Yeah, the 2DS XL battery swap isn't as simple as the 3DS ones and heard you have to strip the console down more. Not something I'd be happy doing. The cracking top screen is quite worrying and appears to be some weakness on the 2DS XL. Probably because it's so thin and fragile. I didn't like how they'd move the speakers from the top screen to the base part. It seemed to loose clarity and the stereo seperation wasn't as obvious.
Battery isn't really sealed unless you class the 3ds xl battery sealed too. You just gotta be more careful opening up the 2ds xl compared to the 3ds xl. Stylus yeah it's short but can always buy a replacement that expands similar to those that people used on original 3ds if they had to replace them. You also forgot to mention the screens on 2ds xl they're quite delicate compared to previous models so get damaged and cracked more easily.
To be honest I sold my 2DS XL for this Samus 3DS XL. I can't say I was too struck on the 2DS XL. 1/ The hinge felt very fragile and weak. 2/ The speakers aren't brilliant sounding 3/ Lack of 3D is missed on some games 4/ Battery life is inferior to 3DS XL 5/ Sealed battery cannot be replaced 6/ Cartridge flap is annoying 7/ Stylus too short So yeah, overall apart from the weight a bit of a disappointment.
Looking forward to the Metroid switch special edition 🤞
Maybe they'll bring it over 1 day :(
