmen. Good luck guys

The Mate X is likely to be a micro bezel normal form factor phone. I think you'll find all these articles are self referencing that's why there's no explicit source - it's a common theme between phone news sites to try and get the edge, just look at Redmondpie. None of those sites look particularly credible and Mate X probably is a registered trademark but I suspect not much more than a name. I could be wrong but that concept phone is definitely just a concept, the technology does not exist to cram three displays into a phone the size of a normal phone and a half decent battery.

There is this again suggesting the end of this year and here and here It may be a load of rubbish and there is no mate x but this article confirms they filed a trademark for the name and i never said it was going to launch in November i said they were hoping to

No chance this will happen, essentially 3 screens in such a slim body? Doubt it

I hate concept videos; it’s just some sad case who has too much time on their hands (skilled or not), then all it takes is someone to pick up on it and spread it as truth by self reference. Newspapers do this all the time! The likely Huawei Mate X will be the same phone without the fold part (eg traditional smartphone shape).

If you’ve a reliable smartphone then most EU airports will accept the Ryanair app boarding. Exception being all Morroco and some Greece. A boarding pass on photo paper :/

No idea, but what a stupid rule via Ryanair? Who the heck has access to printers or internet all the time when away to “check in” another money making spin. Think Ryan air is on the slippery slip to no where

Now that Ryanair has reduced its check in/ print boarding card time window to 2 days, and Greek/Moroccan airports only accept printed ones, will ones printed on this be accepted?

Very jealous!

Bible ? Sorry I don’t know her, I’ve heard she’s part of one of them “religion” cults. If you need a book on how to support and treat others and also coping when times are a bit harder than usual then your parents failed. I learnt that from a devout catholic who turned her nose at her own religion when at times it thought it was above the geographical teachings of humanity - current legislation. Enjoy your central belt. I’m sure it’s as good as the canes they used to beat kids with.

I'd rather ask a lobster to gently hold my testicles than be with this bunch of lying crooks anymore. I work 3 miles from their global HQ in Newbury and can barely send a text most of the time, so I'm utterly unconvinced by their coverage claims. I've been trying to sort out several issues with them for over two years and have been lied to by their "customer service operators" more times than I care to remember.

Just next to Bible one. I’ll get my coat.

Or is that poundworld!

Thanks for the heads up about the Central Belt coverage!

AliExpress isn't the only website Xiaomi products are not barely working tat, i can't say so much for other brands, they're actually great products, maybe you should check them out when Three store stocks in the UK If they made bad products they wouldn't be one of China's biggest companies

No. You can only call people on it. But the new feature of this handset is people can also call you.

Using a Xiaomi Mi A1 from a deal on here, replaced the original one plus one that was a bargain for its spec in its day but now oneplus want too much for their phones. For the spec with exception of camera that is not as good not terrible as one plus for the price its a good phone.

Oh I totally agree jazzy man, but for me personally, I'd never buy a Samsung again, just a personal opinion. Until they sort out their user interface ie touchwiz or whatever the hell it's called these day,s I'll steer clear.

Why on earth over the Honor 9 lite? I'd be absolutely amazed if this isn't better in every way, except the screen ratio/bezel ratio. The camera alone would be a reason, and it should be faster too

But there we go if you put it in your burgler alarm then you can take it out again and use another sim. You assumed that i was talking about your burglar alarm. This post is about 1p mobile not your burglar alarm. Glad we cleared that up. Lol

In my original post I said I was going to use the SIM in my burglar alarm to send SMS update messages, then you quoted that post mentioning using credit for overseas roaming. My alarm is very much attached to my house, so couldn't go roaming...

No its 3p for calls on Three. Its the 321 tariff - 3p per minute for calls, 2p per text , 1p per MB of data So 1p mobile is cheaper unless you are a really low user ( like myself) , that does not use £2.50 per month.

TCB showing as £2.02 only

If you use 200mb data, the Three data rewards SIM has it for free (£2 value on 1p mobile). Same cost for calls, though 2p for texts. I put my father on this deal and it's perfect as he only uses WhatsApp for texting and calling (on WiFi for calls). If he does make the occasional call it's the same cost as 1p without that £2.50 pm min top-up requirement. So if you don't text that often and get good signal with Three, that's the better deal IMO. 1p mobile is still a good shout though.

EE is excellent and will not let me go over my data limit, if I run out (happened once when stuck at an airport for 24 hours) it cuts me off and then I have to logon and buy extra data in advance.

Thanks, what a refreshing change to see someone saying something nice on the internet! I’ll likely go for the £5 deal, it’s her first phone and will only be for basic communication other than when at home, at which point out broadband will deal with the data. I assume there would be a message if/when she gets near to her data limit as I have on my phone. If not, then I might need to reconsider.

OP a lot of ignorant comments on here - frankly there is a band on here who hate cashback by redemption & another who can't get their heads around not enough data for me does not mean cold, so this one was always going to struggle. Well done for keeping calm & polite. Clearly we don't know your kids or indeed your financial circumstances, but I would personally look at a larger data allowance - perhaps the recent virgin 6GB for £10 and treat the £6 extra as insurance against a massive bill (what would this cost if they used 6GB one month) and getting you out of 5 or more claims. To me, IF you can afford it, on both fronts, the extra is for me the percentage shot. If a three signal is not an issue, you could consider smarty, even for a short time to evaluate usage.

Thanks, looks good. It says it’s for existing virgin customers but looks like I can still get it.

They limit your data speeds up to 60Mbps on the essential plans, it's similar to throttling by your broadband provider. However, on the max plan your data speed is not limited and will be dependent on the network coverage in your location

Can you explain the speed issue and I don't currently use much more than 6Gb a month so what's the better option? Thanks

There is also the 20GB option with a MAX plan for £32 after cashback EE Max Plan 20GB £38

Some people may not even understand the speed issue

No one is probably going to read that this is the Max vs Essential contract so max vs 60mbps capped speeds, BT Sports app for duration of the contract instead of 3 months and includes more roaming countries such as US and other I believe. EDIT: Looks like extra countries on top of EU are USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand.

I've got this, I think I paid £40. It works great. Nearly 3 years old now. Beware of any similar looking ones where the plugs are positioned in the "Top-Down" direction, as these are next to useless as the cord coming out of the bottom stops the plug bellow being used.

Just got the deal from phoning Sky on 0800. they will "beat" the £55 possible Quidco by doing the £5 data (and UL mins / UL texts) for £3....therefore £13 p.m. for 24 then £12 p.m. for 6 (then the phone is yours to keep).

Still a good deal....brand new iPhone SE (32gb) with 500mb (rolls over) / UL minutes / UL texts for all Sky Customers (6m for non-Sky), £55 Quidco & Free return an affordable £15p.m.....not bad, i agree with OP (highfive) The catch appears to be that you either have to do the 24m SWAP (£54 cashback for your iPhone SE) OR keep for 30m and keep phone(?).
